This place as quickly become my go to spot for Jamaican cuisine it's great for a takeout and they do have some options to sit in. I will say get here early or call ahead of time because they often run out of things on the menu. When they do have stuff in stock, it is delicious. I absolutely loved their oxtail and my sister said they're curry goat is amazing. I came here and the food was decent and came out very quick. It was homestyle cooking. I was hoping for bigger portions as me and my son shared a large size but it seemed it would of been better to get the smaller individual sized one. We wanted something different. Located on the corner of Aloma and 436. I think most people order for pickup, but there are plenty of tables to dine in. They only have restroom. They play music at a moderate level. It's a simply decorated place. My husband ordered the stew chicken and said it was okay. They didn't have jerk oxtail. I ordered the regular oxtail, which I thought was good. It wasn't dry. It was nice with the white rice. I would come back to try other dishes on the menu. read more

Red flags there were no customers, when you walk in you don't really smell the food. My family is Caribbean so don't call it jerk chicken if it's not. When I arrived at 4:11pm, I was advised the jerk chicken wasn't ready. So I asked what else do they recommend she said the jerk chicken. so I waited 30mins. Small Jerk Chicken- tasted like it was bbq chicken with a jerk sauce (store bought sauce at that). Jerk chicken needs to be cooked on a grill to give it that backyard smokiness. And based with the sauce through the cooking process. Rice& peas- no flavor- no coconut, no ginger, no thyme. Cabbage- still crunchy, lack depth in flavor. So definitely not the cooked all the way, reminded me of a cabbage salad. I ate it, but will not return because if I want Jamaican food I want the real thing. read more

After the original owner reopened, everything changed for the better. The food is finally back to the original recipes and you can truly taste the difference -- fresh, flavorful, and just like it used to be. Every dish was delicious and full of authentic taste. The food is authentic & delicious! We had this for our office lunch and enjoyed the Beef, Chicken, Shrimp & Veggie Patties, Oxtail, Jerk Oxtail, Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Stew Chicken with cabbage, rice & peas. The owner/cook, Winston Garwood help bring the food out to my car and made sure it was secure to avoid spills. We are looking forward to doing future lunches here. This restaurant is located in a plaza. I pass by pretty often. The lady taking orders was pleasant. It was pretty early so it was empty. I ordered two patties which didn't make it home lol. They were tasty fresh and were filled pretty good. I also ordered curry goat and a roti. The goat was falling off the bone tender but not a lot of seasoning. The roti was a bit hard for my liking but paired with the goat it was good. I would come back not the best Jamaican food but overall it was good. read more

This lounge has very chill vibe, authentic food, the owners are friendly and have a passion for cooking! The jerk chicken plate was plentiful. The two sides I chose was the Mac & cheese and the cabbage. The jerk chicken was seasoned well and had a kick of heat. It was a little drier than I would have like, but still really good. Recently I went and honestly I was actually very disappointed, The lady in the front was very nice amazing customer service the food was very stale, the chicken was literally bones and the bits of meat were so hard not good, the rice was flavorless and dry! I also had the jerk pork but that was actually a 10/10! Amazing flavor inside and out the jerk pork! Even though it's from the oven, not a actual grill lady attitude was rude too when I told her the chicken was not cooked. She said what you gonna do with it. If I could leave NO STARS I absolutely would. The food was absolutely terrible. I placed a to go order over the phone when I got there I hardly had any food in my plate. I dang there had to argue with the lady to put more food in my plate. Finally, she changed her attitude went in the back and got more food. Also, since when is rice and peas considered as a side with oxtails? anyway, the food was very very nasty. It was cold. The oxtails had a whole bunch of fat hardly any meat. Staff was very attitudey when I walked in, not welcoming at all, the place was dark, and dingy I didn't like the vibes. The food was terrible, Cabbage was dry, the macaroni and cheese that I ordered as a side was very nasty and old and spoiled tasting ( how does cheese completely separate from the noodle??????????). The food also smelled spoiled after moving the oxtails and eating some of the rice. This was the worst Caribbean food I had ever had in my life do not order from here you might get very sick I should not have left a tip, but I am a good person and they probably need it more than I do. After seeing a post on twitter about jamaican oxtail, I immediately had a craving for some. So I hopped on my mobile delivery apps to find a good jamaican spot to order from, something new. I came across Jerk Spot Lounge and after looking at its interesting menu and website, I decided to give it a chance, I ordered an large express oxtail meal that was to come with cornbread and cabbage, and I chose peas and rice for my rice dish. When my food arrived and I opened the container, words could not describe how disappointed I was, I received a container full if rice and 4 pieces of the smallest, thinnest, driest, unseasoned pieces of oxtail (I'm not even sure if it could be called oxtail). It lacks color, and tasted a bit overcooked or leftover. The amount of oxtail was pathetic. I was so upset over these oxtail I didn't even realize I didn't get my sides that were included with the meal, no cabbage or cornbread in sight. I suggest they study some of the other jamaican spots in Orlando and make better changes immediately. This place was not It! read more
