We paid $200 for a non working recliner in the clearance section for my 90yr old mom and set up a truck and 2 men to help us move the chair the following day. We arrived at 5:35PM. The store refused to release it, claiming pickups must be before 5:30, even though they're open until 9 Pm and the website says pickups are until 6pm. We did not need their help with anything. The chair was in the clearance section and already paid for. We work and all have busy lives and for them to refuse to let us pick up an item we paid for after coordinating with other people to come help us get this chair for my mom is ridiculous. This rule was not disclosed at the time of purchase. Holding a paid item is unreasonable and unprofessional. I will be speaking to upper management about this and will not shop here again. San Marcos is a small town and as a business owner myself who interacts with many clients on a daily basis this is not a good look for Jerome's. I paid over 2.5k for my mattress to be shipped and delivered, before asking about delivery I mentioned that I lived on Camp Pendleton and mentioned that the drivers would need to have base access, the worker Carlos told me to my face that Jerome's has specific drivers to make the delivery. I had to reschedule not once not twice but three times to get my mattress. I ended up having to strap my new mattress onto the top of my car and drive it in myself and unload it by myself. Mind you I paid 120$ for it to be delivered and for them to take my old mattress which they weren't able to. Extremely disappointing. I was lied to all because he wanted to make a sale. I am extremely disappointed with both the warranty process and the way this company determines whether a mattress is defective. After only 2 1/2 years, my mattress has lost its support and noticeably sags when anyone lies on it. It causes uncomfortable body impressions and no longer provides the support you would expect from a premium mattress that cost over $4,500 - Aireloom Mattress top of the line! The frustrating part is that the warranty inspection does not evaluate how the mattress performs under normal use. Instead, they stretch a string across the mattress and measure only the visible compression of the top foam layer. Unless that foam has compressed at least 1 1/2 inches with no weight on the bed, the warranty claim is denied. The problem is that mattresses don't only fail because the top foam compresses. The support layers, coils, and internal structure can break down while the surface still appears relatively flat when no one is lying on it. As a result, the mattress can sag dramatically under a person's weight yet still "pass" the warranty test. For a company selling luxury mattresses, this warranty standard does not reflect how customers actually experience the product. A mattress should be evaluated based on whether it continues to provide proper support--not simply whether the top foam has compressed by an arbitrary measurement. I expected far better durability and customer service from a mattress at this price point. Unfortunately, I would not purchase from this company again. A warranty that only measures the compression of the top foam layer can miss the real problem: **loss of support from the mattress's underlying comfort layers or coils**. Walked into the store yesterday at 3pm. One guy started walking to the front older white gentleman. I help my elderly neighbor so it was the two of us. She needed to try out a firm adjustable mattress. We asked him if he had any of the floor and without saying hello or anything says you need to go to the customer service desk and ask them. When we were walking towards the customer service desk. About 3 other gentleman walked past us didn't greet us or ask if we needed any help. My elderly neighbor sat on a sofa while I went to customer service desk because it was towards the back right of the store. So she got a little tired. When I approached the customer service desk I had told the guy how she wanted to try a firm mattress . He said there was some in the show room and pointed me into the direction or I could wait for a salesman. From the first interaction from the first salesman that we encountered, I really didn't want to speak to a salesman. We walked over to the adjustable mattresses showroom. While we were walking to the showroom. The same salesman that didn't greet us or even take a second look at us. Was at the front door greeting a middle age couple and their young child. I laughed because he didn't take a second glance when greeting them but rudely didn't greet us or want to help us. I am in the car industry business so I know about salesman and how they just want the big commission. I just thought as a furniture store first impression and word of mouth is a lot nowadays. Rude and ignorant salesman like him are the reason people shop online. Once we reached the showroom, one salesman was already helping out a customer and another as well. I simply asked one salesman if he could just point us in the direction of firm mattresses. He took the moment to ask