My rav4 started to have issues such as slow to pick up speed and occasionally jerking forward I took it in, they said it is a transmission issue but not bad enough to fix it. I brought my car in for an oil change, for which I had an appointment. They told me it would be two hours, which I reluctantly accepted, although it seem excessive. After two and a half hours, I told them I had to leave soon, so they needed to hurry. Instead they brought my car back, having done nothing in two and a half hours. No oil change, no nothing. This dealership have been around for ages. It was remodeled about 10+ years ago to conform to the Toyota standard. They do have a decent amount of vehicles, mostly, Camry, RAV4, Tacoma, prius, very few on other models in the lot, a couple 86s, supras, tundras, etc. My recent visit was today, went in around 4:15PM to purchase an oil filter. No one was at the service desk. A table bell, like the one from a hotel in the 80s is on the table. I ran the bell, no response. I figured they must be busy, and I heard someone is in the back, on the phone. Ok, I understand. As time went by, no one came to the service desk. A cash register walked by me, like I don't even exists. Ok. I hear the phone conversation went on about, a John, not the other John. Also about this guy's family, so the conversation carried on. I waited it. 16 mins later, the conversation finally finished. I waited another 70 seconds, no one came to the service desk, so I ran the bell with 2 rings. This young gentleman came out, he is Caucasian with a black frame glasses. Our interaction carried on as the following: Parts guy: Can I help you? Me: Yes, I need an oil filter. Parts guy: What year? Me: 03' Parts guy: What model? Me: Celica, 2ZZ (Parts guy didn't bothered to look up his PC) Parts guy: I need the VIN. Me: VIN? Why? I just need an oil filter. Parts guy: All orders needs the VIN (points at some sticky on their plexiglass) Me: (looked over to the shelve to my left, with the filter I needed, placed it on his service desk) I only need this filter, F1 style. Parts guy: Can't sell it to you without the VIN I do have the VIN in my wallet, but why would I need to provide my VIN to buy an oil filter? I have been changing oil for this car for 20 years! Me: It's okay, I have a TRD oil filter at home that I can use as back up. Parts guy: Ok. Trying not to waste an expensive TRD filter, only save it for autocross, but no problem, I understand this guy was trying to give me a hard time. He could've just asked me for the VIN right from the beginning, instead of asking me for the year and model of the car. Sad thing is, my family and I have purchased vehicles from this dealership, and also had our vehicles service from there. And top it off, my sister is looking to buy a CUV from there, guess not anymore. I also noticed all the parts guys/ladies I used to purchase from no longer works there. Veterans beware! I just came from the dealership and was in the process of finalizing a deal on a really nice car. As a 100% service connected disabled veteran, the dealership was re-writing the deal and I told them previously that I do not pay Maryland registration ($349), when the associate returned to the leadership to ensure that he was able to deduct the registration cost, which the included in the final offer numbers, the head honcho came out of the office, about 25mtrs from the desk I was sitting at and asked something to the effect of "what's the problem'? I had no problem, the associate went to the office to tell them that I wanted to talk to them instead of telling them there real reason he went back to them. I explained that to the head honcho and he completely stared me down and rambled about his sister was also a veteran, whatever that had to do with it, I don't know. He then rudely asked for the write up back and yelled in front of other customers, that me he didn't want to sell me the car, snatched up the papers and walked away. My friend then also informed him that as customers, it is our choice to pay either the dealer or the MVA. We then let him know that we would be warning our fellow veterans of our experience and his response was " I don;t care who you tell". No wonder the rating here at Yelp is currently two (2) stars. The price provided to us to buy the car was almost $8,000 higher than the price advertised on the internet and at least 5 categories of additional fees (beyond tax, title, tags and dealer processing) were added (including tow miscellaneous "dealer fees" totaling about $2000. A totally cool human being with great knowledge on Toyota vehicles, professional appearance and great attitude! He helped get us a trade from our Equus that was having shut off issues ( the car was perfect otherwise ) that no shop could figure out and put us in a great 4RUNNER was excellent coverage! Brieyon never once tried to persuade us into getting something that we weren't comfortable with driving or purchasing. A true professional folks! If you buy a car at Jerry's, all the other negatives aside, they will tell you that all their cars come with LoJack and that it is part of the package, adding about $1,000 to the price. Be aware of the following: 1) New Toyotas come with GPS technology that allows them to locate the car if stolen, making LoJack effectively obsolete. 2) Because this is generally the trend, LoJack itself has not been selling the devices since last June. 3) The equipment is installed at Jerry's, meaning even if you buy a car that is not on the lot, they will stick it in. What an underwhelming sales experience. I called today to ask if they had any Priuses in stock. The person I spoke to said they just got one off the truck today. I confirmed that it would be available to test drive that day. I drove over to the dealership and Jon greeted me outside. He claimed they had no Priuses, but I disputed this. When he did look it up in the system, he said Oh I'm the inventory manager, I guess I should have known we got one in. But then he told me that the keys are checked out so I can't test drive it. He didn't offer to find out more information about whether it is out on a test drive, etc. or try to contact the person who checked out the keys. I would have been happy to wait a bit. I called before driving an hour and a half to this dealership to verify the sales price and made sure I told him I was coming from Frederick, MD, with the sales manager, Ben. Once I arrived, was shown the vehicle and told I did not qualify for that price due to where I lived in MD. No apology and the sales guy just walked away from me. