There are little things that make the experience so much more pleasant than other offices I have gone to. 1. They do not overbook so they do not make you wait when you arrive. 2. It is so nice to see the same staff and have the same dental hygienist. 3. It is so quiet and peaceful in the office. It is like a spa experience for a dental visit! 4. Jerry Mah has been our family dentist for many years, after he took over the practice from my childhood dentist, Dr. Jerry Binnings. Dr. Mah and his wonderful staff are like family. They care about their patients, are extremely professional, friendly and competent. I always have a great experience with the simplest to the most complicated procedures. I am also one that is slow to respond to anesthesia, and Dr. Mah always makes sure that I am completely numbed up so that I feel absolutely no pain. Dr. Mah has done root canals, crowns, and handled tricky old filings, all the while taking him time and never doing more than is necessary. Dr. Mah is the gentlest dentist I have ever had. I moved to Marin 3 years ago and had to find a new dentist. I went to see Dr. Mah by referral of a good friend. During my first cleaning, I fell asleep cause I did not feel a thing. It was amazing. Dr. Mah takes great care of every detail and explains everything patiently. Dr. Mah is extremely professional and the office staff is very friendly. I am such a germaphobe so I adore all the precautions against cross contamination that the office takes. As another reviewer said, the technology for checking gingivitis is definitely a plus - it's so sickingly fun to watch to see if you're acing your gums or failing! I never feel pressured into any dental work that may be unnecessary but I think that Dr. Mah genuinely cares if you have a healthy mouth. I have been seeing Dr. Mah since he took over Dr. Binnings' practice and he's taken me in several times in a pinch. Rather than find a dentist closer to home or work in San Francisco, I think I'll keep driving over the GG to pay a visit to see Dr. Mah. He's really an honest, respectable dentist. read more

Yes, this review is as good as it gets. Dr Mah was currently in San Leandro, Ca many years ago. I first was introduce to him by a dear friend. This was in 1992, of course since then I have seen many dentists, which none could compare. All previous dentist I saw I walk out frustrated. Dr Mah' s office is immaculate, he is very gentle and strive for perfection, amazing quality of work he does which cannot be compared. Annette exemplies that great customer service every customer wants. He also has a dental assistance her name escapes me, but a wonderful and very polite dental assistance she is. I drove more than 80 miles round trip to have an appoinment with Dr Mah. I paid bridge toll twice and I am actually afraid of bridges, but I mustered up enough courage to go where I knew would be worth it. I was scheduled for a root canal, My experience was so peaceful and calming that I actually fell asleep during the procedure. Who ever heard of falling asleep during a root canal. You can get it there at Dr Mah's office!!!! read more

After my dentist of many years retired a good friend and neighbor highly recommended Dr. Mah. I had cracked a tooth and went to Dr. Mah for a crown. Like most people, I rather do anything but go to a dentist. The part I dislike the most is the process of getting "numb". Dr. Mah is not only an incredible sweet man with a sense of humor, he knows how to numb his patients. I kept waiting for the sharp pain of the needle, but it never happened, he is at the top of profession. The rest of my family is likely to follow my lead. read more

I recently started going to Dr. Mah given the previous Yelp reviews and I have to say this dental office is awesome! Everyone who works here, from reception, hygienist and Dr Mah himself are so gentle, thorough, and did I mention GENTLE? If you are afraid of dentists, as I am, you will truly appreciate the general demeanor at this office. Last week I had the most pleasant root canal!? I was scared to death but got through it with the only soreness being my jaw, from staying open for 2 hours. Today I took my 4 year old for her first cleaning and she loved it, it's all she's been talking about, they were great with her. I can't recommend this office highly enough. read more

I have been going to Dr. Mah since he took over Dr. Binnings practice. It is never easy to take over someone else's practice but he has done that gracefully and made a number of improvements in the practice. It didn't take long before I felt comfortable with Dr. Mah as my dentist and I will continue to come to him for my dental needs. He is a skilled and compassionate dentist and the office staff is very welcoming. I am in the medical field and it speaks volumes about Dr. Mah that the old staff stayed on with the transition in ownership. I have been going to Dr. Mah for several years. He is always kind, and easy to talk with about your dental issues. Dr. Mah wants to minimize any pain or discomfort and is very careful with his work. Dr. Mah has been my dentist for quite a while now. I have deep pockets and he recommended a few years ago to have cleanings every 3-4 months instead of the regular 6 months. I've been following his advice and have not had any problems with my gums swelling from getting food stuck in the deep pockets. He's always given me very good advice. read more
