My refrigerator stopped working. From a recommendation from a neighbor I called Jersey Appliance who gave me an appointment within a day. The technician (Brian) diagnosed the problem and it was merely that the computer panel needed to be reset. Having no idea what the problem was, he could have told me that it needed a new panel and I wouldn't have known otherwise. But he was honest and my only cost was the service charge. Truly a horrific service experience. We bought an LG refrigerator just over a year ago from Sears. Bottom line, the bottom freezer drawer has been frosting up, and there was condensation on both fridge doors. I called LG to complain, and they approved a work order to fix the fridge after I sent over our original sales receipt. So far, so good. Then, we met Jersey Appliance. Apparently the original sales receipt isn't good enough. They wanted a receipt with the model number on it. So, I had to call Sears to get them to email me the model number, so I could provide Jersey Appliance with the model number. There's an hour of my life I'm never getting back! Jersey Appliance came and confirmed that it is a legitimate issue. They decided to replace the refrigerator doors, so they had to order the parts and set up another appointment. My wife and I both work, but luckily our father-in-law lives twenty minutes away, so we were able to ask Jersey Appliance to call him when they were 20 minutes away so he could meet the technician at the house. So far, so good. The technician comes and replaces the refrigerator doors. Incidentally, he also drops and cracks one of the refrigerator shelves (and perhaps this should have been a warning sign), but he orders us a new one, which comes in the mail and is not hard to install. OK, here's the really exciting part: they didn't FIX the problem! And, when we called back to ask them to come back, we were met with nothing but roadblocks and excuses. I'm motivated to get this done, because if we don't fix the fridge now, LG is not going to care about helping us a year from now when the warranty has run out. Jersey Appliance was nothing but a hassle. Personally, I think they have no incentive to come back since they probably don't get paid extra to come out a second time. Based on our experience, I don't think they should be paid at all, and I'm happy to let LG know that, and anyone else who will listen. The technician got "sick" and had to reschedule the appointment. My father-in-law was pressured more than once to move the appointment he set up with the technician after getting a four hour appointment window. Finally, even though I specifically called several times to make sure the technician would call my father-in-law ahead so he could meet the technician at the house, the tech just showed up and then wouldn't wait for 15 minutes to meet my father-in-law, even though they were more than happy to cancel and try to reschedule our appointment several times. I called Jersey Appliance and went round and round with them for a few minutes on the phone. Apparently, they can't control their technicians, and they told me so. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. We didn't even pay for this visit, and I'm considering following up with LG and other appropriate organizations. They really should not be contractors for LG. It hurts LG's brand, in my humble opinion. If LG is smart, they will terminate this relationship. When I suggested setting up an appointment in November so I can be home to spare my father-in-law the headache of dealing with this inept company, I was told that they can't keep the ticket open that long, so they are going to close the ticket and tell LG to send another company. No problem, Jersey Appliance! I'm more than happy to tell anyone who will listen how poor the service you provided was. I'll take my chances with another company! We had them come out to repair our Weber grill for a family reunion. When we went out to grill we found the technician put electrical tape around regulator so it would not leak. We called all weekend trying to reach them to no avail. On Monday morning we were told they could come out on Friday. We had to throw out over $100 of food. read more

I recently needed a gas dryer repaired that was covered by a manufacturers warranty. I called the vendor and they gave me Jersey Appliance number. I proceeded to call them an explained to them that my Gas Dryer was leaking gas. They said they needed the receipt although I was referred to them by the Manufacturer. I finally was able to locate the receipt and emailed it them. They never called me after a day I called them. Now the complaint was no model number on the receipt. They recommended to call the Manufacturer back, which I did. The Manufacturer sent Jersey Appliance a work order to perform the work. I called them back and the women who answered the phone told me she could not schedule a repair and needed to check her supervisor. So now after a week of calls I am back to square one. Jersey Appliance is one of the worst experiences I have ever had in customer service. I would highly recommend not doing business with this company unless you want to be run around. read more