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I spent 2 hours with a car salesman Yong who tried to sell me a car with a $4000 additional cost listed as market adjustment. There were also a laundry list of different fees including LoJack for $995. When I told him that the 47k that he was trying to charge me for a 2023 RAV 4 hybrid was ridiculous and walked away we decided on a more reasonable price. I advised that I was paying cash and would return the next day with a check from my bank which they would be able to verify Yong and his general manager insisted on running my credit when I refused stating that I was paying cash with a check from my bank the general manager refuted with "Its a federal mandate" the government wants to make sure that we are not doing business with terrorists. I took my check and left deciding that I could take my business elsewhere, but decided to ask him for the record that he was resting to sell me a car because I could be a terrorist and the fed government was mandating it. He said I didn't say that. When I called him a liar, he said ok well we are no longer interested with doing business with you. NO I DECIDED NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU WHEN I TOOK MY CHECK AT LEFT. After working with an internet sales specialist, I had them sign off on a deal they sent via email with price and all fees and was ready to come in and make the deal. I asked several times if they would honor the deal they sent me and was assured they would. Not only did they not honor the price on their website, but they took that price and added a market adjustment and marked it up another 3k. They did their back and forth dance two more times never once trying to get close to honoring the deal they sent me. We had financing approved but because we didn't use Toyota Motor Credit, the price of the car suddenly went up $6000. Direct quote from Matt: "We can sell our cars for however much we want." That may be true, but that doesn't mean you get to use bad business practices and mislead people. When we met with the salesman (Jon R.), he didn't even give us the numbers he was running through our finance company, just ran it through with the price hiked up and add ons. He also didn't tell us the value of our trade before running the application through to our lender. He just basically came back and said "Nope." And then after a call to our finance company, I found out it was because the numbers were much higher than what they were willing to finance the car at. Really disappointed. Took my car to get serviced. Checking in was quick and easy. I was in and out in a little over an hour. I was nervous that it would be longer, especially because I was waiting instead of dropping my car off. The waiting area is very nice. There was a coffee maker available, as well as vending machines. I was able to bring my laptop in and get some work done on the customer wifi. My only complaint was a salesperson was trying to make friendly conversation which turned into a sales pitch to get me to consider trading in my 2016 Corolla for a newer model. Where to begin? Brought rav 4 in for a simple oil change! Waited two hours only to be given a car back that was completely flooded and soaked!!!! The attendant left my windows down in my vehicle and saturated my entire car! All my hair equipment was in the car and my business phone! All was completely soaked and trashed! Then they "clean" my car with shop vacs to remove the water and desecrated my seats!!! They tore and snagged all seats within my vehicle! This is what the "manager" mike emailed me as a remedy for the damage his staff caused to my vehicle! I have since reached out to Toyota corporate! Jerry's Toyota is not working with them and is acknowledging the event occurred but is willing to do nothing to fix. I have since contacted an attorney and will be proceeding forward in litigation against this company! The shear ignorance and disrespect I witnessed by this unprofessional team is sickening! The attendant Stephanie is absolutely foul and said horrid things about me to staff members. They minimized the damage they inflicted on my life all over an oil change! If you're looking for a car that isn't going to make their salesmen enough commission then they don't give a shit about you. I had the WORST experience with Tommy Thomas. He was condescending and rude. First problem was when i told him were calling a friend to see what he thinks of the car we were looking at. Tommy looked at me and said, "Is your friend paying for this car?" I said no but we like to get second opinions. Second problem: I let him know I've never purchased a used car and asked if there were any repairs to be done before the purchase. In this case the Mazda 3 we drove had the dashboard coming apart. He said and I QUOTE: "Ma'am, this is a $10,000 car, we don't make repairs". I said well $10k is a lot of money to most people and plus I didn't know that's why I asked. He said, "This is the cheapest car on the lot. It doesn't make much sense for us to fix anything". He was VERY RUDE and condescending to us. I guarantee it was because we were looking for an inexpensive car and he wouldn't be making much commission. I found the Toyota truck I was looking for through Cars.com at Jerry's. I called with exact information including vin number and about the availability of the automobile. I was assured that this truck was available. I spoke with a person on the phone to ensure that the price listed online was the price they would honor and was assured that this was the case. I arrived and fell in love with the truck. I offered to purchese the truck and was ready to pay when the sales person said "Ok let me talk to my manager to see what we can do to help you out". I know how car buying used to be in the "old days", but have no interest in playing such games. After about 5 trips back and forth the sales person finally offered to sell me the 2023 Base Toyota Tacoma truck listed for $30,284 for $38,000. I finally just walked out. I have dealt with Heritage Toyota before and although they don't have what I'm looking for at this time, they offered to locate a similar vehicle as they have in the past. I understand that the costs of taxes, tags, title and such are extra, I just do not understand why this particular dealership thinks that the "old way" of