This is another local restaurant that was severely impacted by Hurricane Ian and has recently come back. We were happy to give them a try and pleasantly surprised by our breakfast experience. The menu has many breakfast staples - pancakes, omelettes, Benedict's, etc and should work for just about any type of group. We had a party of four early on a Saturday morning and received very friendly and attentive service. Seating was plentiful and comfortable and the interior was spotlessly clean. Their coffee was solid and everyone enjoyed their meals. I really liked my breakfast burrito with pulled pork and their potatoes are prepped fresh daily. Swung by to recreate a 10 year old photo with our now 15 year old, and stayed for lunch. We each had a variety of the Asian Crispy Chicken Salad (two wraps and one salad). The chicken was so nice and crispy, the wrap was so fresh and flavorful and the peanut sauce was definitely the star of the show. Our son ordered a second chicken breast too. First time since reopening on Sanibel. Mary Ann was a great server! Friendly and helpful. Nachos sounded good and they were! Everything homemade, chips fried on site. We had the chili on the side, cuz I hate soggy chips, but it was flavorful and I did dip chips in it. Such a big order I didn't need anything else, but hubby ordered a chicken BLT, no chicken! I feel like this restaurant is better off sticking to breakfast. We went for dinner and were all slightly disappointed. Everything was fine, but bland. In fact, I heard one of the servers telling the table next to us that when they make their nachos, the taco meat is cooked in beer with no cumin, no salt and pepper, no seasonings, so it's not spicy. Well then, that would explain why the nachos are so bland! They're supposed to be known for their TexMex food, but they are missing the mark as far as they are away from Texas - Mexico. The pretzel appetizers were delicious! They have a lot of great burgers and that might be their strong suit. However, they are missing a basic cheeseburger on the menu. All of their burgers sound great, except for the fact that if you have picky eaters, they may not appeal. For example, my son ordered the barnyard burger and asked for no egg because he just wants the basic burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion. Stopped by for a tot on a rainy day. Staff are nice and the bartender mixed a good drink. The motif is quite unique with giraffe paintings, pictures, and statues about the place. Although we didn't try the food, the menu looks amazing. read more

First let me start with the service! Absolutely on point. Maryann gave us great recommendations . My son and I have not been to the island for 9 years. We used to dine here with the family often. We had steak fajitas and the Cuban sandwich. Split both because we couldn't decide. Maryann took the time to tell us how the fajitas were prepared marinated for 24 hours and boy could you tell absolutely filled with flavor and grilled to perfection. The Cuban was served on fresh bread from Miami and you could tell with every bite. She recommended the sweet potato fries with the dipping sauce. The only disappoint was I couldn't fit more in my belly! We are from Chicago originally and loved the sports team flags proudly flying behind the bar. I will be planning my beach days around visiting the Blue Giraffe and will help support the businesses building back after the hurricane by coming from Naples often! We also met Maryann's son who works there and he was such a nice young man who provided great service as well. Great job Mom! 10/10. Trust me, don't miss it! read more

This would have been a a solidly mediocre meal served by an unpolished waitstaff if not for the turkey club. The turkey club arrived at our table with no bacon. Upon inquiry, the waiter brought the sandwich back to the kitchen and it was remade with bacon and returned to our table by a runner who all but threw it on the table. Upon first bite it became evident that the Blue Giraffes "oven roasted turkey breast" is really low grade turkey roll. Additionally, we were overcharged for several menu items. Our waiter shed all responsibility by repeatedly telling us he was new on the job and seemingly had no training. I can confidently say this was my worst meal on the island. I've always loved the food at Blue Giraffe and I was sad when Ian took their restaurant. It's taken a while to reopen but finally a few ago it happened. The food is still as delicious before and the team there is top notch. The new restaurant has very cool epoxy blue floors and lots of Giraffes. The outdoor deck has new, pretty yellow umbrellas. Right now they're just serving breakfast and lunch but it's just so great to have my favorite back. The owner said sooner & the bar will be open so! read more