If I could give this organization a minus star, that is what I would do. The negative reviews do not do justice to how bad this organization is. Late last year I was dealing with an issue with a major appliance. The appliance ended up being replaced by the manufacturer. However, prior to that determination, the issue was being addressed by Jersey Appliance. The technician was so unpleasant, that after his second visit to my home, I called the company and told them that I would not allow him in my home again. The second technician they sent seemed to know what he was doing and was very pleasant. In the meanwhile, I was unable to use the appliance for about 5 weeks while a determination was made regarding its replacement. The front office was extremely difficult and uncooperative. They alternated between being rude and pleasant, depending upon who answered the phone. I am not sure why they have determined that is a good business model. As I was working with the manufacturer, I requested Jersey Appliance send me my service records and Jersey Appliance had one excuse after another why they could not send them. I recently replaced by refrigerator and the first question I asked the sales person was who handles their installations, as I will never let Jersey Appliance into my home again. read more

Our relatively new LG top-loader washing machine had a system error "LE" (Locked Motor Error) and needed a sensor replaced. My wife and I wanted to use someone local in town to do the repair to support the local community. We called Jersey Appliance b/c they were an authorized LG repair shop and we were hoping the part would be under warranty (which apparently it wasn't) and we would just pay a typical service fee. Unfortunately when Jersey Appliance showed up, they immediately charge you $80 (mind you they are located less than 1-mile from our house) to come to the house, then $130 for labor for the first half-hour of work, plus charging us $70 for the part (sensor) - so in total, we paid about ~$280 for JUST A SENSOR and 15-30-min worth of work tops. With a simple google search - I see the sensor online for $18 and takes ~15-min to replace. I called the service-man immediately after to voice my concern with the outrageous fees, but he said that was their policy and that he actually did us a favor and could have charged us more "if he clocked his time". REALLY??? However the tech, Brian Kelly was honest, nice and v professional. I will give them a couple of chances again only if they send Brian Kelly but the scheduling staff and their customer service is so much stressful that it will make you sick literally. If you can tolerate customer service's bad and rude unprofessional behavior then go for it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!. We had a very bad experience. We purchase all new appliances with H &H Appliance in East Windsor. We purchased High End Kitchen appliances for our Kitchen. This was four years ago. One by one each appliance needed repair within 6-18 months of owning them. They refer Jersey Appliance in Hightstown for repairs. We had a tech come out to fix a Wine Refrigerator. They came on December the 7th. The tech claimed that the unit burned out b/c of a wine bottle spilled on the sensor board. This is an $800.00 Summit, you would think they had a board to absorb. He claimed the part would be $100. He called my husband on Monday the 10th. The part is $300.00, he assured us it will come in before Christmas. We never heard back. I called on December the 20th to speak with a manager. A women that worked there stated the part was NOT ORDERED, I asked if a manager could call me before they closed at 5:30. They Never Called. We received a v/m from Brian the tech the next day, stating that Summit called for the part today. Fourteen days later, never bothered to call to say it was backordered. I spoke with Ralph, the next day. I asked him why, no return call, why they did not tell us it was backordered and why they did not TAKE RESPONSIBITY and expedite the shipping on the part. He stated that " They would not pay for the part to be expedited and they do not work weekends. Even though, he waited until Monday to call in the part. He was most unprofessional and Nasty. He stated, "Do you want the part or Not". Will be reporting them to the Business Bureau, Angies List and my Neighborhood Woods App. No wonder why big companies are taking over small business. Went to Jersey Appliance