I went to Raza's for a Friday lunch meeting, which is how many small human dramas begin. It was noon when the doors opened and inside stood one poor young man tasked with running the entire dining room by himself. This was not a metaphor. This was a fact. And yet he performed a yeoman's job, moving from table to table with the calm bravery of someone who has accepted his fate and decided to try his best to do right by strangers anyway. The room itself was lovely, still dressed up for the holidays like a house that refuses to admit the season has moved on. It was pleasant to sit there and feel briefly insulated from the outside world, which was surely still doing whatever it does to people who skip lunch. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto. It was delicious, earthy and comforting, the sort of dish that suggests someone in the kitchen cares. The portion, however, was modest for the price, leaving me fed but contemplative. My companions ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and a wedge salad with chicken, and both appeared content, which is often the highest praise one can expect at midday. With tip, the bill came to about one hundred dollars for three people at lunch, which felt a bit steep for what landed on the table. There is no crime in that, but it does linger in the mind afterward. So here we are. A good meal, a kind and overworked server, a pleasant room, and food that was enjoyable but not generous. Given the abundance of good eating options nearby, it will probably be a while before I return. I do not regret going. I am simply aware that time, money, and lunches are all finite things. Which is something worth remembering anywhere you eat, including places you like. read more

Terrible service !! 1. Came here at 6:45 WITH reservations ahead and ended up getting a table an hour and a half later 2. Didn't get the food after 2 hours of waiting and it wasn't busy at all 3. Came here for my wife's birthday dinner, had made a reservation but honestly did not need it. Not much else in the surrounding area but ample parking. Nice decor inside the restaurant, looked as though it had been remodeled recently. Service was very good, waitress took time to explain different items and specials, and overall was quite attentive. The cocktails that we got were done well, and they had a nice variety to choose from. Ambience of the place was nice, though wished they hadn't seated us right by the door, kept getting the rush of cold wind every few minutes. The food although decent was a bit overpriced for what you're getting. I guess this is becoming a more common experience everywhere these days, at least in this area. Didn't end up opting for dessert this time but they looked to have a few options. I'd come back if I was in the area. read more

Came here for an anniversary dinner and was extremely pleased with the entire experience. Daria our waitress could not have been more helpful and the meals were exactly as ordered. The octopus appetizer was grilled to perfection and both meals, Lamb shank and braised beef came out piping hot, exactly as ordered and in a wonderful presentation. This is a must stop place if looking for a great meal, relaxed atmosphere and professional service. Highly recommened. read more

We went to Raza's on New Year's Eve for a prix fix dinner with friends. The dinner was 90$. Short ribs with mashed were spectacular. Sorbet was mint, which was odd. The table enjoyed their tuna apps. The Traveler cocktail tasted like a mule bc it had ginger beer. Refreshing! Bartender was pure class. The restaurant itself is lively. The huge bar area is elegant with beautiful fixtures and dark charcoal/navy colored walls. There was a dj playing oldies disco music and people were dressed up and dancing. Really fun energy!! The bathroom was freezing, and not on par with the rest of the house. Will be back for sure. read more

We made a reservation for Raza's for our office Christmas party (9 people). The decor was Christmas themed and beautiful decorated throughout the restaurant. They had a DJ who played great music. The food and drinks were amazing, I had the Berkshire pork chop and roasted Brussels sprouts which was a delight. Unfortunately, the waitress (Emily E) kept making nasty comments while she was taking our order and serving us. So many comment that our table was talking it over and someone asked her if she was having a bad night. She replied that she wasn't. After that the service was better. There were a couple of larger parties there. Maybe they couldn't spare a second person to help her. read more

What a pleasant surprise. Food was excellent overall. Duck Breast and Filet was cooked perfectly. The Brussels were nice and crispy. The Cheescake cannoli was super tasty, if I had one small complaint was that the filling was very frozen. Overall a great meal. Service was fair. Coffee came out way after my desert but again that's minor. I think that they should have waited and sent the coffee out with the deserts. Ambiance is a lot nicer than the old Hamilton Tap. However it doesn't look much different structurally. They just gave it a face lift. A nice one. read more