I stopped by here earlier today with my family for lunch. We were shelling on Sanibel whenever I searched for a place for lunch. Since Ian, not much was open but I was happy to see that the Blue Giraffe was making a go of it with a food truck outside their closed restaurant. As such the current location consists of a food truck and a bunch of outdoor seating in their former parking lot. We decided to eat there and since there were mosquitos out, the owner gave us some bug spray as well. For lunch on this day I was excited to try the grouper, but the owner let us know that his delivery hadn't made it yet and so they were out. Instead I decided to go with the Cuban sandwich with fries while my wife went with a Cuban wrap. Then they offered to make my twins a cheese quesadilla with fries and to split it between them which sounded good to me. After maybe a 10 minute wait our food was served to us. At first I thought that my meal looked a little small, but the sandwich was chock full of meat. I liked the combination of the pulled pork, ham, pickle and cheese and thought that it was actually a really good sandwich. My fries were also quite good as they were super crispy without being over cooked which my twins loved. I was also able to try my twins quesadilla and I have to same that it was yummy as well. It had an unique flavor to it which I kept wanting to eat more of. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I am sad that they didn't have grouper, I was still super satisfied with my meal. read more

B G is a located in the back of the shopping area. We ordered their salad with grilled grouper, and MDF really enjoyed the fish, she said it was very moist and flavorful. An appetizer of Mexican street corn was tasty. My Cuban sandwich was not as good as I thought it would be since it is one of their " Signature" items, I am used to this type of sandwich grilled with the special press used specifically for this sandwich, the sand was barely grilled, and with very little meat and cheese, and it was dry, It seemed like the pork used was like a bar bq pulled pork, it was definitely not sliced roast pork. I was excited to come here as it had some gluten-free options and the menu is super varied. We started off with the Mona Lisa, which gives you 3 tomato slices, and 3 mozzarella slices with basil on a bed of what was old spring mix and a balsamic glaze. I ended up getting their mushroom/Swiss cheese burger on the plate. It was ok. I upgraded to sweet potato fries which were divine and came with this maple sauce that was strangely delicious. My husband had the fish and chips, and said it was underwhelming. They forgot the coleslaw, which was also subpar. For an almost $20 dish on an island, it probably should have been better. We sat outside on the side of the building which provided a great view to the garden plaza. The bathroom wasn't that clean either. With a diversified menu, I have faith they can do better. read more

The food was good-UNTIL.... Our server was pleasant. I ordered the grouper sandwich which was a large portion. I cut the sandwich in half to take the other half home. As I was doing this I noticed a very long ( at least 6 inch) strand of dark hair came out from the middle of my sandwich. I placed it on a napkin and called for the server. To her credit, she looked horrified when I showed her. I was disappointed (obviously) no manager came over. I was given another sandwich to go. I'm not sure that is a satisfactory solution. Possibly comped on the bill? Aren't hair nets required in the kitchen? I don't know. I'm sure this could happen anywhere. ALWAYS inspect your food before biting in!!! Before, the food was fantastic with lots of flavor, but now everything is just basic ingredients with no inspiration. I took my family here while we were on vacation because we wanted to grab a nice breakfast by the beach. This restaurant did not disappoint! My aunt and brother were both very impressed with the location, service, and quality of the food. When we arrived, we were seated and serviced very promptly. We arrived on a weekend morning and did not have to wait for an outdoor table. I ordered their signature Fisherman's Benedict. Overall, I thought it was a solid dish, although the key lime flavor in the hollandaise sauce was so subtle that I would have missed it if I weren't looking out for it. All the components of my dish tasted fresh, but I didn't think it had anything special enough to set it apart from other Eggs Benedicts I've had which is why I'm only giving this place 4 stars. All in all, I would highly recommend this place and come back for a solid breakfast by the beach. read more