for a busted fridge & washing machine. Complete horror show that could only have been worse if they literally stole my money. DO NOT use Jersey Appliance unless you: - Have an abundance of money and like to over pay approximately 300% the actual cost for parts that get used for their repairs. If you can find it online for $50-$70 I guarantee you will be charged $130-$200 by Jersey Appliance! This is not with labor factored in, just cost for parts. There is always a slight increase for part prices but not triple the actual cost. ROBBERY. - really enjoy waiting while not being able to refrigerate your food. Go to Jersey Appliance & get told 2-3 day for parts to be ordered and shipped but in actuality have it take 14. No big deal right? I mean we have only had in home refrigeration for like 90-100 years, what is 2 weeks? - enjoy inane and/or lame excuses. If you always thought the kid in class that said his dog ate his homework was a laugh riot then by all means use Jersey Appliance. They will tell you on a monday that part X for your fridge is in but part Y for your washing machine is still out. This means they cannot come out to fix the fridge yet. Then you call days later and the story is now Part Y is in but part X is out. Am I taking crazy pills? Did your dog eat it? All of this goes on and guess what...you are still out a refrigerator. - LOVE getting attitude from people that are over charging you and not telling you the truth with regards to part orders and repair timelines. I was referred to Jersey Appliance by my dishwasher manufacturer, Bosch. I had several issues with Jersey Appliance: 1) When I scheduled my appointment, I was initially told that I would owe them money upon arrival. After I contested this ( Bosch specifically told me that there would be no cost to me ), they "reviewed" the ticket and realized that I was correct. 2) I was given a window of "9-5". I asked about getting a more narrow time so that I can manage my day appropriately and was told that was the best they could do but that I would receive a call the day off to get a more narrow window. 3) Today, I received no call by 11:00. When I called, I was told that my specific window was "5-7pm". I told them that I deferred meetings all day to accommodate them and was now told it would be outside the window they gave me. Stephanie "spoke to the manager" and came back with a window of 1-5pm. No apologies for not calling earlier. 4) At 3pm, I called to get a specific time and was told that the technician would not arrive until 5:30ish and that's the best they could do. "It's impossible" to predict how things go. Which meant that STEPHANIE LIED when she told me 1-5pm. She knew it would be after 5 but said that to me to get me off the phone. 5) When I told them I couldn't wait until 5:30 because of a meeting, I asked to speak to the manager. Ralph IS THE RUDEST MANAGER I've dealt with in a long time. Not sure why someone like him is in the service industry. Ralph proceeded to tell me that they told me an "all-day window" and that all-day meant 9-9 to him and that if I couldn't understand that, he would say "9-9" from now on. What an asshole. No apologies for planning to show up outside of the original window. And the earliest they could fit me in would be Friday and that they had no issues in moving me to the end of the line. HORRIBLE SERVICE! I'm not sure they're a very ethical company considering they initially told me that the call would cost me $89 just to visit even though Bosch stated there would be no charge. BEWARE!!! I paid $95.00 for the service call that lasted maybe 5 minutes. He did not have the part so they ordered it. When he returned, it took him maybe 30 seconds to put the part in. I then had to pay 65.00 MORE for a service call, 20.00 for the part, and 10 for the shipping. This little magnetic plunger (which I didn't need to work the washer) cost me OVER $200.00 and 5.30 minutes! It was my understanding that the $95.00 would cover the rest, but the part. Very Disappointed ! Scheduled apt and gave model # of my Sub-Zero when making the appointment. Representive said tech carried the parts on the truck. Had 1-5 pm time slot and tech showed up after 5, walked in, spent 20 SECONDS looking at my freezer, diagnosed the problem and quoted me over 450 for parts, 225 for labor and the 79 $ service call fee. I told the tech i was upset, and had expected the repair to be done today since the parts were apparently on the truck. I called the office while the tech was here, and explained my disatisfaction. Both Ralph who scheduled the service call and Bob who came out to make the appliance repair were just perfect. Ralph fit me in when my fridge/freezer were on the fritz and Bob knew just how to diagnose the problem and fix it on the same day I made the call. PSE&G were supposed