if we were greeted or showed the customer service desk I responded no we were not greeted. He took the time to apologize and say he was more than happy to help us after he helped out the older gentleman he was helping. Andre was the ONLY salesman willing to take the time and effort to talk and help us. He had a smile on and was ready to help. I truly appreciate people like him. The service is ok, but they realy don't have enough people working in their warehouse when they are crowded. The quality of their products is about average. I'm giving one star because of the general uncomfortable feeling there is from the second you walk in there. You can literally see multiple sales people staring at you the second you walk through the door, and one will approach you within a very short amount of time. When you say we're just browsing for a bit, the salesperson literally followed us around the store 50 ft away watching everything we were doing, ready to pounce the second we said anything positive. We were looking for living room furniture and were able to find what we wanted a good prices. Thomas was the sales representative who assisted us and he made it easy and fast. The contracts were handle efficiently and fast at the desk. The two men who loaded a recliner into our vehicle did a great job making it work. The 4 year protection plan is a great value and includes the feature that if not used during the 4 years a store credit is issued to us for the amount of the purchase. However, after approximately four months, they began--pardon the idiom--to fall apart at the seams. I've purchased three sofas and other furniture from Jerome's over the years, so I knew not to expect extreme durability; my down-filled sofas lost feathers much faster than anticipated. But for these pillows to fall apart after only four months was unexpected. Because they were clearance items, I was told, "There is nothing we can do for you." As a San Diego native, I have a household of Jeromes furniture purchased over 30+ years. My family also purchased from them for many years. It's always been my first stop when looking for a new addition based on their selection and value. However, my opinion of Jeromes is now degraded significantly based on our May, 2023 purchase of a $5,000 sectional couch from the San Marcos store. We were talked into purchasing a 4-year extended warranty ($400), which sounded like a good idea at the time for such an expensive, electric recliner couch with 6 USB ports. We have always declined such a policy with all other purchases. Over the last year, the USB ports began to stop working. Last month, we remembered about the extended warranty and initiated a claim with Furniture Protection Company. Our claim was denied (despite it being a current, active policy today). They're reason was that we didn't open the claim when the first USB ports began to stop working over the last year, which is the most ludicrous reason we've ever heard. We contacted Jeromes for their support. Although they were initially sympathetic (stating they had heard from other customers with similar issues with Furniture Protection Company and were no longer working with them), Jeromes ultimately would not help us in any way and actually "sided" with the warranty company. Shame on Jeromes and Furniture Protection Company of Oklahoma! Steer clear of this warranty company! Check out the complaints logged against the warranty company on the Better Business Bureau website and on Yelp. We will post there as well and will be opening a claim with the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services for a remedy from either company. Our local news consumer advocate will also be notified and we will no longer trust Jeromes with our furniture needs in the future since they apparently didn't bother to conduct any due diligence before contracting with such a horrible warranty company and encouraging their customers to purchase their policies. read more

Jerome's has been at the top of our list for 25 yrs. We decided to skip the big mattress stores and give them a shot. To our surprise, they had some very nice beds. Subsequently, in 2019, we decided to buy one of their top of the line mattresses. It was great for the first two years then around 2.5 years later I started to have restless nights and couldn't figure out what was going on since I am a great sleeper, no insomnia, and have never had issues falling or staying asleep. I realized that my lower back discomfort was waking me up and it was due to a very soft spot on one side of the bed. We've had many mattresses before so we know that rotating (and/or flipping depending on the mattress) is key in keeping the mattress healthy and comfortable. I went into Jerome's to see what could be done. They sent their technician out to assess the problem. This was at the end of 2020 so COVID restrictions were in place which meant he was able to come over but wearing a mask, gloves, etc. He took out his tools, measured the bed height along with some other measurements and made it look legitimate. However, throughout