On August 28th, I called the Olson agency because my father died and I needed insurance information to file my dad's 2016-2023 taxes for the IRS. I was told the agent needed to respond by email, so I sent a message. The following day the agent responded that it may be difficult given the nine year window. While somewhat understandable, we also live in the digital age where this information is often one click away. Regardless, I responded I needed anything with tax implications. Almost a week later, I get a response it will take another week. I'm sorry, but while I understand this included Labor Day weekend, it should not take two weeks to get this information. It took less than 48 hours to my dad's payment history from Puget Sound Energy, Recology, Seattle Utilities, and King County Property Tax and those are bigger organizations not known for their speed. To add insult-to-injury, as I continued sorting through my dad's paperwork, I happened to find papers in 2024 for a $1,600 transaction premium. This wasn't information wasn't included in the email sent, which means I can't write it off. And it makes me suspicious if there was more not shared. I'm not clear why it's worth paying a premium for their service when you can't get reasonable service when you need it. Go look at the rest of the Yelp reviews and you'll see that with these issues, I'm not alone. Instead, I'd consider another insurance company. read more

I received a letter from Jeremy Olson about how I could reduce my homeowner's insurance and decided to respond to him at jeremyolson@allstate.com. No response from him or his agency whatsoever, which makes me think the letter I received is a scam. However, the email wasn't rejected so I assume it went to the right person as directed in the correspondence. What is dismaying is the lack of response and based on many of the reviews I am reading, perhaps this is divine order. I would suggest that if anyone receives a letter from Jeremy to simply shred and move on because you won't receive any response from him or Allstate. read more

I have received a "priority quote offer" in mail. The details of my property in terms of build year and square footage were correct and the coverage about what I needed. The quote was for $1496.5 / year. Intrigued I gave them a call and after 10 minutes of details verification and reducing a bit the coverage as I needed less than what they originally put in the letter I was told that paid in full the policy would be $29xx. Stay Away from Jeremy Olsen Allstate I've been a loyal customer of Jeremy Olsen's Allstate office for over 20 years, so it pains me to write this review -- but people need to be warned. Without any notice or communication, my auto insurance was canceled. I only discovered this after logging into my online portal and realizing I had been driving uninsured for 90 days. The only thing still active on my policy was renters insurance. No call, no email, no letter -- nothing. Ryan Ross was my representative. I spoke with him multiple times and was assured everything was fine. It wasn't. I had to repeatedly follow up and push just to get clarity. In the end, I was forced to find a new insurance provider -- which is now costing me hundreds of dollars more per month because of this lapse in coverage. This is not just bad service -- it's dangerous. If you're looking for an insurance provider, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. This office is negligent and unprofessional. read more