to take care of it on my Worry Free contract but they were misdiagnosing the problem and it would have taken more than a week to do the repair after waiting for the (incorrect) parts they ordered to come through. My experience w/Jersey Appliance is comprised of 2 parts. The technician, which is the 1st part, and the corporate entity, which is the 2nd part. We called for a washing machine repair in the AM and the receptionist told us someone would be there btwn 2:30-6:30 PM that same day. Around 6:30 the technician called to tell us he was running a bit late but that he would be at our home within 5 minutes or so. He did, indeed, show up soon after he called us, quickly diagnosed our problem and proceeded to fix it. So far, so good. Impressive that he bothered to call to let us know he was running late, and he was a very pleasant young man. He was at our house for a total of 43 minutes, which included the paperwork to prepare the bill, the diagnostic work, and the actual repair. The bill was for $280, which seemed rather steep for less than 1 hour of work, and in light of the fact that when we first called to set up the aptmt the scheduler quoted us a price of $79.95 plus parts for the service call. Between the time we called and when he actually showed up, I saw a coupon on-line, and the tech said, sure, that coupon would apply, so the bill came to $240---still a hefty charge for 43 minutes of work. I paid by check and the tech left on his way. I called the following morning to complain about what I felt was a rather exorbitant bill and the service mgr explained about how they must have insurance against potential customer damage, how his help is not cheap, etc, etc, etc, but that as a way to leave me satisfied, he agreed to knock off $40 from the bill as a refund and said it would take a couple of days to get the $$$. When no money had arrived I called 7 days later to inquire about the refund, when the receptionist said that it takes 1-2 weeks (NOT a couple of days, as the svs mgr said.) I called multiple times, every week, for 3 weeks after that, speaking with a variety of individuals, including finally the office mgr, asking about my $40 refund, only to be told each time I called that there is no problem, we were in their system, and the refund should be coming soon. That promise started to ring quote hollow. Just a couple of days ago the office mgr told me the check was put in the mail on a Tuesday and I should be getting it very soon. The refund finally showed up today, a month after the original service call when we paid, with a post mark of Thursday, NOT Tuesday, as the office mgr said. We did NOT check yelp or any other review service before engaging this company, because this place was recommended by the appliance retail store where we, and several of our friends and neighbors, have bought many appliances- -our thought was that if this long-established and popular retail store would recommended Jersey Appliance, they must be good. That was a BIG mistake, not investigating them before calling for service. During the process of being given the run around about the refund, we looked on-line at yelp and yes, in fact, several customers complained about the significant charge for their service work, in spite of the receptionist mentioning the $79.95 charge at the time of scheduling. Long and short is that I certainly DO NOT recommend this company. I am left with the sense that they are deceptive, rather arrogant and not the least concerned about customer satisfaction. I made an appointment with Jersey Appliance earlier this week to repair my washer and they committed to a 11am-3pm window today (10/12). I agreed and took off from work to be available. At 3:10pm they called to see if they could come and unfortunately I wasn't flexible in the late afternoon, and they said that someone would be in touch to reschedule. A representative from Jersey Appliance called soon after to reschedule, but said they were not available until five days later. I asked if they could provide any flexibility because they did not show up today and the person was so rude and full of attitude, and told me that they don't make any promises with their timing and the date given was the best they could do. I've used Jersey Appliance in the past but have never felt the need to review them until the beginning of this week when I needed to look up their phone number and saw their rating and I was surprised. A few years ago Bob was amazing for working on our GE refrigerator. Because of his knowledge and expertise I would easily say he added a couple of years to the life of our refrigerator. If memory serves me correctly it was the night before Thanksgiving and he worked on it until he was satisfied. We were going on vacation and were very relieved we weren't going to worry about leaks