the whole assessment, he never touched the bed. He never sat on it, didn't push on it, didn't do anything to test the integrity of the mattress/springs, etc. He left, wrote up the report, and I later found that his findings concluded that nothing was wrong with the mattress. His assessment was quite the joke. A couple or few months later I went back into the San Marcos' Jerome's to speak with a manager about the mattress warranty and the fact that we had a bad mattress. This is only 2.5 to 3 years of ownership which the "warranty" is 10 years (read the small print then read it again). Long story short...they sent the same guy back to our house to do the same assessment and tests. ONCE again...he did not touch our bed...didn't sit on it...push on it...compare sides, etc. Big waste of time and at that point I understood why they hired him. A great show and nothing was done. We do not complain...we typically roll with the punches and accept things for what they are. However, we have spent alot of money at Jerome's and this bed wasn't cheap. All I wanted was to exchange it or maybe even get a credit so we could buy a different one. Nothing was offered to us...nothing. Their warranty is a joke and their integrity is tarnished. We gave them plenty of opportunities and they failed. There are way too many options out there and Jerome's will not get our business ever again. If you ask their sales associates about the warranty on their beds...they will not tell you all of the details. I hope this helps. read more

I purchased an entire living room set on Jan 22-2026, and also purchased the furniture care protection for 300.00. The salesman Michael Fulton was great to deal with , he explained the protection plan in detail , but unfortunately left out a major part of the. This care plan was only good for 5 days of purchase, my cushion had a tear on the seam , when you call furniture care protection place , there very terrible to deal with , my claim was made on 3-21-20 , that's 2 months of the original purchase, they don't call you back , you the customer have to do all the leg work , after repeated emails and pictures, they called me today 4-16-26 to tell me it's not covered. I've tried to reach out to Jerome's just to let them know my concerns and as a long time customer what I had experienced , you can't talk to a person , now I have to drive over to speak to someone, I'm not looking for anything other than, to let them know that there warranty people are horrible, and maybe have some compassion. I am a big fan of Jerome's ! Their price point is perfect for me and I still have one piece of bedroom furniture I bought in 1997! My current bedroom set is from online Jeromes outlet ( The Hacienda )and I love it except the drawer handles have the color coming off on my frequently used drawers. I suppose I can figure out how to fix it. I have a coffee table and end table as well as a giant area rug from Jeromes and they always have what I need! I worked with Tyler over their chat service online and went into meet him and to try out the leather recliner sectionals. He was very informative, and I narrowed it down to two different types. I went in today for a second time, and he just waited in the background while I sat on different pieces and had some questions for him. I am about ready to pull the trigger, but I never felt pressured! Additionally, I bought my old car From Jerry's son. His wife just had their third baby and I offered to give him a ride to his house after we went to the bank for the financing from me. What a nice guy and so down to earth! I love their tent sales! Thomas with Jerome's in San Marcos is phenomenal. Not only is he down to earth and uses common sense he's kind, efficient and knowledgeable. So this review is about him not so much the furniture at this location. Anyways if you are gonna go call and ask to talk to Thomas. Then before you drive yourself all the way down ask all your questions! He'll answer them he's super cool and kind! Ok once everything checks out go on any day he tells you he will be there. Then let him do his job! He's not pushy so you won't have some guy trying to upsell you! I usually already know what I am looking for and I pretty much have a ballpark of cost. So when I do go, I see if I love it in person and then I checkout. It's super simple and easy. Also synchrony bank holds Jerome's credit cards. So they have like 0interest for 3 years or no sales tax. I asked him what the best deal was and that's the one we went with. Tell Thomas Ally says hello! And then when you hear your friends and family needing furniture send them to Thomas too! A little about Jerome's I think out of all the furniture stores locally this place is the best. I mean we can't compare it to Pottery Barn but it's way better than some of these other crap places that make crap furniture. My elderly parents bought a dinning table from Jerome's in san Marcos yesterday. While Andrew , the salesperson was very helpful, Jerome's delivery service has the worst customer service. My parents paid $119 for "white glove" delivery