After being a client for 22 years and only having 2 claims, I was just dropped. The 2 claims were in this past 3 years, so I guess if you have no claims for 19 years and have 2 unfortunate accidents happen in 3 years, your business is no good. They sent a form letter, nothing personal from my agent apologizing. Actually, it turned out to be a good thing. I just got insurance through a different company with more coverage and cheaper! After several calls on different phones from what seemed to be the same call center, I decided to provide my phone number to see what happened. I get a call 45 minutes later from them trying to sell me insurance. If I want insurance, I'll call you... I came from Allstate in the last state that I lived and this office is a nightmare. -The gentleman who took down my account number evidently didn't do any active listening therefore he wrote down my incorrect bank account number...but failed to tell me it did not go through until almost 2 months after when Allstate corp sent me an email saying that I was not paid in yet to my policy. -I would ask him for something and it will take 2-3 times of asking to get anything about my policy-seriously? It is my policy I have paid up just give me what I am looking for. -Then after my last email the Sr. Advisor I was working with invited me to call any of their other agents at any of their other 25 locations here in Seattle...Well if you are inviting me to leave...I will surely go...no problem there. But he surely did in a passive aggressive manner told me to have a great day! -When I did first start this policy with this office the gentleman on the phone was bragging about how this office was the best in Seattle-I haven't seen the fruits of that labour or that lie yet. December 5 of 2016 they said I had a $2500 deductible that I've never seen the paperwork when I asked then and again and again w/o evidence of my agreement to a change in my policy to save $2.03 cents. think twice before signing up with Allstate. I was not in good hands. While this review isn't necessarily with Jeremy's group and more so with Allstate Insurance, I cannot give a low enough score. My wife and I decide a change of scenery and moving to great state of Washington. We buy a nice house with 8 acres outside of Arlington in late July. The house was built and lived in by a nice couple for the last 20 years, the house is fully ready to move in, turn key. Fast forward 4 months, my company is releasing a new product and it's all hands on deck so we have not moved in yet. We have gone down to the house twice and our cousin is checking up on the property but in the week before Thanksgiving, thieves hit our place. They were construction savvy, because they cut out and stole materials like our furnace, water heater, kitchen cabinets and sinks, doors, garage doors, leaving our place gutted. The electrical, plumbing, water tanks, furnace were all cut and required professionals to reconnect it, they didn't just disconnect these services, they cut it. We make a claim and I begged the advisor to make this an emergency because our place is now open to the weather. They assured me that they would send assessor and advisor would call me asap and discuss emergency remediation like boarding up the doors and allowance for me to stay in hotel and address these issues locally (I am in a different state). 7 days after opening a claim, advisor leaves 1 vm identifying adjuster, multiple calls and VMs later, 16 days later the adjuster informs me he is no longer the adjuster for the case and the new adjuster would call me asap. after even more calls, 20 days later, Nicole Diedrich - my new adjuster calls and tells me in her 10+ years of realtor experience, there is no malicious intent and no theft has occurred and that it looks like it was professionally demo'd. She follows up with they won't be paying for anything and a day later tells me to prepare for EUO (examination under oath) stating they want some clarification on what happened, that it was theft and not someone I hired. We actually hired a company to install cameras and board up the property, actually filming the thieves stealing more stuff.. They delayed all their responses, rarely called back to return my phone calls and / or had lot of days off and passed our claim back and forth different people for weeks. They promised to take care of us in this situation and really in the end - total of 78 days later, stuck us in front of lawyers and then promptly dismissed our claim, stating we didn't occupy the property 30 days prior to the loss. Which I stated to their agent, when we bought / insured the property, 2 months into ownership, and when we started the claim. How many Washington people leave their properties unoccupied for more than 30 days, I hope you don't have Allstate insurance. BTW our lawyer says this is 100% within their rights to treat a homeowner this way, leave you paying the mortgage for months so you're broke while they delay / stall tactics, hire lawyers and stick it to you. Check out Allstate's reviews, they might look alright on paper, but they have the worst reputation once a customer goes through a claim with this company. read more

I have had a policy on my house for nearly 20 years thru this agency. I recently put my house up for sale and get a call out of nowhere from their agent stating "we see you have listed your house, just wanted to let you know we sent an inspector out to your house and took pictures of your roof, we noticed some granular loss and moss" I corrected her that granular loss is impossible with a metal roof, her response was "oh didn't realize it was metal, ok we'll take care of this" that was in June 2021. On 7/21/2021 I get notification from my mortgage company that they don't have property insurance on file, I look up my Allstate account and it says it was canceled as of 7/9/2021 I call them and ask why and I'm told that I do not have a metal roof so they cancelled me. They sent notification to an old address that i don't live at anymore even though they had my new address and didn't even question not getting a response from me. So my house sat uninsured for 15 days without my knowledge. Once I found out I provided them with a copy of my inspection that was done when I bought the house that says the roof has a metal covering and they said that wasn't good enough, said they won't even take the appraisal from my new buyer. My appeal was denied and they will not reinstate my insurance. I have filed a complaint with the WA state insurance commissioner. I find it real suspect that in 20 years there was never an inspection done and now that they find out I'm selling it they decide to find a reason to cancel my policy. You are welcome for all my money and you never had to do a thing! read more

If it were possible, I would give this a negative score. Due to their negligence Jeremy Olson's agency and in specific the agent 'Sonia' with their company has caused me over $7,000 in penalties to my auto loan lender. Sonia my insurance agent, 'forgot' to add my credit card information (as documented and discussed with her) to reinstate my auto loan insurance information (due to a stolen credit card) to her All State under righter and because of this I'm paying the price in over $7,000?! Not to mention the countless double charge to my account, then issuing a credit, which has happened on multiple occasions. Use any other insurance besides this Jeremy Olson's agency, his agent Sonia was terribly rude over the phone, worse customer service. I'm now dealing with a very large penalty due to one of Jeremy Olson's employees. Needless to say, I will be switching insurance agencies. read more

I've never left a complaint with the BBB before. That's how bad my experience with Allstate was. I signed up for renters insurance online. I began receiving calls from Allstate at 2am daily. When I answered the phone, I was hung up on. When I let it go to voicemail, they explained that they were calling me about a quote I had started online. Which I'd already purchased. I contacted Jeremy to explain that I was getting these disruptive, harassing phone calls, and he assured me they would stop. Well, he told me Erica would stop calling me. The calls continued, except instead of the same person calling me, it was a different Allstate person. I let Jeremy know, and he said he'd look into it. A week later, I was still receiving the calls, so I blocked the numbers involved. On the bright side, even though his company harassed me for weeks with 2am calls to close a sale they'd already made, Jeremy was quite understanding that I'd want to take my business elsewhere. He's promised a full refund as my coverage hasn't started. If that doesn't pan out, I'll be back. read more

