This is a clean, well-ran Grocery Store and Diner. Ate and shopped there and would recommend it.

For being the only grocery store on the island this one has a great selection of foods. The bakery is awesome, lots of good stuff there don't pass it up. We had a key lime cheescake and it was only $12, it was the most unbelievable cheescake and would easily go for $30 back home in Chicago. read more

I love this grocery store. Everything is always so clean and neat. The sweats selections is extensive. The feel of the place makes you still feel like you are in an island. They have anything you would expect to find in a grocery store at the same prices as regular grocery stores. Every time I vacation in Sanibel I end up shopping for the groceries here because its location is also so convenient. The grocery has also some stores surrounding it which gives it a nice feel with also a nice little garden in the middle. Since the grocery is in the second floor of the building, they have a pretty cool system of delivering the food to the first floor where the parking is. I recommend this grocery store for anyone staying in Sanibel. read more

Our trip to Jerry's upon arrival to Sanibel is always a fun and festive stop! They have a good variety, and it has a nice ambiance. The shampoo is crazy expensive....$3 per bottle of Suave, so be prepared. The most noteworthy item in Jerry's is the bakery-made loaves of cinnamon bread that are located at the entrance of the store. This stuff is fabulous! Our party of 6 became addicted to this cinnamon bread, and we took to bringing a loaf along to each little outing that we did (bike ride, kayaking, etc), quickly scarfing a full loaf every few hours. I'll bet we ate more than 20 loaves of this bread in one week! You just have to try it! The diner in the store is good too! read more

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had at a cafe/diner setting, and we've eaten at many. All the food was outstanding - pancakes, waffles (perfectly done, tall and doughy!), bacon (incredible bacon), and our omelettes - the test of a great breakfast place is when they saute the onions and peppers before putting them in the omelette rather than just plopping in raw veggies right before folding the eggs and taking them off - they met this challenge. They also give each diner a full pot of coffee so you can refill your own at will. Our waitress Kelly was fantastic - very friendly and on top of every request - and even gave us some great local tips for things to do. One other huge bonus: No line to get in, unlike some other local spots that get hyped for breakfast. When you're done eating there go hang out with Caesar the white cockatoo, outside. An extremely intelligent, friendly bird who will show off his feathers and bring you his toys to play with him if you hang out long enough. read more

Simplicity is the name of the game here. No frills, no atmosphere, just good food. I tried the special which consisted of pot roast, potatoes and carrots that also included a trip to the salad bar. I cannot remember what my kids had but take that as ok, but not memorable. Tina from Germany was attentive but not invasive. We finished things off with a bananna cream pie...best part of the meal! Even though we get the majority of our groceries off Sanibel. We always end up at Bailey's and Jerry's, the two markets on the island, several times during the week. Both markets are great. This year we tried a almond crescent and a pecan sticky bun. The bun was delicious. The almond crescent was dry to say the least. They always look dry, but I still felt the need to try. They need to perfect their pastry dough...not moist/buttery at all. read more

Expensive but the only place on the island to shop for food. There is a small cafe inside and what looks like a decent salad bar. There is a parking garage and they load your groceries into the car. We go to this place each time we're on Sanibel. Great bakery, restaurant, and service. The adjacent stores, including Love Boat Ice Cream, make it a must visit as part of our island experience. Try the Chunky Cinnamon Bread...excellent! A very special place. read more

Perhaps not as quaint and friendly as Bailey's, but every bit as fun to shop there. We love the exotic birds and super charming atrium, as well as the host of other gift shops etc... in the proximity. The bakery could use some improvement. Jerry's is a great place to consider if you don't want fancy - just lots of choices and decent food. The waitresses are old school, think "hun" and "sweetie". Went to this place in June during an island wide power outage and the only place on the island (we think) with a generator was Jerry's! In spite of the chaos and people crowding in to eat - they handled it like troopers. And believe me with a high end island full of tourists looking for food - that's not any easy chore. Our hats were off to the service. Will definitely try Jerry's again for a low-key meal!! read more

