I called Jersey Appliance since three (!!) of my devices were not working. I was given the proposed fee schedule at the time that I made the appointment, so I wasn't surprised by the charges. The technician (Tasio) arrived at my home during the timeframe and within 20 minutes not only did he diagnose the problems with the garbage disposal, the non-draining dishwasher, and the no-ice-cubes freezer section of my refrigerator, he fixed all three problems. He also gave me good advise about routinely cleaning my dishwasher (first time I've ever been told that instruction in 50 years of dishwasher ownership). Tasio came prepared with factory information about my appliances and had done his homework before attending to my problems. He had to do some research - it is an old stove, but overall working great as all Thermador products do!. He promised to call next day and he did!. I work for an appliance store for about 10 years and over this period of time I have referred countless people for your repair service. I thought I would reach out to you to clean my dryer duct and return vents in my home. I made an appointment to do just that, but when the tech came out at 6:45pm on Monday night 5/23, he took one look at the job and seemed very disinterested. First he said he does not clean vents, when I told him the dryer was on the second floor, he looked at the dryer duct and said he doesn't know if he can do this due to a long duct run and he didn't have a ladder to reach the vent on the outside. On Tuesday when I was called about rescheduling, I explained what happened and refused to reschedule and the unspoken response I got was "oh well." Horrible! I had no choice but to use Jersey Appliance because they have a contract with GE to come out and "fix" the issue. I have a dishwasher that is less than 6 months old and I have had nothing but issues with it! I was actually told that maybe my expectations are too high! Horrible customer service. Waited 4 weeks only to find out by LG parts department the part needed for repair was sent and delivered to this company weeks ago, It was a fuse they had ordered! Lied to about the wrong parts being delivered to them two times. Then I was told they had the part delivered and would be out between 10 and 2 pm,l called them at 2:30pm only to be told once again they didn' have the part in yet. They would not let me provide information about the correct part to replace broken dishwasher under warranty. As a result, they ordered the wrong part. Really bad experience. Seems like they are like Taxi service. Only dispatching freelance technicians and that too if they find anyone to pick up the job. They keep you hanging till the last minute and then tell we could not find anyone to pick up your job. In the mean time I have wasted my half a day from work. Had the same experience 3 times. Called and made an appointment two and a half weeks ahead because I needed a Saturday morning. Got a call on Tuesday night confirming my Saturday appointment and time. Friday evening I got a call telling me my time had been changed to the afternoon. I expressed how I had waited all this time for an appointment and that I would not be home in the afternoon. The caller said he would check with the owner to see if they could make the scheduled appointment. Got a call back a few minutes later saying the owner said there is nothing he could do. Really? Most small businesses go out of their way to help customers when they screw up, not this one. The caller took my number and promised to call me Monday with a solution. No call ever came. Don't waste your time with this place. They don't respect customers. Call anyone else. read more

They do what that have to do, but they are not great. They wrecked my home twice fixing my washer by putting their feet with shoes on my walls leaving black marks all over my newly fished basement that was painted last year. Their insurance does not cover them wrecking homes. They left blood on the wall by the washer after one of the two technicians who was there cut himself, dented and scuffed the corners of the entrance of the laundry room entrance with their tool bags twice. They misdiagnosed my washer and didn't fix it the first time had to order parts that took a month to come in and wasted two of my sick days from work. My wife and I have no sick days to spare and asked if they can come on a Saturday since it was their fault they didn't fix it the first time and they refused over and over to come. They only go to paying customers on the weekends and no warranty work at all even if they make a screw up. They give a large 4-8 hour window when they are going to come to your house, and the one time they came it was at the very end of that time frame and I could have been working instead of taking a sick day off. I asked if we could be the last stop of any day they have so we can spare our sick days for our very sick son during the rest of the year when we need it and they said no because they would have to pay overtime even though it was in the window of them coming. What the heck kind of excuse that that? But we were last in that time frame! Ridiculous! read more

These guys are crooks with horrible service!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They came to fix my microwave, and after two and a half months of torment going back and forth with them, they broke it even more!!! First, after they diagnosed it, they said we needed a Mag Tube. Whirlpool told them we were under warrantee so shipped the part for free, yet the owner Bob tried to charge me for it. Then after a whole month, they finally get this part and after replacing it, told me now my cooling fan was not working. Then they ordered a replacement part on Ebay, that also did NOT fix the fan. Then they took my microwave to their store to fix. A week later they admit the Ebay part was defective, but they already threw out my original part, and now my microwave is un-reparable. Then they took out the part they bought on Ebay so they can get a refund for it, and left my microwave missing the circuit board completely. They brought my microwave back like this, as if this is an acceptable way to treat a client!?!?! My microwave is useless now and NOTHING on it works, not even my timer or over the stove lighting!!!! They are not taking any responsibility for this at all!!! How is a business like this still open?!?! read more

Had them come to fix our ice maker which is an under the counter big one. The guy came the last half hour of when they told me in the 4 hr time frame, was there for 3 hrs and said he couldn't fix it. Had to take it back to the place. I had to keep calling them and finally told them to bring it back if they couldn't fix it. They said they would bring it back totally cleaned and fixed. They brought it back but it had greasy finger prints all over it and never cleaned the guts of it. This was $700 later. Do not use this company; they are a sham. read more