and assembly. However, once the driver arrived at my parents house ( both in their 80s) they refused assisting my parents moving the old dinning table to make room for new one , so my parents asked a neighbour to help them, my parents let the driver know that neighbour is coming to help. the neighbour came and helped moving the old table. The whole thing took 10-15 min. My father went out to ask the delivery guy to move the new table in but there were no sign of the delivery truck or the table. The driver left without informing them he was not going to wait for them. While I understand that delivery persons may not be allowed to hep moving old furniture out of the way, I am appalled with the " white glove " delivery service promised by Jerome's . They didn't even have the courtesy to let my elderly parents know they were leaving without informing them. We tried to contact Jerome's and left msg with the staff who picked up the phone at Jerome's and have left voicemail at their delivery line but have not heard back. We are so disappointed with this disrespectful delivery service and will definitely won't recommend this company to any one. read more

Walked around the show room with the sales rep, told her what we wanted, all good. She entered the wrong items I guess. Took 4 hours off of work to let the drivers in to install the furniture. When they showed me the furniture completed, realized it was not what we paid 2 thousand dollars for, it was incorrect. Drivers said they did not have enough time to disassemble. Was told replacement would be brought Saturday, now it is 7:00 pm Friday and they are telling me they do not have time to bring the correct furniture with paid for on Saturday. I cancelled plans on Saturday to make sure I could let them in. When I called to ask what happened, I was hung up on by perhaps the least professional employee i have ever talked to. Hello again! My update is not good & I wish it was. After 2 years with this bed, the drawer never functioned properly, I even bought magnetics for it to stay shut & paid a handy man to put in new rails... Now, I am seeing an obvious dip on that side of my bed & it's clear that the installers did not level the bed when they installed it. This past week I explained to Jerome's customer service that this has been an issue since day one, I shared photos to show the different levels but their response is that since I'm out of warranty there is nothing they can do. Make note, I have had 2 procedures for pain in the last 18 mos, one for my low back and the other on my neck. Both are on the same side as this drawer & where the bed is dropping. I am 100% convinced that the bed was never setup correctly. Be aware! What you pay is not what you get. read more

We purchased a matching couch and loveseat from Jerome's in San Marcos 15 months ago, barely 3 months past the 1 yr warranty. Granted, I should have brought it up before the 1 yr but in my defense, the issues didn't really become a noticably problem until after that. This patented seat foam is crap. The seat cushions have now depressed to the point you can feel the wood slats. The material on the footrests is all balled up and worn. The "Oops Protection" I bought is obviously just for stains or accidental damage so that was a waste of money. The warranty department said sorry but I can give you a number for a technician to give you a quote. We will never shop there again. read more

I felt it was time to get rid of my old futon in my living room and did some pricing and research on a power reclining sofa. I narrowed the search down to Jerome's. The website indicated the sofa I was interested in was in stock and available to view on the showroom floor. I decided to drive out to their store in San Marcos to take a look at it and to see if it was comfortable. Once I arrived at the store, I stepped into the large showroom. A couple of minutes later, I was greeted by sales associate, Kerry Marley. I let him know that I was there to see a specific sofa model that I had viewed online. He checked his database and guided me directly to the floor model. Kerry gave me plenty of time to inspect the sofa and try it out. He stood by to answer any questions and then gave me some time alone to decide if it was what I wanted. I really appreciated his, "no pressure" approach and it allowed me to make a decision without the hassle of an unwanted sales pitch, especially since I knew exactly what I was looking for. I decided this was the perfect sofa for me. I made the purchase and added Jerome's White Glove delivery service. On the day of delivery, Jerome's sent me a text reminder and delivery tracker giving me a 4 hour window of when the sofa was going to be delivered. I was able to see a live graphic of where the delivery truck was and even noticed that the truck was arriving an hour earlier than expected. When the truck arrived, the delivery team (Ben and Marco) asked where the sofa was going to be placed and immediately went to work. They brought the large box from the truck. Unpacked the box, brought the pieces