I'm back to update my review - it went uphill for a short time until every single time I ate here getting the turkey and Brie panini, without fail had stomach problems for hours after eating here. This happened going here months apart and every single time. My mother had the same experience when she ate here as well. My only thought is the mayo is left out all day. I'm talking really bad stomach pains and you can figure out the rest. It's such a shame because the turkey and Brie with the berry mayo is delicious but I've learned that I'll have to make my own. Once I began avoiding eating here when I wasn't going right home (where my own facilities are), I knew it was time to kick it to the curb. Also, the temperature in here is usually down right freezing all year round. The staff is friendly sometimes but not everyone and not over the top nice. It depends who is there that day. All in all, I cannot eat here anymore as my tummy simply cannot take it.

How sad it is that you own a coffee shop and crappy staff represents you. I showed up at 8:45, I'm sorry 15 mins earlier than opening time. I wanted to buy a coffee. I was turned down because it wasn't 9 yet. If I was in charge, I would have said, I can make you a coffee, give me a few minutes...in those two minutes, I could have looked at their menu, and order breakfast and lunch. But instead, I was turned away. I'm not sorry for crappy places like that, they deserve to have such staff. If I was in charge, the first thing I would do, is get rid of employees that scare customers away.

It was…read morenoon when the doors opened and inside stood one poor young man tasked with running the entire dining room by himself. This was not a metaphor. This was a fact. And yet he performed a yeoman's job, moving from table to table with the calm bravery of someone who has accepted his fate and decided to try his best to do right by strangers anyway. The room itself was lovely, still dressed up for the holidays like a house that refuses to admit the season has moved on. It was pleasant to sit there and feel briefly insulated from the outside world, which was surely still doing whatever it does to people who skip lunch. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto. It was delicious, earthy and comforting, the sort of dish that suggests someone in the kitchen cares. The portion, however, was modest for the price, leaving me fed but contemplative. My companions ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and a wedge salad with chicken, and both appeared content, which is often the highest praise one can expect at midday. With tip, the bill came to about one hundred dollars for three people at lunch, which felt a bit steep for what landed on the table. There is no crime in that, but it does linger in the mind afterward. So here we are. A good meal, a kind and overworked server, a pleasant room, and food that was enjoyable but not generous. Given the abundance of good eating options nearby, it will probably be a while before I return. I do not regret going. I am simply aware that time, money, and lunches are all finite things. Which is something worth remembering anywhere you eat, including places you like.

Time flies!…read more I was driving by this morning after court, having skipped breakfast at home in order to get a jump on traffic going into the city. I saw a new sign out front on a Bud Light white board that breakfast was now being served 7 days a week! Hot diggity! I parked out back and walked in to a mostly empty bar (2 customers who looked like they were regulars). The bartender approached and we engaged about their breakfast menu. It was pretty wide open if my desires had anything to do with eggs. They did. I opted for a sausage, egg and cheese on Kaiser roll, and mug of java. While it was being created in the kitchen I watched a show about exotic car auctions. A Borgati opening at a cool million bucks was an eye opener. Another black transport used by John Lennon around London was also put up and sold. Pretty cool entertainment. The sandwich was great! Double patty, fried egg, American cheese and a fresh, quality roll, made for a tasty and fun meal. The side of homefries was likewise excellent - hot, crisp and spicy with sautéed onions in the mix. Coffee, strong and kicking. The only shortcomings were the lack of a joe refill offering, and lack of utensils. Luckily, I had a spoon from the coffee, which was fine as a shovel. Afterall, Marty's is still a wonderful corner dive. It was made for comfort, not for speed, nor etiquette.

