food was amazing and prices were fair. the fries were so crispy and flavourful, and my friend loved their breakfast burger (bacon added) as well. service was quick and attentive, even though it was quite busy when we went. the ambiance is average, nothing special, but it the food makes it all worth it. it was my first time there and i will definitely be back.

Since it is closeby, I made the trek up after work for dinner. When I arrived at the Golden Dawn Diner around 6 pm on a Saturday, it was crowded. By 7 pm, there was a wait. Clearly, the Golden Dawn Diner is a popular spot. Atmosphere: A The Golden Dawn Diner is an old school building. It's not a big, shiny, metallic diner, but it is older looking. The inside has plenty of booths, a full-length bar, and a dessert case too. I liked the interesting window design that separated many of the booths. Coffee: The coffee at the Golden Dawn Diner in Hamilton was good, but nothing to write home about. Food: Of the restaurants in Hamilton, NJ, the menu at Golden Dawn Diner has everything you want or need in a diner. There are plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options and a full page of specials.  They brought out a bread basket which came with regular dinner rolls as well as cornbread. The cornbread was delicious. I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for, so I decided to order the Guacamole Bacon Burger. I haven't seen that option before at a diner. The Guacamole Bacon Burger came with a lot of Guacamole. While it wasn't fancy or unique, it was a lot. The burger itself was excellent, and the french fries were usual streak fries at a diner. The meal itself was delicious. Service: The waitress was friendly, and my food came out quickly. I couldn't have asked for a better waitress at the Golden Dawn Diner. Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back to the Golden Dawn Diner? I liked the Golden Dawn Diner (Hamilton). If I'm in the area again, which is likely since it's closeby,  I will be back.

Bacon & American Cheese Omelette

The Golden Dawn is exactly what you could want in a diner. Just had a fantastic breakfast here. I ordered a bacon and American cheese omelette which was massive, stuffed, and absolutely delicious. It also came with a generous serving of hash browns and toast. All for around 13$. The food came out at a speed that would be incredible for a slow restaurant, let alone the busy one that I had I visited. Our waitress was Stella who was so friendly, kind, and attentive. I will certainly be back for another delicious omelette and prompt, friendly service.

The only catch was the kitchen put peppers and onions on top of, rather than mixed in, with my hash browns.

It was…read morenoon when the doors opened and inside stood one poor young man tasked with running the entire dining room by himself. This was not a metaphor. This was a fact. And yet he performed a yeoman's job, moving from table to table with the calm bravery of someone who has accepted his fate and decided to try his best to do right by strangers anyway. The room itself was lovely, still dressed up for the holidays like a house that refuses to admit the season has moved on. It was pleasant to sit there and feel briefly insulated from the outside world, which was surely still doing whatever it does to people who skip lunch. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto. It was delicious, earthy and comforting, the sort of dish that suggests someone in the kitchen cares. The portion, however, was modest for the price, leaving me fed but contemplative. My companions ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and a wedge salad with chicken, and both appeared content, which is often the highest praise one can expect at midday. With tip, the bill came to about one hundred dollars for three people at lunch, which felt a bit steep for what landed on the table. There is no crime in that, but it does linger in the mind afterward. So here we are. A good meal, a kind and overworked server, a pleasant room, and food that was enjoyable but not generous. Given the abundance of good eating options nearby, it will probably be a while before I return. I do not regret going. I am simply aware that time, money, and lunches are all finite things. Which is something worth remembering anywhere you eat, including places you like.

The hostess was very friendly. She immediately took us to our table. Then our waiter came. She was not friendly at all. It did not seem like she wanted to work there or serve us. We decided to move sections because we wanted to sit near a window since it was so dark in the main dining area. Unfortunately, we got the same server. Also, it was a very hot day and it did not seem like they had the AC on. Weird. The food and drinks were meh. I ordered the peach sangria. It was decent. Not too strong and not too sweet. My dad ordered a Coors Light. They didn't have it on draft so he had to get a cold glass. He enjoyed it. Their cocktail menu was very limited considering they have a full bar. We ordered one appetizer which was the onion soup. For our entree's we ordered the the B2 Bistro Burger, Mustard crusted salmon, and grilled chicken pasta. The French Onion Soup was delicious. Very hot but flavorful. However, it could have used less salt. The Bistro Burger was good. Cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fries were a bit salty but still edible. The Mustard Crusted salmon was meh. The salmon itself wasn't very flavorful. The rice was pretty bland but the green beans were delicious. The grilled chicken pasta was probably the best dish of the evening. It was very flavorful, hot, and cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed that entree. Overall, it was a good experience with minor flaws. I am not sure if I will return but if I do I don't think I will have any major issues. If you are in the area check them out. Cheers!