This is certainly the best supermarket on the islands. It's entrance is charming with parrots and tropical decor. The help is really friendly and wears nice looking tropical shirts. They have a wee restaurant connected and it stopped serving their well know and loved fried chicken. I can't imagine why; unless it's a health issue, but they always touted the fact that it was cooked in non poly oil. Oh well. The rest of the food is ordinary considering the fact that it comes from their own market. One can park underneath and elevator to the market in the summer which is nice. I've been a fan for at least since they opened and I check it every year. read more

We loved this store. Pretty wide range of options on wine, beers, food, and all at a pretty reasonable price. It was conveniently located next to some gift stores. It was cool how the groceries are handed to you on conveyer belts beneath the store. All you have to do is drive around. read more

Good selection but I avoid shopping there because they still use plastic bags for packing purchases, and those beautiful parrots have a miserable existence in dirty round cages with very few toys or stimulation. These highly intelligent, social animals are not lawn ornaments. read more

Stopped by here to grab a few things we needed for our mini Labor Day getaway. We forgot to pack water shoes and so we stopped by to see if they had water shoes. They had everything you can think of but water shoes which I'm sure other people would like to see stocked. Tell your buyer to acquire water shoes for the store! read more

Definitely a fun place to grocery shop and we love the parrots and other birds outside. That said, you probably have to fork over your first born to pay for those lovely items. Heralded as the best Key Lime pie in the world, but I think mine is better. Am on my way to the Sunday farmers market so we shall see what that has to offer. read more

Jerry's has been a great way to accommodate a gluten-free diet. Although more expensive than your mainland stores, they offered quite a variety of items, comfort foods and snacks to make vacationing that much easier. I rented a condo in Captiva during Thanksgiving week 2018 and bought groceries ahead of time through Jerry's Foods. It was hard to believe that so much could go wrong with one grocery order, but it did. They started out by delivering another customers groceries to our condo. No big deal, the delivery guys came back and switched the orders. However, they forgot about 7 items on the list and had to re-deliver the next day. Even after the 2nd delivery, they still forgot a few items which we had paid for. Wait, it gets worse... The chicken wings we ordered had an expiration date of 8/27/18. Again, we were in Captiva during the 3rd week of November! I also had ordered a 5 lb pack of frozen hamburgers. When we opened them to cook on the grill, they had obvious mold growth on them. I've never seen frozen burgers with mold on them. Upon returning home, I called and e-mailed Jerry's Foods in Sanibel. The manager said he was sorry about the problems and that they could credit us for our next order. I told him that there wouldn't be a next time and that I would just like my account credited for the missing and spoiled groceries. He said that would have to go through their Minnesota office and would take a while. He also said that the frozen burgers aren't very good and he doesn't recommend them. I asked why the heck do they sell them then? I wasn't going to write this review, but it's been a week since I spoke with the manager and haven't heard anything from Jerry's Foods. My advice - stop at Publix in Ft. Myers and load up with your groceries before heading to Sanibel / Captiva. read more

We got breakfast here one morning and absolutely loved it. The service was great, and the food was awesome. I had the veggie Benedict - highly recommended! The eggs were perfectly poached and the flavor was great. My boyfriend had the create-your-own omelette and said it was a "textbook" omelette. Good coffee, too! read more

It is what it is. A restaurant in a grocery. Simple, but fresh food served by a simple, but friendly staff in a good, but touristy (high) priced island grocery store. For an island, decent selection, decent deli sandwiches and despite a few exceptions, friendly service.

This place was such a pleasant surprise! We enjoyed a delicious (and huge) burger, fish tacos and a sub sandwich here. The burger had a perfectly toasted bun, was cooked to order and came with fries that everyone enjoyed. The tacos had much more fish than anticipated, and the deli bun was moist and fresh. Keep it in mind for a last minute dinner and don't get hung up that you're eating just inside the door of a grocery store. read more
