    Wings and dumplings
    Joseph L.

Jenny's Grill is an unexpected but worthwhile stop--be advised it's located inside a Sunoco gas station. Don't let that deter you; the food is excellent. I had the spicy chicken sandwich, and my wife ordered the Korean wings with garlic sauce and the pork dumplings. Everything was delicious: crispy, flavorful, and reasonably priced. Bottom line: ignore the setting and focus on the food. Jenny's Grill is absolutely worth trying--you won't be disappointed. First time so 4 stars, but they really deserve 5. I have to eat somewhere twice before giving 5 stars.

Huge & Beautiful Korean Double-Fried Chicken Wings with Gochujang Buffalo Sauce on them

We've heard so many great things about Jenny's Grill that we decided to give them a try for lunch on a weekday. It's a nice little carry-out operation in a Sunoco gas station sitting at Rt1 and Princess Ann St. Service was excellent and very helpful! Their menu might be small, but it's loaded with many tasty options. The guy who took our order was very helpful and friendly. He gave us great suggestions, as well as let us taste their Gochujang Buffalo sauce to get an idea of the flavors before we selected it for our wings. Their wings are HUGE! But he warned us that their latest order of wings were the size of chicken legs, which they are, so they can only fit 5 in the container instead of 6, which was perfectly fine! They're still brined and double-fried, Korean style - and we got them with their Gochujang Buffalo sauce - NICE!! I got a single patty smash burger, again another amazing dish here! The meat was so flavorful and there was a nice char on the patty and it was much bigger than the typical 3oz smash burger patty. The cheese was crazy flavorful with a long, stringy cheese pull and that coupled with the caramelized onions went great on the perfectly toasted bun! We also tried their Bulgogi Steak & Cheese - This was so flavorful with the marinated steak, which was grilled perfectly! It all came together perfectly on that tasty bun too. And their fries are crispy and piping hot to order. There were only 2 of us, but all this food was soooo much to eat, we end up taking 3 of these large wings home for lunch the next day. Keep in mind that this is a carry-out joint, but they do have a single table in the back, near the gambling machines where were able to stand and eat our food (we asked prior to doing this and they said "of course!"). One of the staff even came to check on us while we were eating and brought us more napkins. Even though it's carryout, don't think this is fried, nasty, messy food wrapped and too messy to eat... I didn't get my hands messy at all eating these wings and burger, they do a great job of packaging the food here. We'll definitely be back soon... Give them a try!

Korean Fried Chicken Wings with Sweet Chili sauce

Danny is the owner of the food service inside the Sunoco Gas Station located right over the bridge into Fredericksburg on Rt 1. The menu is small but tasty! I plan on working my way through. On my first visit I tried the Korean Fried Chicken Wings. AMAZING! Fresh and hot cooked while you wait. I tried the Sweet Chili flavor but they also offer buffalo. Ordered a side of fries with garlic aioli dip. Call ahead is available 540-270-5544

This place quietly asks you not to judge it by its address. Tucked inside a gas station, it's easy to overlook--but after the first bite it was clear to me the food was made with intention and heart. The soy garlic wings were masterfully done --double-fried to a perfect crunch, juicy and flavorful inside. The sauce was balanced, savory with a touch of sweetness. The toasted garlic flakes on top were a nice touch, delivering clean garlic flavor and an extra layer of crunch. The house-made ranch was balanced, complementing the wings instead of overpowering them. The bulgogi smash burger on a brioche bun carried that same care--moist but not greasy, with the bulgogi flavor coming through clearly. The fries were a quiet triumph: crispy outside, soft inside, and evenly salted. You can taste the sincerity behind each bite. This isn't fast food--it's food made thoughtfully, in a place you wouldn't expect, by someone who truly cares.

Run! Don't walk to Jenny's Grill. The food is so full of flavor. The customer service was excellent. My son, who initially didn't want gas station food, ended up ordering the Korean fried chicken legs after seeing my friend and I devour our food. My son said he'd order the chicken again. My friend loved his bulgogi steak and cheese so much he ordered a second one. Go!! Chat with the owner who is also the chef. Enjoy the flavor explosion