on our hardwood floor. They serviced our LG washer over a year ago and were honest on what could and should be done. Found their service charge well within reason. We just replaced both at 12 years old, and I think that's OK. I think I owe that to them. Today, Thassio and Colton arrived well within my scheduled appointment time. I found them both to be professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. My service call was suppose to be only to clean between the doors of my wall oven but then I mentioned the clicking noise I hear when we use the oven. After he put the oven doors back on, Thassio ran the oven and diagnosed my problem, giving me good options. Looking around in my kitchen you wouldn't even know they were here. They are the provider assigned to me by New Leaf Service Contracts and I would NEVER deal with them again by choice. I started the repair process (for my refrigerator) with them in early February and so far, they have installed a part that they suspected was defective and now ordered the wrong part - which was discovered the morning of my latest repair appointment. I realize that people make mistakes but they refused to even attempt to rectify their error by having the shipping on the correct part expedited. Not only has my refrigerator NOT been repaired, we're back to 5-7 business days for this part to arrive and then we have to hope that A)it's not defective, B) it's the right part this time and C)that it will actually REPAIR THE PROBLEM. read more

Wow great service, great knowledge and very professional. Brian showed up exactly when he said he would, he listened to my concerns and knew exactly what to do. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it quickly. Brian also gave me tips on how to help the longevity of my appliance. While he was at my home I asked him a question about another one of my appliances and again he was able to diagnose it. Best tip of the day - only use powder detergent for your double Fisher&Paykel dishwasher. Liquids cause "gunt" to build up. I highly recommend Jersey Appliance for repair work on your appliances. I am so extremely disappointed and upset with Jersey Appliance. My washing machine broke down approximately five weeks ago. Bob, the service manager, who works in Asbury Park, came to look at the machine. Told my husband and me that the motor was shot. We agreed not to replace the motor as Bob said it would cost nearly $300.00. He said that it would be cheaper to buy a new washer. Since I am the founder/director of Madonna House in Neptune, helping poor and needy local families with the necessities of life, I wash a tremendous amount of clothes daily; I also have a family of six. I asked Bob if they had a good used washer that I could purchase, as we don't have a lot of money. He told me that a "commercial" washer was available. He said that it ran perfectly and that it would last for years to come. I purchased it for $324.00 on June 8, 2014. It ran extremely well until July 4th, 2014. I called Jersey Applicance July 5th and was told no one could come to service machine until July 8th. Bob came out and said it needed new lid switch. He would order it, over night it and install the lid switch on Thursday, July 10th. No one came or called. I called on Friday to fine that the part never came in. When I explained how badly I needed the washing machine and was promised installation on Thursday, I was told by one of the workers, "Well dear, things don't always work out that way". I was told to call back on Monday, July 14th. I called and was told part was not in and no one could help me and the service manage, Bob could not call me. On Tuesday Brian from Jesrsey Appliance came in, unannounced, with the part and said that he would install it. He left saying the machine was working. Tuesday night, after work, I was very happy to do laundry, but the machine was in the same condition as before. It was NOT WORKING. Wednesday and Thursday I called complaining again, asking for help, to speak to service manager, Bob. I was told nothing could be done. On Friday, July 18th, Brian came back to find out what was wrong with the machine. He looked at it and said that a sock was in the pump and the machine needed a new pump. He said that he would over night the order and install it on Monday, July 21st. No one came or called. Today Wednesday, July 23rd, my husband has called Jersey Appliance twicey. They can not give us any answers and said that they will get back to us. This is day 18 of not having a working washing machine!!! I am willing to pay for the pump if it is our fault, but NOTHING has been done to resolve the issue or fix the machine. If by Saturday nothing is done my husband and I will have to out and buy another washing machine. I cannot go any longer without washing. I don't think that I will get my money back from Jersey Appliance. