Family Cafe occupies the former Starbucks store on Whitehorse-Mercerville Road in Hamilton, NJ. Its large windows let in lots of light, so on a sunny morning the sun cascades in to brighten any mood. The shop looks clean, especially in all the sunlight. Staff wears black, and seem to have everything covered. My server was friendly and conscientious, although there was a feeling that she was being observed by other workers, by the overheard comments passed among them that sounded somewhat disparaging. Seemed uncalled for. The menu is comprehensive, and I went with the Cinnamon French Toast (3 slices) and coffee. My first visit, and the listed prices appearing post Covid high, I wanted to check out what the quality of the meals were before eating a $20 breakfast, that cost half that a few years ago. Wise decision. While the coffee was hot and strong, and the FT pretty good, my overall impression was that my breakfast was just average. Nothing to gin me up about returning for more. Family Cafe is a nice small diner style kitchen, with a bustling operation for local residents and business people. Their food is good enough to keep them coming.

Excellent location in Hamilton Township for breakfast. I ordered the Family Cafe Omelette with home fries. You get a nice size portion and it's so delicious. The waitress Maria is so friendly and nice and makes sure customers are well taken care of. Adel there the cook is awesome. Nice and clean all around with nice booths to eat at. I recommend to all of you whether in the area or just passing through to give them a try.

    Black hair inside the omlette

i used to order from here all the time until this past weekend. found a 2" black hair incorporated into my western omelette. uber eats wasn't answering my complaint so I called the cafe. after speaking with the person who answered the phone, she assured me that she would have someone call me back and she seemed disturbed by what I found. I explained that we couldn't eat any of our food and I had to throw it all away. no one from there ever contacted and I will never order from there again. $46.00 in the trash.

Light Omelette with turkey sausage, potatoe tots and wheat toast.

Didn't take a picture but chef salad here can feed a family. It's great. Service is lovely, just overall a good down to earth experience.

Am I glad I tried this combo! It was so very flavorful, and the poached eggs and hollandaise were cooked perfectly. The toasted rye was a huge, thick slice... totally unexpected but an expert offering. I savored every bite of this twist on the classic! To top it off, my takeout was neat and extremely well-packaged, and service was friendly and impeccable, as always. Bravo, Café 72!!!

The ultimate breakfast came with pancakes or French toast, two eggs and a protein. There is a smaller combo that basically is the same size. I could've sworn in previous months or years that they also would give you toast and fruit or home fries on top of it. That would really make it the ultimate breakfast. But the portion size was a lot to be desired. I have the corned beef hash, which was OK, and it was not too salty, which I feared. However, I think they were using a lot more potatoes and only a little bit of corned beef which made it a little bit of a letdown. The service was pretty good and the ambience was as good as I remember. They got rid of the bocce ball in the front in order to have more tables outside. Time to try some other places.

I got there 20 minutes after they opened and was the second person in line, 10 minutes later the line was almost out the door. This area in general is so woody and whimsical with a lot of different paths, antique stores and bookstores. The café itself is connected to an antique store and the seating is all refurbished antiques. The ambience and whimsy that this café brings gives me so much joy! The coffee and the donuts that they had were absolutely incredible. I had a hot tiramisu latte and I ended up getting six donuts for a Mother's Day celebration. The donuts were fluffy, steamy and freshly made. I usually am not a cooked fruit person, but the way that they incorporated the fruits in all of these pastries was absolutely divine. The coffee had the perfect balance of sweetness to the boldness of espresso. And with your drink sweet treats, you can take a walk around the little town and enjoy the weather and the scenery. 10/10 experience. I will be back here again to try their savory options and some other pastries!

It feels like a Czech Grandma's living room. Very welcoming and cozy. Lots of things hung up on the walls to look at. There was quite a line when we arrived. I felt bad, there was only one girl working and it seemed pretty steadily busy for the couple hours we hung around the area. I ordered a vanilla iced coffee with oat milk. They go super light on the milk. It was nothing super special. My cousin ordered the same coffee, and also some of the baked goods. The whipped cream donut was incredible. So were the filled donuts. Not boring, lots of filling, not dry. My uncle tried the Vietnamese coffee, he said it was okay. I really wish they had more food options. Im moving out of state soon, and have been curating a list of places I wanted to try before leaving. This spot was #1 on my list.

Such a great concept. Their menu has so many delicious sounding items but I decided since it was my first time to try "staples" which was a sandwich and soup combo. The cheddar broccoli soup was spectacular! The flavor and heartiness won me over. I tried the pear and gouda panini as my 1/2 sandwich which was also quite tasty. Oh and my iced raspberry cheesecake cappuccino was my favorite! Soooooo dreamy. And the customer service was great too. The cashier was super patient with me as I took forever to review the menu and decide on what I wanted. I will definitely be back even though it isn't close to my home which says something. It feels a bit more style over substance in my opinion. Let's start with the positives first! The place itself is very stylish, and we loved the holiday decor! Honestly, just walking towards the building felt like you were being transported into a mini Christmas village. The menu is vast and looks enticing. The place has a great vibe, with a good amount of seating (indoor & outdoor). Definitely makes for a great meeting and study spot! Now onto food and drinks...the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Frappuccino was not good. It was so overrun with cinnamon, you could see the chunks throughout the drink. I love cinnamon, but that's all you tasted and not in a good way. We barely got through it. The serving was large considering the $8 price tag, but the quality was just not there. The pistachio latte was definitely a bit better, but not great. You could taste that bottled syrup flavor and it just wasn't done right. The pistachio croissant was decent. Definitely fresh, with a nice, soft texture, but the Pistachio frosting was super sweet! I think I probably would have preferred it plain. The place definitely has potential, so if they can up their drink game a bit, I'd be open to possibly giving it another go!
