I regret ever purchasing my Acura MDX from this dealership. From day one, the experience has been a disaster. We bought the car on a dark, rainy day, only to later realize the scratches had been sloppily covered with black paint. The car was so scratched up I had to get it detailed myself. We ended the call, he refused to consider I was overcharged. I called Scott Gomez, Steven's Principle. He said he needed time to look at my letter. He did not call back. In mid-June I had the perimeter alarm reset on my vehicle. I was quite pleased with the speed/quality of the service. Three weeks later the same thing happened again. (Note- the perimeter alarm is what triggers when someone tries to start the car with a miscoded key). I was told a couple days (due to the July 4th holiday) later that the entire main computer had malfunctioned and it needed to be replaced. The parts would be in on Monday and it would be done that afternoon or Tuesday morning. Monday rolls around and the car isn't ready. Tuesday rolls around and I call for a status report, only to be sent to voicemail by the system. I left a voicemail asking for an update, naming the mechanic working on my car in the message so they would know who it was for. Wednesday morning I call again, getting increasingly annoyed, only to be told that the mechanic in charge of my vehicle was no longer with the company and they needed to check with someone else. I sat on hold for a half hour before calling back and receiving a different CSR. I explained the situation and she put me on a brief hold, came back and told me they could not find the paperwork for my car and would take my number to call me back. I asked to speak to a supervisor, or any other real, warm blooded human being who may know what's going on. I was sent to the Director's line just to be met with 120 uninterrupted seconds of rings and no voicemail. I called the service line again to explain and the woman said she would go find him. After another hour of calling and waiting, I was finally told that the part was in but they needed to bring in a specialized tech in order to have the main computer put in and they were "doing some research" on that. I'm no car expert, but I firmly believe that a licensed Ford dealership shouldn't have to "do research" on their own products. They said my car would be ready by the end of the week. I do not believe them. (UPDATE: While I did receive my car by the end of the week, the final bill came to $500 more than quoted to me.) I would be remiss not to note that the employees I've encountered are nothing but affable (they're really the only thing that earns the mandatory star), but the general runaround given when trying to get an update on a vehicle, especially when $1300+ worth of work is being done, is nothing short of unprofessionally inexcusable. I'm not an unreasonable person, I understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances happen but it's very frustrating when you are not given any new information over the course of several days. read more

Google search this dealer and "jalopnik". There's a 16 minute video of a mechanic and two other guys driving 79 mph down a residential street in a customer's mustang. They could have killed someone. Very shady dealer, not willing to make it right. You can hear the mechanic talking about how much he burned the clutch up, they were taking turns driving it. I hope this place goes it of business. They lied to her about what car she was getting and how the contract was, making her sign the contract under pressure. They made jokes about her, the told my father to shut up because he was speaking in Spanish. And the manager of finances literally yelled and insulted my mom. When my mom asked to speak with someone who manages the place, the supposedly manager told her in a tone trying to making fun of her "I'm the Alfa and omega here" and all the other sellers were joying him and making fun of her. After all that mistreatment she refused to get the car (that they didn't even show her) and they were even more rude to her and refuse to cancel the contract that they made her signed under pressure. This is what ford is? Is this a professional place? This is racism, misogyny, scamming and discrimination. All the workers who were in that place and lied to her, made fun of her, and literally stole thousands of her money, should get fired and don't allow to work in any other place. Typical Bait & Switch - Waste of a drive I worked with a gentlemen over the phone on a Sunday night after inquiring about a 2010 Ford Fusion. He was kind over the phone, very responsive, and assured me the vehicle of interest is available and that he'll put a hold on it. Monday 11:30AM, I show up after a 90 minute drive from central Jersey. The assigned salesman then informs me that the vehicle actually sold SATURDAY and it is no longer available. I advise if your not looking to buy a car that day then DO NOT BRING A CREDIT CARD or CASH or they will do everything in their power to get you. I came here to get my parents a new car because with the intention of trading in their 98,000 miles Volvo XC90 that had its run. Our sales agent was young and tried to hustle us but thank you truecar.com for showing what we should be getting it for which was like 3,000 cheaper. So they send us to another guy, "The