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM JERSEY APPLICANCE and DON'T CALL THEM FOR HELP. They simply do NOT care about their customers. Whenever I call I just get brushed aside and they DON'T want to hear my problem. They have Madonna House's money. Apparently that's all they're concerned about. Madonna House helps thousands of people - for FREE! I can't believe that JERSEY APPLIANCE, a local business, would treat ANYONE they way they have treated MADONNA HOUSE, another local business. I can only imagine how they treat individual families. They have treatead me worst then I have EVER been treated by any appliance business. I see why people go to Home Depot, Sears and the like. Worst service company I ever dealt with. First time I used them for my dishwasher whish was only 6 months old. tech, showed up late and with attitude. Found a bare wire exposed and said I had rodents that bit through wire. Dishwasher is shot, needs to be replaced and left. I looked at dishwasher after he left and he was right, bare wire exposed. I put a wire nut exposed wire and dishwasher is like new to this day. Are you kidding me? This is a service rep and by looking at an exposed wire he tells me I need a new dishwasher? 2nd time I used NJ Appliance (not by choice, Whirlpool chose them). Whirlpool Freezer stopped working, 16months old. Made appointment. Tech show up on time (has to be a weekday and before 3:00 according to NJ Appliance. Tech. looks at freezer and determines that, and I quote:" Current unit for freezer not freezing, found oil film on drain pan. Freezer evaporator is leaking. Has a seal system issue. replace unit" Service charge $79.95 Evaporator $125.00 Compressor $4440.00. Labor $375.00 Freon $135.00 Recovery $75.00 Total with tax $1,316.04 (Could by new exact same unit at lowes for $11000 Plus tax .Called whirlpool and they were very sympathetic .They agreed to cover the cost of parts, I pay for labor. Make appt. with Jersey Appliance will take 3 weeks to get part. Appt. made for June 16th between 1 and 3 pm. Take day off of work. 2:38 pm get call from tech at Jersey appliance, they ordered the wrong part. Wasted day and lost wages no apologies from Jersey appliance. Set up new appt. Has to be a week day and before 3:00pm according to NJ appliance. Appt. set for August20th between 1 and 5pm. Wife takes day off. 5:00 comes around and no show. Call NJ Appliance says will call tech and see what's up. Hour later tech will be there with in the hour. 7:30 pm tech shows up. Troubleshoots freezer and finds a leak. Factory seal leaked, soldered fitting. DONE! Gives me a bill for $625.00 ! To solder a joint and add Freon! Are you kidding me?Tech takes new compressor and evaporator with him $565.00 that whirlpool sent to go in my freezer. Says i'll hold on to these new parts and if anything goes wrong with your freezer in a year (Between you and me, no need to let Whirlpool know we didn't need the new parts) call me personally and I repair for free .And off he goes. Next day ice make is not working. Call service mgr that repaired my freezer. Told him my dilemma, the lost wages for two days because of ordering the wrong parts and cancelling appts.,two and a half,months with out a freezer, $705.00 in labor costs, on top of that NJ appliance gets a new compressor and evaporator to use on their next client, almost $600. In parts an finally my Ice maker is not working (was working prior to freezer going ca-put. Was told I did not work on your ice maker that is your problem and the labor charges are what they are! Additionally, they were exceptionally courteous and efficient in completing the repair. Worst service ever!' Ripped us off on assessment and repair. Kept parts for next sucker so they can charge double. Kept on giving us the run around on repair time and part delivery. They also start out very pleasant but once you question them tney turn on you and get sarcastic. Customer service goes out the window. I would buy new before I'd use this service company again. We recently used Jersey Appliance to repair our Bosch dishwasher which was displaying an error code. Jorge, the repairman, arrived right on time and understood the situation. He explained that there was actually nothing wrong with the dishwasher, but rather the way the drainage pipe was installed. He unkinked it, and whoosh - the water was flowing again. I do think that the charge was a bit high, but on the other hand, he did not try to sell us a new pump. We were even ready to replace the dishwasher (for various reasons) which would not have solved the problem, and he convinced us not to do that. Jersey Appliance has been to our house for other repairs (on other Bosch appliances) and we have always been satisfied with their service. read more
