I decided to make the decision to get eye surgery last year and sought out recommendations and yelp for the best care. A friend highly recommended Dr. Lewis so I decided to make the appointment with him. Dr. Lewis is pretty straight forward and thorough which I really appreciate. I could see where people might misconstrue this to be rude and that can be someone else's opinion but honestly, I think he just likes to be honest and avoid wasting people's time. It's never great to feel like another number when you're seeking out care but Dr. Lewis and his team never made me feel that way. The techs and staff here are really friendly and welcoming. They helped to ease any fears or anxiety I had without being invalidating or passing judgment. One of the techs told me he himself got PRK from Dr. Lewis because he is so good at his job. And looking back on my whole experience, he's right! During the initial consultation appointment Dr. Lewis made sure to check all my measurements twice and assess for any other abnormalities. He was consistent and steadfast throughout this process and explained to me his concerns with lasik versus PRK given my specific eyes. I opted for the PRK after consulting with him and doing my own research. He and his team were on top of all the pre-surgery, surgery and post-op appointments. He also was just consistent each and every appointment, confident but always listening to my concerns. He fairly warned me the recovery process is not easy, which was accurate. Though I was unsure and feeling uneasy with my eye's recovery process after the first post-op appointment, he continued to assure me and offer further follow up appointments later after a few months. I'm actually sitting in the office at my post-op three month follow up appointment as I write this review. The appointment wasn't necessary but I had some concerns come up and he was happy to schedule me. I just told him my concern and he knew exactly what's at fault and gave a recommendation to address the problem. Even in this interaction when other doctors may have scoffed at having another follow up despite a successful surgery, he showed he cares. He's been practicing for a long time now and it shows, not only with his knowledge but how he provides patient care. I'm so grateful for the recommendation my friend gave and wanted to share with others who may also be seeking out such options for surgery. I've really enjoyed coming to this office and am so grateful to Dr. Lewis and his team for providing me with 20/20 vision after wearing glasses and contacts the past 20 years. Even though my insurance covered it, billing for unauthorized tests is a major red flag. Distractions & Upselling When I finally saw Dr. Burrell, she confirmed the cyst but immediately shifted focus to an "overpopulation of eye mites." I was instructed to buy two OTC OCuSOFT products at the front desk for $60 (which I later found on Amazon for $40). As for my actual cyst? She told me to use a hot compress on it for a month to see if it reabsorbs into my body and to schedule a follow-up. Padding Appointments During the intake, the tech asked about dry eyes. I casually mentioned they only get dry when I smoke marijuana, but they formally added "dry eyes" to my medical chart. The Runaround A month later, the hot compresses had done absolutely nothing. I called to ensure my upcoming second appointment would be the actual cyst removal. Instead, the tech told me the doctor wanted to use that visit to follow up on the "dry eyes" and eye mites, and just "assess" the cyst again before scheduling the removal. It shouldn't take three separate appointments (and three co-pays) to remove a minor cyst. After failing to reach an agreement for cyst removal to be done on my next visit, I canceled my appointment and decided I'll just find another Dr. If you want a provider who respects your time, your consent, and your wallet, I would look elsewhere. I felt "squeezed" for profit every step of the way.

I paid over $700 out of pocket for glasses and contacts, and all I received was a $100 contact credit. The rest? Gone. When I brought the issue back to them, the excuses were all over the place. A voicemail from the business on May 16 clearly stated the glasses were dropped off that day and they'd like to discuss a credit to the account. Later, on 12/22/2025, the manager tried to claim they had been sitting on her desk for years. The story changed every time I asked a question. Then came the most unbelievable part: the manager tried to convince me that I had given consent to donate my own property. She looked me straight in the eye and lied to my face. She refused to reimburse or credit my account, even after admitting the prescription was wrong.