Manager" and he gives us a same discount price for a car they had in stock but at a higher cost. But then we work and negotiate for the trade in value and got a decent but not best deal for the Volvo. He said it will be 4,000 off for the trade in value plus the 3,000 discount we could have gotten. We accept and wait for the finance guy for about 45 minutes. We talked to the Finance guy and tried to give us the bull for the Ford insurance which was super high with a 2,000 rebate from the loan but it will have a 5.99% rate. I was like Ef that ish and get the loan from a cheaper bank. So we worked out a 3.98% rate with out the $2,000 rebate and saved $300. I also advise to bring a financial calculator if you know how to use one. So after about 30 minutes of talking plans my parents sign all the paper work and when we get to the final contract I stupid me did not look at the numbers before my parents signed it because I was exhausted and now I am haunted wondering how that certain number came about (meaning the car price). When my parents signed all the papers they had us wait in the waiting room again for another 15 minutes. I looked over the contract again and that's when I realized I wanted to talk to the Finance guy because the numbers didn't add up. Our sales rep said he's in the middle of a meeting with someone else and could not see us. I think we got hustled but never know now. The place could've been cleaner. I also did not like the set up. When you first walk in all the sales people just stare at you and whoever is the first one available will get you to sit in their desk. I would prefer if they had a show room in one room and then the sales team in another. I really only came here because it is the closest Ford dealership from my parents place. Like Ed A below I was looking for Mustang Mach-e Premium. Jersey city had two listed on Ford's website so I sent an inquiry through Ford asking for a price. Ford sent me an email staying someone would contact me within 24 hours. No one did. So I called and spoke to Stavros who told me the car was sold, for $5k over sticker, which is plausible. Today three days later some sales trainee combing the contact list for suckers calls me and tells me there is a big sale on the used car lot this weekend and also that they have the Premium still in stock. And it's selling for sticker. (No dealer in NJ has Mustang Mach-e Premiums on their lot and when they do they ask $3 to $5 K over sticker.) so he says he will text me the stock number and price. No price was ever sent. So I'm not going to waste time to go there and.get the BS that "oh, sorry, the car was just sold." Just a bunch of old time dealers who won't deal with the realities of online buying and want to get a customer into the showroom to work then over. read more

If I could give negative rating I would, this is by far the biggest scam I have ever come across. Not only after signing the contract did they lie about the lein holder paying for a week, but this dealer didn't pay the state taxes (which I paid in my contract) and they never submitted my paper work for the tag transfer. So a vehicle I bought in august is still sitting in my driveway as they refuse to assist with plates. Oh and they are holding the title hostage. Long story short and many trips to the NJMV later along with several calls to the bank I financed through and the dealership they finally let me in on the secret that the dealership handled plates. This was 3 days before my temporary plate expired. Went and picked up another 30 day temp plate, stood online at the parking bureau again and here I am one day before my 2nd temporary plate expires and no plates, nor will Barb, the person in charge of licensing and titles pick up the phone or call me back and the poor secretary has tried her best but has nothing for me. It should not under any circumstance take 2 months for someone to get their plates. And being ignored and transferred around the company is even that much more frustrating. Yea the building is older and run down, yea the front parking lot is skinny and yea their lot for their cars is around the corner. But when we walked in Henry greeted us immediately before our hats and gloves came off and was eager to help us. We came in during the snow storm because those were our initial plans and we weren't going to let the snow keep us indoors. Plus you get to test the 4 wheel drive which isn't a bad idea. We test drove two different 2013 Escapes, but weren't ready to decide yet. The used car manager was friendly, I think his name was Bill?, and offered us a great deal on our trade in. I have been looking to buy a new Ford model for several months and spoke to a few dealerships about what we needed and wanted...then I saw the great prices online at JCF and came in to see the cars. It played out like this: - The website prices don't mean anything (and the discounts are mostly incentives that we did not qualify for or didn't even apply to our type of car), and are just meant to get you in the door. - They WASTE YOUR TIME. Between walking around, "checking the inventory", "checking with the manger", before we even started talking about prices, they had us there for hours. It's like pulling teeth to try to see/test drive the car you want to buy. - Once you start talking about prices (online heavily discounted