Conservative length of sandwich for the price. Really wish the cheese fries had gotten a hit of salt when they came out of the fryer, and the gloop of cheddar melt between two layers of fries wasn't quite enough to get cheese on all of them. Wonderful customer service, great food! I had placed an online order while leaving the airport. The owner quickly called to see what time I'd be arriving so the food would be fresh. Unfortunately on our way home, a bad accident shut down 97 and we were stuck. I called to let them know I didn't forget and would be there as soon as the road reopened. I was 45 min passed our pick up time. The owner was so gracious and said he would remake the food to be fresh because the time had passed their standards. Drove for over 30 minutes just to come get a Jeno's steak & cheese, only to arrive to a sign hanging from a bakers rack in an open door saying they are closed because they are preparing for a catered event. How about managing better and being open while preparing. To completely tell one set of customers (walk-ins) that you are less important than catered customers is baffling to me. It's a shame. Even when I mentioned how far I drove just for their food, the young lady told me "Sorry, we re-open at 4"(3 hours later). You should be open to customers, not turning them away!!! read more

Had lunch there a few years ago that was great. Got a craving for cheese steaks the other day and talked my wife into giving it a try. Our sandwiches and onion rings were very tasty. Really good cheesesteaks but they are on the smaller size and expensive side on things. They do a lunch special which I think is a good deal as it includes fries and drink for around 10 bucks. I'm a huge fan of cheesesteaks so I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. I ordered a regular with lettuce, tom, mayo and provolone. I also ordered mozzerella sticks. Boy what a complete disappointment. The cheesesteak was sooo greasy the whole bun was soggy and slimy, It also had no cheese I could see, one thin slice of tomato cut in half and about 3 pieces of shredded lettuce. I ended up adding more of both before I ate it. Now the steak itself had a very unfavorable flavor...it bordered on tasting rancid. I really dont see how the person cooking couldnt tell from the smell. $30 down the drain on very poor quality food. I only ate a couple bites before it went in the trash. I gave it one star because I have to say the mozzerella sticks were stellar. Hot, crunchy and delicious but I won't be ordering from here any time soon. Money down the drain. Let's get one thing out of the way first; if you like aesthetic bells and whistles to look at while you order and eat your food, this may not be your cup of tea. Jeno's didn't set this place up to blow you away with the visuals - but I kind of found that appealing, honestly. If you want one of the better cheesesteaks south of the Mason-Dixon line, served by friendly, personable staff that take pride in their work, this is the place you want to go. I traveled from Howard County to find this place and left with a smile on my face before I had tasted a bite of food. My server, Jeff, was funny, polite, and took pride in his work. The sub itself was amazing. It wasn't super cheap (an 8" and a soda was about $10-11) but they don't use cheap ingredients. Real ribeye steak, some of the best bread I ever had on a sub from a local bakery in Baltimore. I've had much lower quality food for equal or lesser price. By the time I finished this meal I felt like I had gotten a bargain for my money. First time going and loved it, will definitely go back even though it is a 30 minute drive each way. It definitely fits the definition of a 'dive' but don't let that put you off. My husband and I went there for the first time this past Saturday. We were on our way to the movies and we wanted to grab lunch. We went inside and it's really small and probably can only seat a few people. it was also very warm but not unbearable. We each got a cheesesteak one with American and the other with provolone and they were both delicious. We will be going back there or visiting their food truck wherever we can find it. It's decent, but not the best you'll have in Maryland...not by a long shot. They came to the business park where I work, so i can't talk about the restaurant itself. Here are my takeaways. -The ribeye is good., but it could use some flavor. Mine tasted like it was the 90th sub to come off the grill that day. -There wasn't enough meat for me. The best cheesesteaks in my mind are overflowing with steak. And cheese, which also didn't wow me. We are Philadelphia natives, and have eaten cheesesteaks around the region and the country - Which my doctor says I have to stop. Now that we live in Severna Park, Jenos is our go to place for the cheesesteak fix. The meat is high quality, the veggies are fresh and crisp and the flavor is solid. The rolls are extremely fresh and soft and thoroughly enjoyable. When you combine them all you have a steak comparable to any you would get in Philly. The fries are amazing - quality potatoes and fried and seasoned to perfection. However, unless you get the weekday lunch special, their prices are a little high for the basic steak - and when you add the fries, the price really becomes hard to swallow. Considering it is a little hole-in-the-wall, it is hard to believe his costs are so high. Otherwise, this is a five star meal, and I enjoy it as often as i can. read more

Really disappointing. Having lived in Philly for years, these guys should change their name... Total injustice (regardless of spelling). We ordered 3 steaks, "buffalo bites" and onion rings. All of the steaks were overcooked and the sandwiches were under filled... All roll. For $8+ each... This was bad. To further disappoint, the buffalo bites, which anyone would associate as boneless wings, were actually chicken nuggets, of elementary school cafeteria quality, tossed in buffalo sauce. We had Jeno's cater our wedding reception, which we held at Jailbreak Brewery. We had around 105-120 people including staff and the band. At first we were worried about how well the food truck could keep up with demand with a fast influx, but it wasn't an issue ay all. The staff kept pumping out meals, and everyone LOVED it. (Also my family is from Philly, so quite a few cheese steak snobs... They loved it) The three things I hate about weddings is that 1) when dinner is served, not everyone is ready to eat. Some want to eat immediately, some want to wait. 2) the food isn't hot. And 3) you have to pick whatt you're going to eat months in advance. With Jeno's we had NONE of these issues, and people were able to eat as much as they wanted. The truck was amazingly well received. In particular, Rudy (the head of the truck), entertained the families while producing great food. He was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the planning process, and was very flexible with the menu (i.e. accommodating dietary restrictions). Finally, all that said, the bonus was that it was quite affordable. Fun, affordable, and great food - there was nothing to dislike. Everything was fantastic.