And best part, fixed the dryer on the spot.Happy to be doing laundry again.He also said repair comes with a year warranty-it's a dryer, twelve years old, how much more can you ask?? My Microwave was gone out of work and I was reccomended By MONOGRAM GE to contact Jersey Appliance. I Contacted and the Mechanic came and he diagnosed the Problem and charged me $85.55 plus tax as visting fee. He gave me estimate of 738.83 and told me can be other part may be bad also worth $200 . He knew only one part is bad and gave me estimate which was way high. I think Jersey Appliance wants to make money only on first visit. BEWARE of THIS COMPANY. There are repair manuals on google for each appliance.. I decided not to go with this guy, looked something is fishy i ordered the parts which costed me total $96.00. when i checked the parts in the microwave only one part was bad costed me only $16 and rest of the parts i returned. I replaced this part in two minutes only two screw. and my Microwave is perfectly working. refrigerator stopped cooling correctly , we noticed it late Monday night, july 1. called for service Tuesday morning and around noon service man arrives, diagnosis problem, bad compressor, unit is a 2 year old LG that I guess was a lemon from day 1 and finally gave out. set up for certified tech to replace compressor later that day. they arrived 7:45 PM and by 9:15 we were up and running. they worked clean and efficiently . Having never used them and reading reviews which were mostly negative we were very apprehensive about going ahead, pleased to say they were timely, courteous, very professional and we seem to have a good working unit again. read more

The best part of our experience with Jersey Appliance was speaking to the pleasant lady who took our initial call/request for service. The noise emanating from the motor of our commercial grade range hood was obviously produced by the fan blade(s) striking the metal housing or shroud surrounding the fan. The repairman came in, turned on the fan and immediately turned it off (literally after less than 5 seconds) and told my wife that the motor was shot. He further stated the motor fan could not be accessed for repair and that the entire motor would have to be replaced. Additionally, the hood would have to be removed from the wall/cabinets in order to replace the motor. This, according to the service man, would cost approximately $1000. When my wife called me with the news we decided - No Way. When he realized we weren't biting on that crap the service man said he wanted to try one more thing so he went out to the truck and came back with a screw driver, walked over to the hood, turned on the fan, turned one screw on the exterior of the motor housing and low and behold-- the noise stops. And this screw turn only cost us $150. What a deal! His response to my wife's questioning of the service charge was "its better than paying $1,000". His explanation for the cause of the problem was metal expansion due to heat. The hood is commercial grade and has never been on more than one to two hours in any 24 hour period and has never seemed to get hot. The bottom line is that the turn of one screw solved the problem - not the replacement of the motor. The fact that the diagnosis of a bad motor that needed to be replaced was based on nothing more than listening to the motor run for less than 5 seconds certainly does not instill consumer confidence. You know what they say about first impressions. I hope this is an isolated incident but based on other reviews, I doubt it is. My recommendation would be to find an honest service provider based on recommendations from trusted friends. read more

DO NOT USE JERSEY APPLIANCE!!! Their customer service people are horrendously rude. They were rude to me, my wife, and even the extended warranty company (AIG) that pays them. How they are still in business is a miracle. I've been waiting 3 weeks for my washer to be fixed because they misdiagnosed the problem initially, were slow submitting the authorization requests to AIG and then could only get to our house late in the day. When they finally did show up, they were here from 5:45pm until 8:30pm and the problem still wasn't fixed. They are absolutely the worst. Run away from using them. These guys are crooked at best. I had a leaky dishwasher so I opened the pump at the bottom and cleaned it out hoping that would stop the leak, but then it stopped getting water in the tub altogether. So we called these guys and were told it would cost $80 to come out and diagnose. When the guy came over I told him what I had done and that water is not flowing into the tub anymore. So the guy gets on the floor, opens the bottom panel and starts clicking something underneath. He did that for 5 minutes, then he opened the front panel, I am guessing, to access the wiring behind the door? In any case, he didn't do anything behind that door, just left it open and went back down to clicking something again. After another 5 minutes he gets up and decides to check the inlet valve under the kitchen sink. Everything looks good, so finally, wait for it, he hits the reset button on the door and voila we have water in the tub. I was embarrassed to not have figured this out myself, but when asked what had happened, the guy gives me some story about some inlet pump and that he fixed it :) And he tells me he is going to give me a discount but then hands me a bill for $150! I am not sure in what world is a $150 bill a discount for an $80 job :) When confronted he explains the $80 is just to come over and the rest is his labor charges - $60 for 15 mins. The worst part is when he started the dishwasher the water started to drip at the bottom onto the frame and his explanation for that was "as long as the water is not on the floor it is ok" :) Guess what, on a full cycle we still have water on the floor which looks like a door-gasket problem. It seems to me that You Tube does a way better job than these guys and it is free! If you get these guys you will be lucky if your appliance isn't in a worse shape than it was before these guys touched it. Beware! read more
