I dropped my car off with them complaining that the car constantly jerks and convulses and I can't accelerate until the convulsions wear off. I also complained that it shakes and vibrates when I'm sitting idle at a light or drive-thru. Four days later when I picked up my "repaired" vehicle, NOTHING had changed!! Nothing! So they had me bring it back so a mechanic could ride with me. He acknowledged the things I described were in fact happening, but he tried to gaslight me and say it's perfectly normal for the car to violently jerk the way it does. In my 30 years of driving many, many cars, I have never had one do what this one does. I get p*ssed off every time I drive it. They didn't FIX a damn thing. Don't trust them with your car! read more

Zero stars. Only reason I even sent my wife to this dump was because of the discount coupon we got for this place. I sent my wife because I had to give blood and this fool took advantage of her. Lied to her about the prices, tried to insist it was full price ($60) because she didn't show him the coupon in time (she hadn't paid yet). Now I would have walked away, as would most people. Stoped into price out a tailpipe and tip replacement. They dont offer 3in exhaust only 2 1/2in. Ok I have heard this from other shops onto the tail pipe. Found the tip, asked for a total, $20 tip $25 labor able to do it now. Fine do it, the work is done, $75 total??? How can this be? Leon said $20 for the tip, $45 for labor and $5 for welding gas. I disagreed, he would not budge, not choice but to pay. I called my lawyer, he tells me that since I signed the quote AFTER the service was preformed, I am screwed. SO MAKE SURE YOU SIGN THE QUOTE BEFORE THEY TOUCH YOUR VEHICLE!! I will never go back and I do know of others that will never go back. read more

Short version: I am a woman they tried to sell an unneeded catalytic converter to. STAY AWAY. Long version: I was in a collision at the beginning of January so when my truck started making noises that sounded like a helicopter, I went back to the my insurance company's site and met with a mechanic from the collision center (A&G Collision) hoping it would be related and covered by insurance. Well no it was not related, so the mechanic refereed me to this shop, after telling me it was my catalytic converter. So I head down here and they look it over, confirming that I do need a new cat and that it was falling apart, and pieces were stuck in my muffler, and if they couldn't get it out they would have to replace that, too. Having my suspicions I went to another shop, where they put it on the lift and showed me how the the noise was coming from nowhere near the cat, and I would have to pay for a full diagnostic. So I called Jerauld's back and asked what kind of test they did. They told me "We OPENED the cat and it was smoking." Well ladies and gentleman you can't open a cat so they either think I am dumb, or they are just dumb themselves. So my friend told me to talk to Miguel at Tunes, Lube, and Smog and he looked at it for five minutes and told me the exhaust manifold had come loose. Nice, guy, will be having him fix it on Monday. So I saved $400 bucks by not going to Jerauld's! read more

This is mainly a COVID-19 review. It seems to be left up to individual employees whether they wear masks or not when dealing with the public. Those not wearing masks made no effort to keep a respectful distance from me while I was waiting; the walked closely past me, yelling for their co-workers. While there are signs on the windows of the small and under-ventilated office addressing the situation and requesting that those with symptoms stay out, the office was staffed by one of the men who wasn't wearing a mask. I was there for about 30 minutes and he never wore one, even when customers were at the counter and only two or three feet away. I didn't feel comfortable bringing it up while I was there, as I assumed I would be given a negative attitude about it. I did appreciate that the staff person actually doing the smog test wore a mask the whole time. I consider it disrespectful to request that a (masked) customer be asked to come in to close contact with an unmasked staff person who clearly does this all day long. As to the general service.... I don't expect much in terms of customer service when getting a smog test, and the men working there were basically courteous, so that was fine. I'm not sure if my coupon actually made a difference, and while I assume that smog test coupons are kind of a racket I would like to see evidence that I actually saved money. read more

I was trying to get my catalytic converters replaced in my neighborhood. I was told I needed to replace all 4.... @ 1500... A friend referred me to a friend who referred me to Jerauld's I drove from Escondido to let them diagnose it. Turns out, I only needed to replace 2 catalytic converters.... Of course, i made the decision for them to do the work. Dropped it off the following Saturday t (Short day) to get the work done. My car was ready on Wednesday, and running like I just drove off of the showroom floor , took it back for Smog Testing , PASSED The service and Customer Service I received was excellent!! read more

Had to return for limited-slip differential additive after another mechanic in Kearny Mesa said shuddering noise caused by failing to add this for a rear-end fluid change. My previous RV had exhaust leak and they took several days because of stuck bolt, then said they didn't want to risk breaking it. So I took it to Hansens muffler shop that got them out and fixed it. They have experienced people; but I'm not sure about their intelligence. They added the additive at no charge, but I lost some time off work. read more

I recently went here to get my check engine light checked on my car because I came here before to get my Cat converter replaced for $500 after a neighbor recommended them. When they tested my car, the cat converter they put was bad after only 11 months. They tested it more and informed me the 5 year converter warranty will not cover the cat converter being replaced, because my car's O2 Sensors and MAP Sensor were bad and supposedly caused the cat converter to go bad. BTW My car only has 1 converter, they showed me that it had something ringing inside of it by giving it a nudge, and that wasn't covered by warranty. They charged me $1000+ (parts, labor and tax) for these repairs including the new cat converter, the O2 sensors, MAP Sensor, spark plugs and fuel system cleaning. My car runs better after the repairs and I feel the difference, Yes my sensors were probably bad and caused the cat to have problems....However I will never come back here again because the price for the parts they charge were too much when I compared them online and the labor they charge seems unreasonable for me. They also have no other reputable online reviews and they are not BBB accredited so its difficult to trust a place like this. They make a profit over parts and you should question the quality of the parts when considering the price they put out. I feel a job like this should've been $300 to $400 less than what it should be. I have heard other places are good like Advantec and TK Auto Repair. Never again this place. read more