We've been trying new places to eat as we just moved to the area. Raza's is definitely a recommend as we went twice in 3 days. The restaurant is a bit dark but not too dark, just right. The service we were truly impressed with both times. Both times they made sure you were having a great experience. I had the salmon the first time and the chicken and mashed potatoes the next. My wife and I came here for a date night recently, and we enjoyed ourselves. It was a bit strange coming here because we had visited the bar and grill that occupied this space beforehand a fair number of times, but I really liked how they revamped the space inside! The soft lighting was romantic and they had a whole bunch of Christmas decorations set up to make things feel cozy. We were seated immediately and our server came out soon to greet us. Overall, I would say she did a pretty good job, although she did forget my drink order initially and had to come back and ask me for it again. My wife and I both got the five leaf Caesar as a starter and it was a very tasty Caesar salad! I really enjoyed the dressing and parmesan, and everything was fresh. I was a tiny bit disappointed that the restaurant didn't serve free bread and butter since that's always an excellent move. For my entree, I got the harissa spiced skirt steak, and it was pretty good. The creamed spinach that sat on top of the steak was not my favorite, and the steak was cooked fine but didn't blow me away. It's not a cheap dish but I wasn't left totally dissatisfied - I think I will just get something else next time. My wife really enjoyed her filet mignon - I sampled a bite and it was very tender. For dessert, we split the whipped chocolate cake, and it was tasty! Maybe not the dessert I would have picked for myself, but my wife wanted to share, so I had to compromise :) I would definitely recommend it if you like chocolate cake, though! Overall, we had a good experience at Raza's. It wasn't a cheap meal, but the vibes were romantic and we had a good time. Beautiful place. Sweet service. Nice decoration and design. The food was pretty. I ordered a $16 salad it had squash pretty and tasty. My son had a burger pretty yummy. My husband had the pork chop also tasty. The problem was the prices were expensive for the quantity of food. The black coffee alone was $13 each which I thought was a lot. Usually when places serve tiny portions as this place did they give nice complimentary bread and this place did not. Do not think we will be back. We all left hungry for $100. lol read more

TLDR: great food if you're looking for a special night out! My family came here for the holidays and really enjoyed our time here. The overall setting was very pretty, although a bit noisy. The waiters and staff were all extremely attentive and friendly, adding to the experience. In terms of dishes, our favorites were definitely the calamari, duck breast, scallops, and chocolate cake :) The halibut chowder was a bit salty and heavy for our taste and the salmon was good but nothing worth writing about. I just went to this restaurant tonight and there are pluses and minuses to the experience of eating there. Nice ambiance, trendy like atmosphere. Calamari appetizer was excellent. For dinner I had the short rib Cavatelli, very tasty. What was puzzling was that bread wasn't included with dinner, it was 8 dollars for a bread and spread. That was ridiculous. Also a three percent surcharge was added if you uses a credit card. Come on. Lastly, desserts were overpriced anywhere from 12 to 18 dollars. Strawberry shortcake 18 dollars? Apple cobbler 14 dollars? I can get excellent quality Pastries from villabate in Brooklyn for more than half the price of these Pastries. That was a real turnoff so expect to open your wallet wide in a place like this. I think they are just trying to compete with luccas in 130 with going with a high priced experience. read more

Went to Raza's for a friend's birthday celebration. It is a VERY pretty restaurant, and our waiter was very nice. He even had someone shadowing him and he did very well. The food was good, but nothing was so good that I feel I would go back again. The biggest disappointment was that the portions were very small. We had the dry aged salmon because the way the waiter had described it, it sounded amazing. It was good, but we actually complained because the portion couldn't even feed 1 Person. . We were 4 girls, so we shared 4 different main courses so we all can have a little taste of each, but each entrée was on the small side. We also shared the fillet mignon, the Cavatelli, and the halibut. Like I said, the food was good, but portions were small and nothing blew my socks off to make me feel I'd have to go back again. I found this restaurant when I was staying at the Courtyard by Marriott across the street because I had business in Trenton. I picked it because it was the closest restaurant and looked pretty good. Boy, was I blown away! This is real fine dining, and it could not have been better. My dining partner and I started by splitting the bacon appetizer, which was terrific - done with some sort of maple syrup and peppers on top. She got pasta, which she loved, and I got the terrific skirt steak with chimichurri sauce - the presentation was also terrific, on a long wooden cutting board kind of thing. We also got a side of brussels sprouts, which were done with mustard and pistachios in a way I've never seen and really loved. The wine list was interesting, the service was perfect, and I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this place. Definitely check it out! read more

On June 1st I hosted my son's baptism party at Raza's and I can't begin to say how absolutely phenomenal everything was. Food was EXCELLENT and the Service was INCREDIBLE. Very nice waitress and staff, unfortunately the food experience was not good, I'm writing this review cause of how upset we were. Could have been that we ordered wrong, but we ordered Oysters that smelled truly funky....we order oysters a lot so not new to seafood smells, and we couldn't get past it. If I could give it 0 stars I would! Came here for Mother's Day lunch/dinner. The atmosphere was very nice! The bar selection was decent. My husband had Tito's and seltzer while I had Santa margarita which did not equal the usual amount of wine I get in other restaurants. The menu was mediocre to say the least, there hasn't been too many choices to order from we got the bread and seasonal spreads for $8 got a few pieces of extra crispy bread and tahini on the plate. The appetizers were ok nothing to rave about. My husband got their daily special while I got a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was great but the dressing was again tahini not something you would ever expect in any restaurant. My kids both got pasta dishes (their kids menu is verbal) we paid $24 for a kid portion of pasta with sauce! The restaurant is also located in a parking lot next to an Amazon warehouse $253 later and that's not including tip and I'll say I'm beyond upset.