    Galbi Smashed Burger

Well I was finally able to make a visit to this unique location called Jenny's Grill which is located in a Sunoco gas station. There's limited parking but manageable. As you walked in, the mini kitchen is behind the cashier counter and the menu is on the right side of the window. The menu is small that offer 8 entrees, 5 sides and 10 extras. Due to being a gas station, there are no seats and it's carry out only. So I ordered 3 items: 1) Korean Fried Chicken Plate 2) Bulgogi Bibimbap 3) Galbi Smashburger. I didn't know what to expect but believe me when I say this, if you don't come and try this hidden gem, you are definitely missing out. When I took a bite out of the galbi smashed burger , that burger was so tender, juicy and delicious. It was topped with caramelized onions, truffle aioli, three mixed cheeses and served with thick fries. Though I order the Korean fried chicken plate, what I received was the Korean fried chicken wings which probably got mixed up with other orders behind me. The woman who was packing got a little fluster and possibly mixed up the orders, I didn't realize until I got home but these are a mixture of flats and drumettes that were served with a garlic aioli sauce. On the menu it listed 3 flavors of choice: sweet chili, soy garlic and gochujang buffalo. Though I didn't receive the correct order, the doubled fried chicken were crispy, tender and had deep enriched flavors with each bite. I would have loved to dipped the chicken in those other sauces that were listed. The bulgogi bibimbap was on point with the authenticity of the traditional Korean staple dish. This had all the components of steamed rice, marinated beef, daikon kimchi, sauté bean sprouts, zucchini, carrots, sesame seed, seaweed, gochujang sauce and topped with fried egg. Once you break the fried egg allowing the yolk to ooze out, mixed it all together and when those ingredients hit your palate, you won't be able to take just one bite. It was sweet, tangy, spicy and full of umami. The young chef in the kitchen is named Danny, he is whipping up all of these delicious recipes. Danny and the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Though it's inside a gas station, the atmosphere is comfortable. There are multiple ways to get to this small cafe but not from Rt. 1/ Emancipation Hwy going northbound. But if you are traveling southbound, it's on the corner of Emancipation Hwy and Hanson Ave, across from KFC and diagonally from Captain D on Princess Anne St. You can also drive on Fall Hill to Hanson Ave to Wallace St or if you are coming from downtown Fred'burg, you can take Riverside Dr to Woodford St. The cafe is opened everyday from 11a-7p but closed on Sundays. I will definitely make a return visit to try other items on their menu and hopefully to get that Korean chicken platter.

    Cheesesteak

When I say this cheesesteak is full of flavor, cheesy, and crispy, I mean it. The crunchy toasted roll and the sweet sauce on the tender meat works wonders together. The service was amazing, very nice employees and fast service with fresh food. Would recommend, will go again.

    Bulgogi fries

A friend and I stopped here since it was close. OMG! There was no talking because we were savoring every freaking bite. We shared the bulgogi fries and the fried chicken platter and are sad (but our waistlines are relieved) we live an hour away! SO GOOD!!!!!!

Unfortunately, from my taste, I found it very salty and greasy. The chicken was well flavored, but it was just way too salty for me I also tried their banana pudding and unfortunately, once again, at least from my taste, it was lacking the right flavors. However, it is very clean and well‑stocked. No baby changing table. The counter is right in the front as you walk in. We arrived around 4:30 PM, the place was empty, but by the time we left at 6:05 PM, four or five customers had come in, all ordering takeout. Two employees were working. Both were friendly and smiling, but service is strictly counter‑based. Restaurant seating is limited, 10 tables total. Drinks are refrigerated bottles and cans; there's no fountain drinks, cups, or ice. I personally found this very strange. The food is the highlight of Southern Style Chicken & Waffles . The chicken is served piping hot, and the fries are perfectly crispy. One important note: you can't order mixed chicken. It's either white meat or dark meat, so I had to order both platters and my father and I switched chicken around to get what we wanted. Meals come with one side, and extras are $4.99 each. Chicken orders start at three pieces, no smaller portions available. As for sides, the mac & cheese wasn't my favorite, though other's , including the guy, selling it, seemed to think it was great. My dad found the coleslaw just "so‑so" and said he would not order it again. Ratings: * Chicken: A+ * French fries: A+ * Mac & cheese: B‑ * Coleslaw: C+ Overall, the chicken and fries are excellent, and I plan to return to try their catfish, whiting and waffles, which I've heard are all very good. I gave it a four because of the lack of ice and cups and also due to the difficulty getting into the Restaraunt and the bathroom for those with mobility issues.

My oldest son ordered the 4 piece tenders (mild), with fries and a drink, my youngest son ordered a chicken sandwich combo mild, his girlfriend ordered macaroni and cheese and fries, my husband ordered the 4 piece tenders (no heat), and I ordered the 3 piece tenders (no heat), then we split the Joey Eat Fries, which are Boneless breast, Crimson sauce, slaw, pickles, and cheese, over a bed of Crimson fries. We ordered those with our chicken mild. I'm so happy we didn't order beyond mild, because I can't take too much heat, and the mild was too spicy for me, but perfectly spicy for my husband. For those that like very spicy, you will love the heat, it packs a punch! The tenders with no heat, still were amazing! Everyone in our group were highly satisfied with the size of the chicken tenders/sandwich, and were impressed with how juicy and fresh they were, without the greasy texture. My husband is picky about his chicken tenders, and said that these were by far his new favorites in the area. My son's girlfriend said that her Mac and cheese was great, and the fries were good too. But the Joey Eat Fries were fantastic! Sooo good and more than enough for two people to enjoy; massive, and a meal of their own. The only thing that left something to be desired, was the bread. Would have been better toasted with butter, and perhaps a toasted garlic bread option. Prices were comparable to other similar establishments. We were impressed with the friendly service, speed and delivery of the food, and the quality of the meals. Their grand opening is Monday, April 1st, make sure to check them out!
