    That meatloaf was sooooooo D R Y Y Y Y U!!!!!

When I walked in, the cashier was blowing her nose with tissue. Once my plate was made, and they brought it to the register I asked her would she not touch my plate because she was blowing her nose. She lied and said she only used one hand. I'm like yeah right!! I asked for water out of the case and she touched my water with her lost nosed hands. I saw both hands on the tissue. Just blatantly lied. Then the baked chicken was hard like beef jerky! I swear!! It was so hard!! I exchanged it for meatloaf! The meatloaf was awful! It was hard and dry! They loaded the collard greens down with vinegar! Though I will eat collard greens with vinegar added, I'm not a fan of vinegar in my collard greens, but that was just too much! How are you doing? The msc & cheese was ok but runny. I will admit that the turkey wings were good but a lil salty! Every time I come to this place, I always have some kind of complaint, and most of the time it's always about the cashier. They blow their nose, handle money and then handle your food! That makes me so angry. Most of the time the food is just not good, but I keep coming like a dummy....hoping this time it'll be better. They do have potential, though! However I'm convinced, I'm not gonna patronize this place anymore. And what makes it so bad, they get mad when you complain about what they do. Black folk always have attitude. H O R R I B L E!!! Not good!!!!!!!

This was my first time here I got the whiting dinner meal with collard greens and mac n cheese. The greens were super salty, I threw them away. The Mac n cheese was ok and the cheese was hard like it might have been leftovers and the fish was just ok. And fyi the sweet potatoe jacks on their menu is not available anymore, they said the person who made them moved .

Smothered pork chops with rice and gravy & macaroni and cheese

My girlfriend and I decide to give this place a try after seeing their van while picking up groceries earlier in the day. We arrived shortly after 7 p.m. and joined the line of other customers. We were in line for about 15-20 minutes; the wait would have been shorter if the cashier had remained on the register instead of packing orders for door dash or something. There could have been more frontline help for the cashier and the one lady packing orders. We ordered a 2 piece turkey wing dinner with rice and gravy, macaroni and cheese & a smothered porkchop (2 pork chops) meal with rice and gravy & macaroni and cheese. After our meals were packaged, they sat for 5 minutes on the counter due to the bottleneck at the register (cashier not at the register). The food itself was delicious! The turkey dinner ($14.99) came with two good size flat pieces with the wing tips. The gravy complimented the wings perfectly, nicely seasoned with strings of onions. The macaroni was gooey with cheese and had the baked cheese crust on top. Visible throughout the macaroni were specks of pepper. The smothered porkchop meal ($12.99) was just as good. It came with 2 pieces of pork chop, about the size you find in a grocery store. Well seasoned and fried and it's gravy was also good and thick. Both meals came with cornbread; had to reheat because they got cold on the way home. The food tastes like someone's grandma is in the kitchen making it. Worth a return visit to try other items. P.S. - Most of their fried foods are cooked to order, so prepare for an additional wait unless you call ahead.

Baked chicken, collards & the best yams you'll ever eat

The food at this place is incredible. I had walked to a different restaurant, but they were closed. Popped my head into a nearby barber shop to ask for a lunch recommendation. He suggested Thee Soulfood Kitchen - and you know barbers don't lie. There was no wait on a Saturday afternoon and the staff was super helpful. They were out of red beans & rice, so I went with chicken, collard greens and candied yams. DAMN! I got my food to go because there was no way I was going to eat that whole plate. I ate until I was full then finished the rest... and then mopped up that gravy with a piece of cornbread. 1) If you're in the area, stop by and get some amazing soul food. 2) If you're not in the area, drive there or take a bus. Then see number 1) above.

Ordered randomly on a Friday night through DoorDash, food tasted fresh for it to be late. No complaints.

This was NOT my 1st time experiencing this phenomenal business, and I will shout from the mountain tops for all who will listen. Tonight was #Datenight. My wife, another power couple (family, not blood related), and myself. Since the 1st time we introduced them to this place, they've been #hooked. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess. We noticed Brie (one of the owners) and we had a conversation (expressing our fondness of the business. We waited about 5 minutes and was escorted to our seats by Brie. We were seated in VIP (Reserved) section Thursday nights are reserved for Karaoke and its was phenomenal, to say the least!! There were some real "singers" in there--not professional, but singers nonetheless. Make sure to come between 6-9 to enjoy their "Happy hour" specials. Drinks came fast. Appetizers came faster. And the food was not far behind. My wife ordered "Keishia Wings (Parmesean Garlic) and fries basket. My sister ordered some kind of dip, and my brother ordered wings. The main course. I ordered "Bad Gyrl Lamb Chops" with Rice & Gravy and Cabbage. My wife ordered the "Veggie Platter" with Collards, Sweet potatoes, Broccoli and Cabbage. My sister ordered The "Sausage, Rice and Onions" platter and my brother ordered the Turkey Wings (Fried then gravy added (no onions), Mac and Cheese and Cabbage. When I say we cleaned our plates, that's an understatement. If you're in the area, visiting the area, or just looking for something outside of the normal, this is it!!! You don't even have to take my word for it. Try it yourself and see --- You will NOT be disappointed! We will be back time after time and hope to meet/see you there! Enjoy the rest of your day

Now the food... we ended up sitting for almost two hours because we kept trying different dishes, and every single one was delicious. The fried lamb chops were bussin', the seafood fries were flavorful and filling, and the salmon bites literally melted in my mouth. The seafood mac topped with fried catfish (with fried salmon on the side) had my picky child dancing and humming--so that tells you everything! The cornbread was great too, and I washed it all down with a strawberry Arnold Palmer. Everything was amazing even the music and we can't wait to return!

The vibe? Pure waterfront bliss. It's the kind of place where you half expect a dolphin to pop up and judge your drink choice (which it absolutely would approve of, by the way). The staff treated me like I'd been coming there every summer since 1998--even though this was my first time and I kept accidentally calling it "Stony's Dockyard" like I was boarding a ship. Now let's talk food. The crab cake.samdwich? So good I considered writing it a personal thank-you letter. The fries? Crispy enough to make me briefly question whether I should propose. The drinks? Let's just say after the second one, I was convinced I could parallel park a boat. Service was fast, friendly, and only mildly concerned when I said, "I'm ready for my transformation into a dockside legend." By the end of the meal, I was ready to move in. If they'd handed me a pillow, I'd be sleeping next to the deck like a happy barnacle. 10/10 would absolutely return, and next time I'm bringing more sunscreen, fewer responsibilities, and maybe a bib for the crab feast.