4.5 stars. I was…read morelooking for a place where I could enjoy a good meal in a relatively quiet, adult-friendly environment, and this bistro looked like it fit the bill. I passed it on the way to my hotel and immediately decided it was a place I wanted to check out. I'll admit I was a little alarmed when I walked in and realized it was giving neighborhood bar energy instead of the chic bistro vibes is expecting. I happened to arrive during trivia night, and most of the patrons seemed really into it so it was much louder and rowdier than I anticipated. So much for a quiet dinner. I asked the hostess if I could be seated in a booth away from the activity, but even in a less crowded section, the atmosphere remained pretty overstimulating. In addition to the enthusiastic trivia-playing patrons, there were loud, animated conversations among various staff members, music playing from staff member's phone while music was already playing throughout the restaurant, and just a lot of competing noise. After a three-hour drive, I was really hoping for a glass of wine, a nice meal, and a more relaxed environment. That said, the staff were all incredibly friendly and pleasant. You could tell that they genuinely enjoy working there and enjoy each other's company, which made it difficult to be too annoyed. Eventually, I popped in my AirPods and dissociated so that I could focus on enjoying my meal. For dinner, the Chicken Francaise with a glass of the Italian Pinot Grigio (The name escapes me at the moment). The wine paired beautifully with the meal. The chicken itself was a fairly thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. I also would have loved to see some of the risotto sauce drizzled over the chicken because, while the texture was spot on, the flavor was a little underwhelming on its own. The green beans were excellent. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and lightly seasoned. But the real star of the show was the Parmesan lemon risotto. That risotto is easily among the top three best risottos I've ever had. The brightness of the lemon combined with the creamy parmesan made for an absolutely unforgettable dish. I was genuinely disappointed that I couldn't finish it because every bite was fantastic. Honestly, I could have ordered a plate of that risotto by itself and left completely satisfied. While the atmosphere wasn't quite what I was looking for, the friendly service and that unforgettable delectable risotto made the visit worthwhile.

I asked for the lettuce, tomato and onion on the side. I also got cheese on the burger, which i believe was white American. It was so juicy, flavorful and the right temp, and didn't need any condiments. The Italian Kaiser bun has mixed reviews on Yelp, but I was a huge fan. It tasted great and sopped up the burger juices. Rossi's is an area institution. In Trenton from 1933-2014 and then in Mercerville for the past 11 years. It has tons of old photos on th wall of the OG Rossi's and the people that ate there, like Joe DiMaggio. It was huge space with a bar, tables and booths. With the girth of the burger and at the price (May 2025, $16.68 with tax), it should have been presented with fries or a side salad, not just a la carte. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan!

Years ago I took him to the original Rossi's in Chambersburg after they won WIP radio host Glen Macnow's best burger contest. The place felt smoky and cramped and alive, a beating heart of the local community. So he came back to town and said, Take me to Rossi's. I want that burger again. The new Rossi's is bigger and brighter and very aware of its own legend. The website still shouts proudly about the award winning burger, the kind of pride that lingers long after the parade has packed up and the confetti has been swept into the gutter. The official burger of Polk High. We ordered the famous burger. It arrived on a soft roll, thick and respectable, cooked properly enough. The beef had that loose packed texture that once made it special, a little craggy, a little juicy. It was, in a word, fine. It didn't part the heavens, and it didn't cause my friend to close his eyes and whisper my name in gratitude. It was just a hamburger. The fries were plentiful and hot. There is still a sports bar soul here, sort of. Televisions glow and beer flows, albeit very VERY slowly. The menu stretches wide with wings, sandwiches, steaks, things for people who want something other than beef on a bun. It feels like a place that knows how to feed a crowd after a Little League game or a retirement home on an afternoon outing. The service was friendly in the way a distracted and rarely seen cousin is friendly at Thanksgiving. Smiles, sure. Refills, eventually. Our server moved with the gentle chaos of someone juggling too many plates and not enough time or help. Nothing disastrous happened. Nothing especially polished happened either. We waited, ee watched and we ate. When my friend took a bite,he nodded politely. He said, "It's good." This is not what he said all those years ago in Chambersburg when grease ran down his wrist and he declared it the best burger in the state with the certainty of Biff Tannen with a Sports Almanac in his back pocket. Restaurants age and legends settle into routine. Rossi's feels like it is living comfortably on stories of past glory. There is nothing wrong with the food, but there is nothing thrilling about it either. If you are nearby and hungry, you'll be fed and you'll leave full. If you're chasing a memory, you may just find that memory tastes better than the present.