prices) vs. reality - the RIDICULOUSNESS begins....MSRP with the added fees, SEVERAL chats with the manager (where you're left alone for 15 min+)...etc. The salesman even asked us to put a $500 deposit down in order to show the bank that we're serious...and we can see what kind of a good price we can get on the price of the car. (!!!) There was no way those fools were getting my credit card (or driver's license...which they requested for some reason), before they actually gave me a price on the car - WASTE OF TIME again, sleazy "used car sales" tactics, trying to exhaust you and drain you. Every time we pretty much had just-about-enough...the salesman would go to the "manager" to see what kind of deal he can get us. As we would have just about enough, they would "take off" a little. - As I left the building, pissed off, and started pulling away in my car...the salesman ran out telling me that he thinks we can make a lower price work!! Ridiculous, I could never trust these people. I left and drove away....straight to FORD LINCOLN of QUEENS (who are brilliantly amazing...no games, and show you exactly what you're paying for). I'm actually thankful that JCF pissed me off enough to walk out of there, because reading the other reviews for service and hidden fees makes me realize that I got really lucky. Don't let them waste your time, and try to screw you. There are no good deals here, just online tricks to get you in the door. Go to another dealership. It's set on a back street and in a building that would scare off most of "The Sopranos." Far from countering that ambience with friendly service, the service center brazenly takes a "My Way or the Highway" attitude. One has to make an appointment for them even to talk to you. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. I purchased my car over a year ago. After a few months, i asked the account manager to remove the maintenance plan I had signed up for. I followed all the steps he asked me to complete and then never heard from him again. A year later i realized the maintenance plan has STILL not been removed. So 2 weeks ago I started calling Jersey City Ford to resolve the issue. I no longer live in Jersey City, so by phone is really my only option for contacting them. Every time I call, I am passed around to multiple receptionists who cannot help me, and eventually I get forwarded to someone's voice mailbox, which is usually full. On the rare occasion I am able to leave a voice mail, they never call back. Over the last two weeks, I've tried to escalate my phone calls letting them know how much trouble I have had and asking that they please put me in touch with a real person, or allow me to schedule a phone call for when someone is available to talk. They refuse to do either, and always insist on taking my name and phone number, promising someone will call me back. NO ONE has ever called me back. Today, I finally got into contact with a finance manager, who, after listening to my whole story, still only took my name and phone number promising a call back. I can pretty much guarantee I won't be hearing from anyone. For a pretty small shop, I don't know how any team could be so dysfunctional. Most of the people in this place do not know their job. They talk with you nicely and you would think that they will take care of you, but certainly not. They really need to improve their work. First time, they ordered my car parts, and when arrived they didn't bother to call me. I had to call parts dept and they told it has reached. Second time I went, they asked me to come Saturday morning 9.45am, and told that specific problem will be fixed in 2 hrs. I was happy, cancelled my Friday night plans, showed up there right on time, and they told you have to leave your car as they had too many customers. So, I asked them just to do the oil change for now. This took 1.5 hr, and while I was sitting in the customer lounge, I found most of the customers sitting there are not happy with their service. Just leased my Ford Fusion SE with them. It was a rainy Saturday evening and right after dinner my husband and I decided to go look at some cars since it was in my plans to buy one till end of May. I called a ford dealer on route 22 to ask till what time they were open, the lady who answered the phone was extremely rude so my husband told me to call Jersey City Ford. The person who answered the phone was very courteous and made us an appointment right away. We got there around 8pm, the funny guy on the front desk called a sells man to help us. They made jokes about his nick name ("mumia" Idk something like That lol) his name is Louis a very sweet and attentive person. I couldn't decide if I wanted the Edge or the Fusion so Louis took me for a test drive on both ;) once I felt in love with the Fusion he managed a way to get me something nice within my budget and different than any other sales person he never tried to push me to get the most expensive one he was actually concerned on finding the car with the perks I wanted for the price I wanted, and guess What? He got it. It was almost midnight when we "closed" the deal and Louis and his manger were extremely attentive and patience with me. Couple days later when I went to go get the car Louis took his time to get in the car and explain to us all the programs and buttons the car has.
