Never judge a book by it's cover.... Was guided here by fellow Yelpers and was a bit concerned when we drove up, as it looked a bit off-putting. But the service was great and food delicious. To start off with, I don't normally order eggs, so I was having a hard time figuring out what I wanted, because I wanted to try to eat a bit healthier and give eggs another try. The server was extremely patient with me, helping direct me to the place on the menu where I could build-my-own after asking if I could substitute some items on a pre-made dish. He worked with me to do an omelet with red peppers, onions and cheeses. I opted for the side of hash browns and buttered English muffin, with their home-made jam. It was UH-mazing!!!! The eggs had nice chunks of red peppers and onions, made with egg whites and covered by a plethora of cheese (healthy went out the window with all that cheese). It was so good, to-die-for and has me sold on eggs.... The hash browns had a nice crispy covering to them, which I like and the layer under that was firm and not mushy. The muffin was perfectly buttered, hot and crispy, yet soft. The jam tasted like a mixed berry jam that complemented the buttered muffin perfectly. Hubby had the Denver omelet. Fresh ingredients, hot, plenty of cheese, it had onion, green pepper, ham and Monterey jack cheese. He polished off almost everything on his plate, he loved it. We also originally ordered small OJs and the server went back to get the glasses to show me the two sizes, The small is like a very small kids cup, so I appreciated him taking the time to point out how small small was and we switched to Large OJs. The service was really good, he was on top of things, friendly, helpful and the food came out pretty quickly, even though the restaurant was at capacity. The only complaint I have. When I say they were at capacity, I mean they were packed. There was no social distancing at all and a few people came in without masks. The workers had them on, but not everyone was wearing them properly. That was the only negative part. I would definitely recommend them. My family and I enjoyed our brunch here. One thing that surprised me the most was the variety in the menu. I didn't know what I wanted as there were so many different choices. The service was just okay. The staff would sit behind the counter and talk without paying attention to their customers. I also noticed they let the food sit until they have everyone's food ready to serve for the table. It also took awhile for the food to come out. I was extremely hungry, and waited quite awhile for our food. Thank goodness the food was delicious. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were delicious and gooey. My dad tried the frittata as he's never had that before, and that was full of flavors. My meal came with a side of toast and I got their homemade jam. Their homemade jam was very delicious. That was one of the best jam I've ever had! Hopefully the staff can improve on their service so that more people can enjoy their food. read more

First visit was delish. I'll be back. Visited on Columbus Day for breakfast. The place was very busy. We got a table and ordered breakfast. I had the corned beef hash benedict that was divine. The corned beef was home made not from the can and was delicious. The American fries were a perfect accompaniment. The pancakes were so good. My love had the butcher works omelet. Very cheesy and lots of meat. Coffee was ok, not great but a tad too weak for me. But real half and half for those who care about that sort of thing. read more

We both had the corned beef hash Benedict and it was wonderful, large portions and great flavors with the green peppers cooked perfectly. So happy we went here for breakfast! First off, we looked like holy hell Sunday morning- long story -- but we were greeted with smiles and such wonderful service from our friendly, hard-working waitress. The food came quickly - and was delicious and plentiful. Two in our party got boxes to take home. But my Swedish Pancakes with eggs and bacon on the side were soooo good - I had to keep on eating! Practically licked the plate clean. Breakfast is my favorite meal for eating out - this is a really wonderful choice on Beloit's west side. I'll be back next time I'm in town! read more

We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday and it certainly seemed to be the place to be. It was packed. However, we were greeted immediately at the door and only had to wait about 5 minutes until a table opened up. The menu is extensive and interesting. The service was fast and efficient. I had the San Antonia omelet and it was delicious. The description warned it was spicy and it lived up to that promise. The hash browns were excellent. My husband had the beef hash eggs benedict and biscuits and gravy and both were very good. Our coffee was continually topped off. Can understand why this is a local favorite! read more

Been here a couple times but today will be our last time. We have gone back for the fantastic diner breakfasts. We've tried omelets, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, bacon, corn beef & hash, skillets, specials... you name it, we've tried it, and for good food, you can't go wrong here. The reason for the 2 star is that for as good as the kitchen is, the front of the house is equivalently bad. In addition to the cramped space and poorly managed temp control, the service is very poor; what to expect: you won't be greeted at the door (even if the entire wait staff is standing around socializing behind the counter), staff will walk by you and pretend you aren't there, you will have to flag someone down to get waited on - which is tough as they don't look at customers, you'll have to ask for coffee (in a diner!?) and good luck getting a refill, the wait staff may rudely comment on your order, they will clear your table without asking before you are finished, and likely you will have to just go up and ask to pay unless you are down for waiting with no food or coffee for the next 20+ minutes to get the check. We'd only recommend if you're willing to tolerate the all around terrible service for the food - which we acknowledge is pretty good. read more