I then moved out east, and there was some mixup with cancellation of my insurance. After being insured with Allstate in California I had no qualms about transferring to to Jeremy Olson up here in Seattle. Unfortunately this turned out to be quite the hassle. After a very friendly setup by Sonia it seemed like all was going to be great - until my auto-pay was somehow turned off without any email notification - so for some time I was driving without insurance and not knowing it. (Somehow my renters insurance renewed just fine) I notified Sonia and she worked to rectify - however the bill doubled on one of the auto-pays and there was no notification of the discrepancy. This has been a headache and a disappointment. Looks like I'm not the only one who has run into this issue. Buyer beware on this one. read more

They seemed wonderful at first but after an in depth in person meeting to discuss options, paperwork to sign up for a policy and then payment for 6 months of insurance they say I was denied (a few weeks after I paid the lump sum) after they took my money! It turns out I must be added to my husband's insurance policy as opposed to having my own insurance which is totally fine by me! However, I was told it was okay while we were creating my policy and that is why I needed to pay. It was extremely unfortunate that after taking my money and then telling me I am denied, to then say I will need to wait for a refund check in the mail until next week at the earliest. This is unacceptable. DO NOT GO TO THIS BRANCH! There are many other Allstate branches that will never do this to a client. read more

I recently moved to Seattle and found myself needing renters/auto insurance. I'm the type of person that likes to get the most value for their $$$. So, being a diligent consumer on a budget I did a lot of research before I decided to go with Steve and Allstate. I told him right up front that I was just in the beginning stages of shopping and that I wasn't going to be making any decisions that day. Despite me telling him that, he still took the time to explain and wasn't pushy. He didn't try to sell me more insurance than I needed; but still provided me with the best coverage I could get based on cost. There may be "cheaper" insurance companies out there; but trust me when I say-- you get will get what you pay for! It's worth it to spend a little extra and go with Steve/Allstate. Jeremy Olson Allstate Insurance has been really great. They go out of their way to make sure that you are treated well in a no-pushy environment. They are also there too if you do have a problem and follow up afterwards to make sure that everything went well. My contact agent in Steve Harris. Steve helps me in so many ways, I hope that I can give you a good idea of what you are missing not to have this agency behind you. They help with the following: They help make the payments over the telephone when they are duem, they help give you advise if you need coverage or not when you are renting a car, they look to save money for you if possible by recommending only what is needed, my agent also helps with questions that I have on my out of state properties covered by Allstate. However, it is easier for me to make contact with Steve and there are no time differences and Steve usually can find the info that I need within a very short time or he calls or e-mails me back right away. Steve also helps with with paying bills to Hagerty Insurance which is affiliated with Allstate. Steve gets my reimbursements of my towing and road service to me usually in no later than a week. When we were hti by another vehicle, they made it easy to go to whereever we wanted and they took care of the rest including rental car. Steve also took care of our infant! How many agents do this? Perhaps some of the other agents at this agency like Charlie who does a nice job filling in for Steve by always trying to serve the customer and make his co-workers life easier. Jeremy, the owner, follows up from time to time to make sure that the customer is happy with the service that they received. He even gives out things like lottery tickets or coupons for a meal when filling out his survey and other niceties to show his appreciation. Is Allstate the least expensive insurance? Not sure and probably not. I have no reason to shop around. However, I can say that they are financially sound to take care of you in a good way when you do need their help. What is the point of finding cheap insurance that provides lousy service and nickels and dimes you on repairs or what not when you do have a problem? I've been with this agency for a number of years (happily) but just stated working with Steve Harris as I had some questions on my policy and needed some follow-up with my mortgage lender. Steve is super responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. He patiently explained some of the jargon included in a letter from my lender answered all my questions and took care of the documentation the lender needed (because really, who has a fax machine in their home...anyone?). Also, he returns calls quickly which I appreciate. Because nobody enjoys dealing with insurance stuff. So it was nice to get it over with and have a good experience on the phone. read more

