Totally scam and fraud! Be warned and listen what they did to trap us with the twice of the car market value. I and my husband found 2014 Jetta VW on cargurus.com for $7,999 and went to purchase the car. Unfortunately, the car has damaged structures and we could not accept it. Then they negotiated that they will fix the car with no cost and they want to sell it for the same market price. The seller Mark kept us in the office for 8 hours, finally they gave us a fake orange envelope with no contract in it. When we realized that we don't have a contract of the car, we have to pick up the contract on later day. Once we received the contract, we saw they made up fraudulently, the price of the car stated $14,300. And we never sign the contract. When we called to complain, the store owner Mohammed said that he fired the seller Mark for it. But Mohammed never tried to change the fraud car price. Not only that, Mohamed also denied to fix the structure damages which they said they will fix it for free. They are not only a fraud and scammer, but they also violated the lemon law to sell such the damaged car without revealing the history of the car. They fraudulently stated the car price as the twice of the car market value and signed the contract electrically by themselves. Now we stuck with the finance to pay back for their fraudulent price on the contract. Be warned that they have been investigated and that they lie to getting away from their fraud activities. Now everyone tells why they are not in the business to sell the car any more? Not worth a star, but who ever had the same experience with them like us and I'm sure they have need to stand up and suit this company. read more

I stopped into the (Park Slope Auto Center) this morning at 08:00 hrs. for my routine car (Inspection) and (Shorted out Brake Light) Drivers side. I spoke to Mr Mohammed about both problems. He told me that the top housing part of the brake light was cracked and water went inside the housing area and shorted out the Blub. I received a ticket for this on March 26th 2020. Mr. Mohammed said that I needed a whole new housing for the left side light the drivers side which costed $260.00 Dollars. He was able to tell me about my car's past care, which was accurate as it was a family vehicle so his analysis was confirmed when I followed up later with my family member. The repairs were completed same-day, and were done well. It was raining outside, and Mohammad drove me home - just a few blocks away - as a courtesy. He even booked an appointment at another local shop for an audio repair that was best done elsewhere - and followed up at that time to see if I had a good experience at the referral spot. I stop by (Park Slope Auto) this morning at around 07:30 hrs or 07:45 hrs to bring my car Chrysler 300 2009 in to change my Driver's side rear view mirror, which was broken by a (Food Delivery) guy a couple of months ago. Also to change my Passenger side whole back light casing which was $250.00 Dollars to replace the old one was cracked and broken, I thought this price was a little to excessive for my liking and was disappointed. Park Slope Auto is an honest locally owned auto repair shop. You won't find a shiny customer lounge or top of the line POS transaction equipment. But what you will find is: Mohammad & Staff were extremely polite, understanding, and tried in every way to cater to what I needed. They also have reasonable prices and I believe they generally understand most folks do not really enjoy lumping over cash to make a repair or maintenance on a vehicle. With that being said, they are also brutally honest & will basically let you know everything that is going on and you can trust them to actually give your car the best service you ultimately want. Nothing hidden or upcharged just because they can. Futhermore, if they do not know how to do something, haven't done it before, etc...not that this happens often or ever....they are the type of business that will be upfront with you and make sure that everything is completed with 100% confidence and satisfaction. They also were the cheapest BMW oil change quote by far (BY FAR) which many other shops around seemed to understand everyone needs to change their oil so why not just charge 50% or double what Park Slope Auto Center actually does. I haven't had a mechanic that I really liked and trusted since my former mechanic died suddenly... in the mid-90's!!! I'm really glad that I chose them, because The Beautiful Beast (99 4Runner) is nearly 20 years old and needed some work. This does mean that I could get taken to the cleaners. Mohammad took the time to show me what was wrong and to explain everything, which I really appreciate. And his work ethic and style of service are old school in the best way - customer first, thorough and reliable. Mustafa, who worked on my car, was also friendly, worked on that car all day, and didn't complain (was quite accommodating and wisely stopped me from trying to monkey myself into it in a skirt) when I asked if he could lower the car to get my charging cord. Finally, their waiting area might not be pretty, but the cream-colored single seat is _extremely_ comfortable! I'll take that over plastic seating all day long, just don't wear your most expensive white suit when you go to get your car fixed. Thieves thieves thieves! Came here to tighten a bolt on my car. I pointed out which bolt needed to be tighten to the mechanic. The mechanic didn't need to do anything. The car didn't need to go on the lift either. Just a simple lose bolt under my car to tighten since I didn't own the special air gun to tighten it myself. It took the guy about 23 seconds and it was finished. I asked him. "Do I owe you anything?" He responded. "Yea, the boss said $30 but he'll give you a discount. Only $25." That was absolutely ridiculous. This is place is awful and I would never come back. Rip off greedy people run this shit hole! It's never busy either. Which can mean a few things. The people here probably do shit jobs. The customers don't wind up coming back because of this. And lastly they are plane untrustworthy people. Save your money and go somewhere else. I went for an oil change and filter check. The mechanic said no problem. He also told me as he had the car on the elevated jack, that my brake pads in the rear were very worn down. He actually took the tire off and the pad and showed me himself. I compared it to the front ones and they were very worn. If they didn't catch the pad problem I would have eventually ruined my rear rotors which would have been a real pain and bigger expense. Made sense later when I asked for a receipt and got excuse after excuse, accountant isn't in, system is down, etc... this went on for weeks. Only got a response when I downgraded my review and then was harassed with txts and phone calls to change it. Kicker was when they asked me how much the bill was? I asked them to look in their system and got more excuses. Very shady. Fantastic service! I swung in here on a Friday to have my car inspected. They reminded me I needed to have brakes and rotors replaced (which I knew) and couldn't pass the inspection until that was complete. They offered to do it for me on the spot and quickly. They completed the replacement in under an hr and we're professional and inexpensive. I would certainly return here for future car related needs and issues. Great find in the neighborhood! Only reason for not giving 5 stars was they said they would email me a printout detailing the work that was completed for my records and after a week I had not received it. Quick, easy, & inexpensive. Mohammed and his crew took care of a routine service on my '13 Prius, for hundreds less than the dealership quote. Only hiccup was that after paying, I asked for a detailed receipt, and was told to write my email address down so they could email one After a week w/ no receipt I called and asked again. Three days later, had to call and ask a third time. Mohammed was very apologetic (but offered no real explanation for the delay), and emailed the receipt & explanation of services to me by the end of the day - and hooked me up w/ a courtesy voucher, which was nice. nice try but you ARE the repair shop at 651 4th Avenue that sells used cars as well and you are the SHOP that I brought my jetta in on 7/23 for an inspection, oil change and tire rotation. Also you ARE the shop that promised to E mail my bill after I made payment. And you ARE the shop that refused to give me my bill when I personally came in on Friday 7/27. I would suggest Mohammed that you either ignore my bad review or offer some standard apology which most business owners would do. BUT not a good idea to make believe it wasn't you. PS IF you like next time i can post your inspection sticker that is on my car and your sticker reminding me to change my oil at 5000 miles with your phone # on it. UPDATED: I provided an honest review from my perspective that I felt would be helpful to Yelp users, which obviously wasn't well received and for some reason it moved to personal insults. I'll number a few points in response. 1. Two garages/certified mechanics said my brakes are fine - yours didn't and failed my inspection taking money. 2. Air filtration is not on the state inspection list and therefore shouldn't have been checked in the inspection (Park Slope Auto pointed out that the filter was awful). This should have been checked only if I requested it or stated an issue, which I did not. 3. Masks are required by law for all businesses right now (staff and customers in NYC) in the age of COVID. Your response states that you take safety more seriously than other garages, yet you are the only garage (out of three) where not one but all of the staff were not wearing them. This is a virus that the health authorities are still learning about and it's uncertain how long antibodies last or if COVID can still be transferred to others during this period. This virus has killed nearly 600,000 people (worldwide) and confirmed cases continue to accelerate in the US. I have NOT reported you through the city 311 business compliance program but I'm begging that you follow the city/state regulations/laws and keep the community safe. Your staff enters other people's cars and at times are well within the socially distancing guidelines when working with them. Masks have been scientifically proven to slow the infection rate. 4. Yes, you did take me back to you garage and I tripped on a pile of tools that were on the floor. I do appreciate your concern in asking if I was okay. I'm not an auto mechanic and you pointing to something and telling me how bad it was didn't clarify much. The undersides of cars do have dirt and rust; I'm not claiming to know what is normal or safe - I'm only basing my review and decision on the majority of garages that had been to over a 16 day period. 5. With the number of miles on brake pads... I did say "aren't pads good for like 50k to 100k miles?" it may have been difficult to hear me as I was trying to socially distance and was wearing a mask. It turns out that it depends on the pads, and some last 25k, some last 50k, and others 70k - according to multiple expert auto sources on the web and other mechanics. The 100k was a stretch and I now know this; again, I'm not a mechanic and it's fine if you want to laugh at me for my question. I questioned the brakes being bad on what I thought was lower than usual miles; it was stated by Park Slope Auto Center that all four of my brakes (front and rear) and were horrible and a huge danger with only having 17,000 miles on a car.