I passed it on the way to my hotel and immediately decided it was a place I wanted to check out. I'll admit I was a little alarmed when I walked in and realized it was giving neighborhood bar energy instead of the chic bistro vibes is expecting. I happened to arrive during trivia night, and most of the patrons seemed really into it so it was much louder and rowdier than I anticipated. So much for a quiet dinner. I asked the hostess if I could be seated in a booth away from the activity, but even in a less crowded section, the atmosphere remained pretty overstimulating. In addition to the enthusiastic trivia-playing patrons, there were loud, animated conversations among various staff members, music playing from staff member's phone while music was already playing throughout the restaurant, and just a lot of competing noise. After a three-hour drive, I was really hoping for a glass of wine, a nice meal, and a more relaxed environment. That said, the staff were all incredibly friendly and pleasant. You could tell that they genuinely enjoy working there and enjoy each other's company, which made it difficult to be too annoyed. Eventually, I popped in my AirPods and dissociated so that I could focus on enjoying my meal. For dinner, the Chicken Francaise with a glass of the Italian Pinot Grigio (The name escapes me at the moment). The wine paired beautifully with the meal. The chicken itself was a fairly thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. I also would have loved to see some of the risotto sauce drizzled over the chicken because, while the texture was spot on, the flavor was a little underwhelming on its own. The green beans were excellent. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and lightly seasoned. But the real star of the show was the Parmesan lemon risotto. That risotto is easily among the top three best risottos I've ever had. The brightness of the lemon combined with the creamy parmesan made for an absolutely unforgettable dish. I was genuinely disappointed that I couldn't finish it because every bite was fantastic. Honestly, I could have ordered a plate of that risotto by itself and left completely satisfied. While the atmosphere wasn't quite what I was looking for, the friendly service and that unforgettable delectable risotto made the visit worthwhile.

Walking in, the…read morerestaurant is definitely a number of notches up from your typical bar and grill, but still retaining a casual and fun atmosphere (love the moody greens and browns with the light and bright windows and white tiles). As a hint, I pointed to the Mother's Day reservations as this is definitely the place to take a special someone for a special occasion. All of the specials - drink and otherwise - are beautifully drawn on a big chalkboard at the entrance, so if you like to explore cocktails and mocktails, they're inventive here. Counter to some of the reviews here, we experienced attentive service with our tie dye hobbyist server Zach. He's so friendly and gets that New Orleans version of hospitality that gets to know the customer and tell a little bit about himself - hence the tie dye convo! I'm a beer girl and ordered the Spellbound Coffee porter from an extensive beer list (draft and bottles) and my husband and his friend appreciated the whiskey choices. Menu offers a little something for everyone without being overwhelming. Sandwiches, pizza, pasta, steaks, sushi and Mex - but it does really all make sense (and our friend tells us the Philly sushi roll is great)! Kids have decent choices too and I have to say that the fries that accompany the grilled cheese are probably in my top 5 of all time - crispy with visible salt flakes and peppers. I would also count my apple walnut salad as crave-worthy and one of my top salads of all time - a perfect bite of lettuce, blue cheese, dried fruit and walnut every time - I am not sure that I can try anything else on the menu when I go back (and I had a hard time choosing, as there were many vegetarian options!). Mac and cheese short rib sando makes a statement upon delivery and was delicious according to our friend. Not pictured, but chicken parm was also perfectly crispy and delicious. Caesar salad was a winner and my selective husband told me it was very good, along with his high marks for atmosphere, drinks and service. Definitely a five star experience!

3 and 3/4 stars…read more Someone said a "slice of Boca"? No, not quite. (Although "not Boca" isn't necessarily a bad thing.) However you look at it, the comparison is inflated. The latte was good (not delicious), but a tad watery with a fullness of flavor missing. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, but not overwhelming so. Tables were full, but it was only a short wait for me to place my simple order (by coffee shop standards) of a small, vanilla latte. However, once my order was taken (yes, the wait-server was pleasant) and I paid, I was left to figure it out. First time in and so I didn't know what the deal was: do I wait where I am? Pick up at a different counter? Ok...but where? Does someone call my drink out when it's ready (there's no put-your-name-on-a-cup thing -- which IS annoying, but apparently can be more handy than I've previously thought)? Is the order stated when the cup is placed down? The person who waited on me had vanished into a gaggle of chatting and giggling girls behind the counter, so I asked another customer. (FYI: you wait at the perpendicular counter to your left of the register.) No big deal, but it's one of those "little things" that separates the four stars from the five. I moved to the "wait" counter and observed a few drinks being placed down -- all beverages in similar cups -- and had to (again) ask someone else for help (i.e., which order was mine), as the barista who made my drink put it down and then disappeared into that gaggle of girls. (Also minor, but another separator of the three and three quarter stars from the four.) In short, the latte was good, but not the best. The service? Ok, but not the best. The ambiance? Again ok. Maybe because I've lived in SE Florida for more than 20 years, but it definitely does not have that true Boca feel. Nonetheless, given the options in the area, Hamilatte is a welcome attempt at something different, and definitely a preferred choice to Starbucks. I will return if I'm nearby, but I won't go out of my way (as I do for a truly 5-star establishment).
