Called in an order for a whole chicken dinner and wasn't informed that they don't sell that instead I was rung up for a half chicken order. Once I got home I noticed it wasn't even a half chicken. I did receive a leg wing And a thigh but what they gave me for a breast was just a small strip of the breast. Definitely wasn't worth it. The cabbage was very mushy but the flavor of the chicken was on point. I will go back again but I will definitelycheck the order before I leave. I'm a huge jerk chicken fan and I am VERY critical when it comes to the quality of the chicken. I hate when an establishment marinates the chicken in a so-called jerk marinate and call it jerk chicken. Authentic jerk is grilled on an actual grill and has clear evidence chard on the chicken. The best jerk restaraunts are located in the city. However, Jerk n Go has been the closest to it in the South Suburbs. I would give them 5 stars but their hours reflect a college student taking classes on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I've never known a restaurant closed on a Friday, they are actually closed on these days. The chicken was good and moist and the yams were awesome...not too sweet. The staff isn't over the top nice but are friendly enough to patronize them again. Many jerk establishments are known for not looking all that clean. I can say Jerk n Go gets an "A" in the sanitary category and that is important. I've only been here twice so I can't recommend any other dishes. I noticed this place while driving and decided to try it out as they seem new to the area. Very nice open feel inside. I got the 6 jerk wing dinner. I wanted Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes as my 2 sides, but they didn't have sweet potatoes so I got green beans instead. and a Carrot cake slice for dessert. Wings: the chicken seasoning is pretty much what you'd expect on jerk chicken. I then added the sauce which was slightly better than other places I've tried--so I liked it. Green Beans: a slightly spicy canned green bean--so just ok. I didn't finish it all. Mac n Cheese: I wanted to love it but there just was not enough cheese. It was mostly Macaroni with nothing in it--so disappointing. Carrot Cake: Was denser than your typical carrot cake. had no nuts or carrot shredding in it..however it was delicious. It look minimal but don't let that fool you--loved it. Found this place on yelp. I had a craving for West Indian food and this was the most conveniently located place on my trip home. I ordered the oxtails and my daughter had the the dark chicken. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. I was getting into the music, some of which I hadn't heard in years. The oxtails was good. It wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. My daughter liked her dark chicken and she also thought it wasn't as spicy as she expected. Overall, a good experience. Only negative, don't air dirty laundry in public. I used to love this place. However, this is the second time I've gone on a Sunday and the food was terrible. The cabbage was super soggy and tasted old, the chicken had slimy stuff on it and was half done. It also didn't taste anything like jerk chicken. Im so happy i found this place. Each time i find a new jamaican place i always start with the jerk chicken, for if thats not good i dont trust the place. The jerk ckicken, i had the mix chicken dark and white, rice and peas and cabbage as my sides. The portion was huge!!! The chicke was moist and tendse with great smoke flavor and the jerk sauce, i was give normal and spicy jerk sauce. Both were amazing the spicy was a little to hot for me. The jerk chicken is so moist with flavor throughout. You can tell it's carefully prepared and not just grilled chicken with jerk sauce. I always complete my meal with sides. There are several options to choose from but my favorite are the macaroni, cabbage and sweet potatoes. My mouth is weathering sitting here thinking about this deliciousness! I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I ordered the jerk wing dinner with 2 sides plus I added a side of plantain. My order was ready in about 10min and the food was hot and delicious. The wings were a little small but the flavor was nice and spicy with the jerk sauce. Finally a Jamaican restaurant that's not afraid to turn the heat up! I came in to pay after the 30 minutes and still had to wait for over an hour to get my food.