doing business is still acceptable. I purchased my current Tacoma from Heritage but live in Perryhall. I tried going for service here in the past, but will never will do so again. This business ruined my credit with their fraudulent business tactics. In 2022 I purchased a highlander, which should've been easy and hassle free. The online price was around $47000 I went in with a pre approved $52000 from my bank and $2k down. I was shown on scrap paper a price of $54k which did not include the down payment. I was told that I was not eligible for the sales that was going on but I was getting a discount for being an in area resident. They claimed that they didn't offer discounts to out of area residents. Nothing was straight forward. I went from the salesman to 2other people upselling me with bs. They pushed their Toyota financing on me telling me that I was not approved by my bank. I should've known something was seriously wrong. Not only did I not see the paperwork but everything was electronic and when I finally got the paperwork it was stuffed in an envelope. Not only did they inflate the price to $64000 they fraudulently put that the car had 2 miles when it actually had 28 miles. I brought it to the salesman attention nothing was done. I was having car issues they dismissed it a few months later a recall. The lift gate didn't work properly and the front bumper came off because the clips came loose. This was supposed to have been a brand new car. I stopped paying and let them take the car. Not only did they sell the car they charged me for the difference and went to my insurance company to get money for repairs that they made after they took the car back. Horrible service. I will never go back. Not only did they sell me a rav 4 that after 2 years couldn't be driven as it should have failed inspection since the frame was rotted out. Which forced me to get a replacement car from them at a rip off price one year ago. I took my car in for the second oil change before my free year ended. They didn't complete the mulipoint inspection at the of April, 2023 (21,400miles) which should have included my brakes. Now at 22,400 miles, my brale pads had to be replaced but now also my rotors at $180 for rotors! If they would have co.pleyed the check (not marked on my receipt) I would have had to only replace the pads! This place is horrible. I will never go thete again. I called the Lexus dealership and they told me I could take my car to any Toyota dealership closer to me to use the warranty. Called Jerry's on a Friday morning, explained what was going on with my rim and that I had purchased a warranty on it when I bought the car. The person said "Oh good you have Maximus, you'll need to bring your car in first so that we can decide if it will be a wheel repair or replacement and then you'll make your claim based on what we find." Couldn't get an appt until the following Monday (which was fine) and I opted for a drop-off so that I could come back home and keep working. Fast forward to Monday - take my car in for a drop off and have a friend follow me to drive me home. First of all, this is one of the worst, most overcrowded car lots I've ever been in. There were pretty much zero open parking spaces so I have no idea where people park when they want to actually purchase a car. My friend had to park on the used car side in a random space. I pull into the service bay at 1:15 for my 1:20 drop off. The two guys who checked my car in were really nice and the one tells me to go into the waiting area and my service rep would be right with me. TWENTY minutes later, I'm still waiting and go back and ask someone if anyone is going to help me because I made a drop off appt and didn't know why I was still waiting. The woman tells me that my person will be right with me as soon as she's off the phone. Another FIFTEEN minutes go by and no one has come out and I walk back again. Turns out, the woman I talked to first thought someone else had my paperwork. I finally sit with my assigned service rep and I tell him that I had the warranty and he asks if I called in the claim. I said no, when I booked the appt they told me you guys had to look at it first and THEN to make a claim. He told me this was wrong and I should've made the claim before coming in so that they were approved to get payment. By this point, I'm ready to scream and throw everything off the desk because I'm so frustrated. He tells me he'll call Maximus for me and will call me later to give me an update. 45 minutes later I'm finally leaving the dealership for a "drop off appointment" and my friend has been sitting waiting for me. I get a call from my service rep John at 4:15 pm telling me that he called Maximus and that they have no record of me having a warranty. He also tells me they are about to close at 4:30 and it may have to wait until tomorrow for him to order me a wheel which would push everything out another day. I quickly called Sheehy Lexus to find out what was going on, and the very pleasant gentleman told me that the tire and wheel warranty is through Lexus financial and immediately texted me the 1-800 number. I called John right back and told him that I didn't know there was a separate company and that Jerry's told me my warranty was through Maximus so I just assumed they knew what they were talking about. At 4:50 pm, John saved my evening and called me back saying he went ahead and called to confirm my warranty and ordered the wheel for me, and that it would be there the next morning. At 9:00 am the next day, he called me back saying my car was ready to go. It doesn't end there. I get a ride back to the dealership and head in to say I was there to pick up. John was assisting someone else, but came out to get me from the waiting room after about 5 minutes. I quickly checked out and went to the service bay for my car. Just when I think I'm finally in the clear, THEY COULDN'T FIND MY KEY. I awkwardly stood there for 10 minutes while the person came over and checked my invoice twice to look at the tag number for my key. She said "I need to find out what's going on because your key isn't out here." In the future, should I ever need anything done on my car that requires a dealership, I will gladly make the long trip out of my way to the Sheehy of Annapolis. The only saving grace of this whole thing was John helping me out in the end (after initial hiccup) and getting me my car back within 24 hours. They also fixed the recall on my car.
