This guy is defiantly a exception, my mom was a dental assistant when she was younger and I still hated all the dentists I have ever seen in my entire life except for Jerry, now I'm not saying I had a good time or anything like that but I did not even feel the shots he gave me no prick or even a sting , he is super gentle, the best in the business. In my opinion all stars given here, also he is a expert at keeping you from actually seeing the horrifying needle he is very slick and knows how to maneuver just right keeping it out of your sight, very good cause I was trying to look and I never got to see if!!! Let me start by saying I don't trust the dental industry. As a child I had severe trauma on more than one occasion that left me with intense PTSD. I experience sweating, lightheaded/dizziness and over all panic to be frank. I avoid going to see any dentist unless absolutely necessary. So about two years ago I had a root canal done by a sweet Endodontic. I did a ton of research and traveled to Milpitas for this Harvard expert. I knew that I needed someone who specialized in root canals SPECIFICALLY. In saying that, all she did was the root canal and didn't actually place my crown. So I never got a crown put on my tooth. Two years went by and last week I chewed something too hard and Crack goes that tooth. I was shocked to feel fragments of that tooth in my mouth in two small pieces. I was immediately panicked and spent the next day screeching for a viable option to fix my tooth despite my immense fear...not choice now. So I saw a dentist which I won't name here and she basically told me she wanted to remove my whole tooth and place a implant. I was terrified to say the least. I asked her if she did them often (implants) and she said no but that she has one herself. Then her other option was that she could shave down my other two teeth next to the tooth to place some kind of bridge to denture. I wasn't feeling comfortable with any of those options. I had no to tooth pain, my tooth and post that was previously done with such skill wasn't loose or anything of that nature, so it didn't feel like the best option to me. I left feeling scared and defeated. I decide to do more research and come across Dr. Jerry Yang. I always read the patient reviews on the matter I need done, always. So, im reading all about what its like to be seen by him so i can see if this is the DDS to see. I look then at what exactly is in his expertise...the big question can he do what I am hoping to get accomplished and will his bedside manner be kind and understanding? Thats the million dollar question. I call the office and speak to a very polite receptionist who gets me an appointment the very next day. I dread my appointment because i fear what will be said and what will need to happen. I walk in the next day and check-in. I did all my paperwork online so i just check in on the iPad answer some covid questions and I wait to be called back. Im sweating, im nervously fidgeting with my coat and try to relax. I get called back very quickly and am greeted with a friendly smile. Already i feel at ease. I speak to the Dental Assistant and explain my predicament. She was so friendly and sweet and listened to me without looking annoyed by my fears. DR. Jerry comes in and greets me with a smile. He is wearing a mask for Covid precautions but by his eyes i can tell he is smiling. He asks me what brings me here and I start telling him about everything i detailed in this post. He takes a look and tells me EXACTLY what i hoped to hear! He says he thinks he can save the tooth!! I was shocked, i couldnt believe i had been so close to having all kinds of painful, several months of implant work almost done to a tooth that he could save. I was so elated. They do the x-rays and we chat some more. I felt so happy i tell you i could have jumped for joy if i wasnt 5 months pregnant! We set up a plan to build up and reinforce the tooth since the damage wasnt deep and i left the office feeling so lucky I did my research and found Dr. JERRY! If you are looking for a Dentist and an office to trust and listen to tour concerns THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! I will tell anyone looking for a dental office that this is the place to go without question! Best experience I've had. I'm laying down in Dr. Jerry's office right now on a Saturday because I wasn't taking my postoperative care as well as I should have after getting my wisdom teeth extracted, and welp here I am! Lol! Jerry has been my dentist for all of my life and it's been always a pleasant experience every single time. He really takes the time to explain what's going and really ease any anxieties you might have, and in turn makes the experience extremely comfortable (even though it's the dentist!) Jerry and his staff are very patient, and I'm lucky to have a dental care team who takes their time, and makes what would normally be my biggest nightmare something I look forward to with every visit. Dentists, oral surgery, and the alike need to be reviewed. It is like pulling teeth to get me to the dentist. That is exactly what happened with Dr. Yang. I did not see a dentist for five years, and he could not save one tooth. I lost it. Pulling a major tooth on a fifty year old is not a good experience, but he made it as good as possible. I hate dental treatment so much, I am now making an appointment for follow up treatement. On the extraction, I did not feel a thing, and he stopped decay on additonal teeth. I have had a number of really bad dentists, and Dr. Yang is not one of them. On the process: I understand HIPPA, and the documentation process. Yes, you will have to do paperwork. I had avoided going to the dentist for over 25 years before being referred to Dr. Yang. My mouth as a mess. It required five extractions, several caps and some bridges. Dr. Yang worked with me to set-up a payment plan that would work for both of us. Dr. Yang is beyond an excellent dentist for more than a few reasons! I was born with very "bad" teeth due to a connective tissue disorder. Dr. Yang was very understanding and attentive to my needs; meaning I needed frequent breaks, bite bridges, and a gentle hand due to the poor quality of my teeth. Dr. Yang is simply the best when it comes to doing his job. I've been visiting him for well over ten years. In that time, I've graduated college and medical school. My clinical training has shown me the value of going to a professional and someone who not only excels at his job, but is also dedicated to providing the highest quality care for his patients. When a bond in one of my chipped posterior teeth popped out, I went back to Dr. Yang and he fixed it right away without me having to make an appointment.