We weren't expecting much from this cafe. Were were staying here visiting my wife's family for Thanksgiving and were looking for something close to our hotel. We were surprised by the excellent big city breakfast menu. Crepe's, 5 different oatmeals, all kinds of skillets, eggs Benedict, pancakes, waffles, even a healthy selection. I personally had "Jerry's meat lovers skillet" and it was VERY good! This cafe has very friendly and amazing service. I think they filled my coffee up 10 times! Overall, excellent food! Not a very fancy place but hey, this is Beloit, WI. We haven't had lunch here yet, but I highly recommend giving it a try for breakfast. read more

Very convenient if you're attending an event at the Beloit High School if you dont want to do fast food as it's right on the next block south of the school. Jerry's cafe is. Old school goodness. I had the pancake, eggs and bacon combo. The food was great and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend Jerry's but get there early as it gets very busy. Tables turn over quickly but late in the morning there will be a line out the door. read more

Jerry's Cafe, which opened in 2011, sits near the center of Beloit surrounded by small businesses such as auto body shops, a laundromat, and a dry cleaners. I had assumed that the restaurant is named after the owner but I later found out that the owner is Oscar Garcia. I have no idea about the identity of Jerry. The eatery is not in a very big space and the tables are tightly packed together. It is readily apparent that the family who own and operate the place are of Hispanic origin. Menu items such as chilaquiles, burritos, and quesadillas were one clue. They did serve Swedish pancakes but I was certain those weren't Swedish accents I was hearing from the waitresses. What really gave it away however, was the television on the wall. The four or five authentic Mexican or Latin American restaurants we visited on our travels had at least one television playing in the dining area. Inevitably, the sound is muted. The television in Jerry's was set to the Food Channel. I think the TV chef was making pot roast which didn't do much for me at 7 AM in the morning. The large lit up screens next to the TV listed the specials. I'm not sure, but it looked like you might be able to read X-rays on those screens. It was a Saturday morning and the place was about half filled when we got there but by the time we left it had filled up and was bustling. It certainly appeared to be a real "locals place" with a mix of families, students, friends, amigos, and amigas. Since we were in "America's Dairyland" I decided I would order the item with the most dairy products. That turned out to be the Breakfast Quesadilla which had pepper jack cheese, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. The tortillas were also filled with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and onions. On the side came hash browns. The quesadillas tasted very good. The tortillas were perfectly grilled and all the inside ingredients melded perfectly into a scrumptious treat for the taste buds. Adding the sour cream and salsa just improved the feast. The hash browns were perfectly crispy. Adding some sour cream and salsa to the hash browns also upgraded the taste. The bacon arrived extra crispy, not my preferred outcome, but good nonetheless. It looked like the wait staff of six or so females were all related. This seemed to be a true family establishment. All of them were similarly dressed in black shirts and black pants looking like a pack of benign ninjas. They operated like a well-oiled machine, helping each other with cleaning tables, delivering food, and dispensing coffee refills. Our primary waitress was named Yuri and she was a delight. She had a smile that did not disappear. She was also the youngest of the bunch but performed like a seasoned veteran. The combination of her accent, her braces, and our aging ears made it hard for us to understand what she was saying some of the time, but she smiled, we smiled and everything was good. Great service, excellent portions, and a range of American and Mexican breakfast and lunch options. Don't be surprised to find yourself seated between a table of cops having lunch and a group of Beloit College professors taking a distinguished lecturer out for breakfast. The vibe in this tiny strip mall cafe is informal, friendly, and busy. Many Beloit visitors never visit the city's West Side. This place is worth the trip across the bridge. read more

This is my go to breakfast place. I've been here a handful of times now and everything I've had is delicious. My personal favorite is the Down Home which is biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and two eggs. The sausage gravy is amazing, very flavorful and meaty. Another favorite when I'm craving something sweet is the Italian French toast. It's stuffed with a creamy cinnamon cheese and topped with sautéed apples, raisins, and pecans then drizzled in caramel sauce.. So. Fricken. Good. And my most recent visit I tried the San Francisco breakfast burrito, again, like everything I've tried, it was delicious. Chorizo with eggs, cheese, and peppers, sooo good and the homemade salsa made it great. It was also pretty big, and came with hash browns. I wasn't able to finish it. I was dropping my daughter off at college and we stopped in here for breakfast. I got a skillet combo (all hash brown cheesy goodness) which was a smaller size than their regular ones, with only one egg on top and my choice of two add-ons (chose onions and mushrooms). It came with toast and fruit as well. Yum, so satisfying. And less than 8 bucks - what?! Daughter got French toast - also good. Coffee smooth and drinkable. Really nice breakfast stop enroute from Chicago to Madison. The place is located in a small strip mall with ample parking. The breakfast menu has lots of choices. We had a skillet and a scrambler, and both were delicious. Seems like a family place with obvious pride in their homemade food. We were offered homemade salsa and homemade jam, both excellent. We were a party of 4, and this was my first visit. Service was fast and friendly, food very fresh. We ordered skillets, waffles, benedicts, and omelets. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. One of my very favorite features is that they were willing to make substitutions on most dishes, and healthy ingredients like avocado, spinach, and others could be easily added during preparation or as a topping.