After 12+ years of using Jeremy Olson to insure every car and home that my wife and I have owned, we received a cancelation letter for insurance on our home. No one called, no one asked us any questions and no one came out to visit the house, we just received a letter of cancelation. Surprised and confused by this, being that I can't think of a single dollar that we have received from AllState for a claim that we have ever filed, we called into the office for clarification. At that time, they stated that some pictures of the home were taken prior to us owning it and that the home had chipped paint and that there were low hanging trees that triggered this action. Admitting that the pictures were a year old and prior to us taking ownership of the home AllState was willing to get new pictures for consideration. We explained that we purchased this home 9 months prior and replaced siding, painted and cleared land prior to even moving in. If anyone would have visited to take pictures within the last 9 months that we have owned it, they would have found that any concerns that they had prior would be quickly put to rest. We then responded by sending pictures to prove this. After sending in the pictures we considered the issue resolved but were left with a bad taste in our mouth after 12 years patronage. A month later we received another contact from Jeremy's office that they needed additional pictures. Apparently there were no longer any concerns about the house, the grounds or anything of value that they insure, but we have fun bus stop at the end of our street, 100 yards from the house. We keep the bus stop in nice condition, but because our neighbor's tree reaches over the roof the issue of cancelling our policy had not yet been resolved. This little structure has no value and contains nothing of value. It is the equivalent of a nice dog hose being on our property, but we were still at risk of losing our coverage over a tree a neighbor's tree and a dog house. Utterly frustrated with the situation and feeling a bit betrayed by Allstate I decided to call the person contacting us about needing more pictures. Although the man was perfectly friendly he infuriated me when he told me that he was surprised that I was so upset. As if I shouldn't be upset that I am being threatened with losing my coverage after 12 years and tens of thousands of dollars paid to Allstate to be cancelled without them even being willing to come out and see how absurd the whole situation actually was. Apparently it was our responsibility to defend ourselves to them. Our business wasn't important enough to them to take ownership of the situation and help us to resolve the situation. Perhaps the days of having a mutual respect for your clients is over, but it is truly a shame. read more

Had a very bad experience with this company. They were quoting me home and auto insurance for a new home purchase. I disclosed an earlier minor accident in the first conversation with the rep, Sarah. She made multiple quotes for me and pressured me to sign up ASAP. Only when I was calling her to actually pay her for the policy in full, at the advice of my old rep at Geico, did I press her--"are you sure you REALLY factored in that prior accident?" --did she hastily admitted she had not, and told me the rates I'd actually pay would be $400 more than all of her quotes. She blamed this on not having my driver's license initially although she'd never asked for it prior to that AND she had been informed of this accident from Day 1. (Also - my Pemco agent was able to give me an accurate quote without a driver's license - so even this excuse seems dubious.) She took no responsibility and basically said "sorry you're mad about your own accident." I emailed Jeremy Olsen about this really bad customer experience and he never replied. I would not recommend this agency for bait-and-switch sales tactics, false quotes and poor customer service.This was just an unnecessary stress to deal with when purchasing a home. read more

I am in contact with the Seattle office and I always receive very prompt, helpful and complete responses to all of my questions. I've been with this insurance for a decade and never had any issues. The level of professionalism was topnotch. It wasn't until this year when I notice the new staff have no clue about insurance policies and are completely incapable of answering simple question regarding my policy coverage or at least direct me with someone with more experience. I called the office several times regarding a claim, I submitted all the paperwork several by email and fax. The first time I emailed Kyle Firstenberg and he never responded. The second time I submitted my claim with Sonia Sciscente she assured me the claim had been faxed to the corresponding department just yesterday and it will be presses within 48 hours. Well I submitted the claim at least two weeks previously. She said she was going to call me back. She never called. I emailed her the next day and she did not apologized for not calling. She just repeated what she had said previously. This is the same person I spoke to the first time I need information about towing and she was very indecisive about my coverage and what phone number I should be calling for the towing services. She gave a wrong number and they were trying to charge me upfront for the services after she had said I didn't have to pay upfront. This people need to be informed well. She was also extremely rude when I called back to get the correct number for the towing services. I have never been so disrespected in my entire life. I will not do business with this insurance company going forward and will NOT recommend it to friends and family. Take your business somewhere else. read more

I signed up online for an Allstate insurance policy. After 2days I had not yet received any phone calls or information about my policy. I contacted the 1-800 customer service number to inquire. They explained that the policy would be 7 dollars a month more then previously quoted. This was told to me of course after paying the start up fee. I contacted the Jeremy Olsen office in mercer island and asked to cancel my policy and stay with my current company. He explained that he cancelled the policy and I will see a refund. After 2weeks I later was told my policy was never cancelled and I was misled. This is poor customer expercience and untrust worthy information. The customer service agent said they saw I called and wrote emails to cancel my policy, but the agent did not follow through. This led to me not getting a full refund despite the fact that I still had insurance with my original issuer. Please verify any info given to you at this location to ensure great service. read more
