The size of the oxtails I got one good sized one and two pretty small ones and some loose bones. There was a lot more gravy that gave me the impression that I had more meat. This is our go-to spot when we're craving oxtails and beef patties. The oxtails fall off the bone and have great flavor. My mother-in-law is from Jamaica and she said the oxtails taste just like her mom used to make. We recently tried their Rasta pasta and also fell in love. It has a little spice but we loved it! Dexter, the owner, is super nice and is always working hard around the clock. All the staff is super friendly everytime we stop in. Be aware this is not Jamaican food. Both of my parents are Jamaican and I've spent a lot of time there. Authentic jerk is not sugary. I ordered the jerk chicken and it was so drowned in sweet sugar sauce. It was sloppy and submerged, I had to throw it out. I guess when you say Caribbean food it could be from anywhere in the "Caribbean" and different countries throughout the Caribbean have their own interpretations of jerk but this was terrible. This place is amazing. The food had so much flavor and they didn't skimp on the servings. I met the owner who is very passionate about the quality and taste of the food. I've had oxtails plenty of times but this place definitely disappointed me. The oxtails were so tough and for some reason , sweet. I was expecting savory. The rice needed salt and was so dry. We are so glad we went! We ordered two chicken plate with 2 sides. Jerk chicken with cabbage and macaroni and a bbq chicken with cabbage and rice and beans. The chef asked if we liked Caribbean food. I replied, "yes" and he and jokingly said, "Good, cuz this is the best in the country." After devouring all of it, I don't think his conceited response was far off. That was excellent food! And the portions were large, our to-go boxes were stuffed with food. The jerk chicken was moist, falling apart, and full of flavor and spice. The bbq chicken was delicious. Not too sweet with great spice. The cabbage was perfect. Large pieces of well cooked, well seasoned, and chocked full of peas and carrots. I thought the macaroni would be plain jane. Nope. Now my family and I arrived at 11:00am, Now a few more customers enter the store, this lady waited and served everyone promptly. This woman deliberately ignored us. Only after the store was clear, was we given our food.She didn't express remorse, not did she provided an apology. But only offer me an "nasty Nice" smile. Received food, at 1:00pm. I don't have a clue what the food taste like., and to disappointed from the -1 /10 customer service.