into the room and set the sofa recliner up in a matter of 10 to 15 minutes. They were friendly, fast and professional. They removed all of the boxes and packing materials and in no time, I was enjoying my new sofa. I wish to commend sales associate, Kerry Marley for his professionalism and outstanding customer service and for the quick and efficient delivery service that Ben and Marco provided. I would give negative stars if possible. We were told by our salesperson, Alan Thomas, that we were eligible for full refunds within 30 days of delivery. Furniture arrived last night and doesn't fit correctly in the space and they will not give a return. Saying I can potentially exchange if approved with a 15% restocking fee and new $250 delivery fee. If you like feeling like a fish in a shark tank, Jerome's is the place for you. As soon as you walk in, all the sales associates are vying to be the first to greet you. The uncomfortable part happens once an associate has sunk their teeth into you. It feels like the rest of the associates cannot make any contact with you (if this is a policy, Jerome's should reconsider this). Tu (Sales Associate) - : Tu went above and beyond to follow this policy. As I was waiting for my family to arrive, I roamed around the store. Tu and I crossed paths and I said good afternoon; Tu ignored me. A few minutes later I passed by Tu again and said hello. I was ignored by Tu twice in less than 10 minutes! I went to the front of the store to get my family, and the first associate to greet us was Tu. I was holding my daughter, who happened to be blocking my face from Tu when he greeted us. As soon as he saw me, he said, "oh you've already been in here." To which I replied "yes, and you ignored me twice". I'm updating my review again because I recently bought a couch from Kerry at Jerome's and he made my entire experience awesome. I love the couch but what I appreciated most was when we walked into Jerome's Kerry approached us and instead of attacking us he said hi is there anything I can help you with and we said we are looking for a couch and then he proceeded to say would you like to look around on your own or you want me to show you around. I really really appreciated his approach because while I do like someone around when I have a question I don't want to be followed around the store and watched like a hawk. Kerry let us wander around we were in a hurry because we were on our way to an event and told him we we would be back. We went to a few more stores on the way to our event where we felt high pressure sales, which I'm not a fan of. We ended up stopping back by Jerome's and Kerry told us everything we needed to know about the couches, he was so knowledgeable. I mean like the guy knows his stuff... we ended up buying the couch, delivery went so smoothly and Kerry said to call him with any questions. So my last purchase from Jerome's was in 2020 and it wasn't a great experience but they have really upped their game. it takes years to build customer trust and only seconds for the San Marcos store to lose it. our families will never shop at any Jerome's store again. poor customer service, paid for extended warranties... it's been four months of the run-around with repairs needed for a $5200 recliner set we paid for IN FULL August 15, 2025. Where do I begin? First, read the reviews - the third party delivery company blows! I have been a loyal customer of Jeromes until now. In a nut shell: 1) Salesperson was great the first day! He helped me with a selection and had good customer service. 2) I had a scheduled delivery a month later. I was clear before I made my purchase that I live in a downtown high rise with restrictions ( jeromes assured me it would be fine). Keep in mind I have to pay the HOA for moves etc ( I'm fine with that) 3) I sent them a request for a certificate of insurance (not uncommon for high rises). No response, emailed twice and called. Left a message, went on chat on website. Then I called again and was told that they needed info from me. Omg! It was the same info I originally sent 2 weeks prior (note my HOA is asking for the certificate). Finally, after a lot of stress this was fixed after four calls and several emails later. Btw- I was in contact w my salesperson and was getting told different stories.. at this point I gave up! 4) Day of delivery - I received a call that my rug is not in stock and they are giving me a refund. What the hell??? Now you tell me this? Then.. they are two hours off the delivery window (so I had to pay overtime for the HOA coord.) The movers also damaged my wall - GrrrRrrrr!!! 5) I receive a call, two weeks later that they are delivering my rug that they said they were giving me a refund on. What? I purchased a new one already.. so I called them to not deliver and issue my refund. Thank goodness.. I thought.. 6) Guess what ?! I get a call at 630am the next day that they are at my building trying to deliver my rug!!! 7) Had the furniture for less than month..all the feathers are coming out of the pillows - geeez people Jerry, do you really care????
