I've gotten many sets here before and have always loved my experience. However this past week I went for a Gel X set and the technician was so rough with my hands, complaining loudly, and cut my hands 3 times without apologizing. They continued to bleed for an hour after the appointment and within 24 hours one of the nails came off. I went in the next day to tell someone about it and get my nail repaired and I was offered a $35 gift card towards my next visit. I am never ever one to complain, but this experience hurt badly, was poorly executed, and frankly not enough was done to rectify the situation. The girl that worked on my nails was nice but she gave me really thick gel x nails and the French tip was uneven and only some parts of the bottom of my nails were coated in white. After like 20min of leaving the place, I decided to go back because I really disliked what I got. I was charged 104.5$ for this gel-x French tip and I tipped 20%. (I always tip 20% minimum for a service) When I went, the woman at the front desk tells me that she won't give me a full refund because the girl did a really good job. She kept trying to convince me that it was my fault that I chose this color and that I chose this shape. The problem with the nails wasn't the color or the shape of the nail, it was the thickness of it and the lines of the French tip. She was extremely aggressive with the removal process and cut me a few times. She kept telling me that she could do them again herself instead of a refund but I already sat there for 2hours and 30 min at that point and I just wanted to leave. She asked me like 5 times minimum if I wanted them done again. Eventually she gave me a full refund and made me pay for the soak off and the 20% tip that I originally tipped the girl. This is a great nail studio. The summer oasis pedicure is really relaxing, includes scrubs and callus treatment. They are coordinated so all polishes are numbered so can match your pedicure polish to any dip powder or gel manicure. They then move you to the manicure area that overlooks 57th. Definitely satisfied with both my manicure and pedicure. I would come back if my future visits coincide with my nail schedule. The only downside is the price. With dip powder manicure removal, summer oasis pedicure and a new dip powder manicure plus tip, my total was $150. This is about $50-$60 more than I have previously paid in other cities for similar services. That being said, they did a good job and I would be willing to overlook the price once in a while because it has been hard for me to find a reliably consistent manicure/pedicure in Manhattan. read more

My favorite nail salon in the city, and very reasonably priced. I love this place and their Flatiron location equally. Basic manicure + pedicure is just around $50, which is unheard of in Manhattan. Super clean environment with calming music, and free water. You get a simple hand and shoulder massage with your manicure too. I've been to a few spots in the city, but this spot is the only one where my manicures actually last ~1-week before chipping. Horrible pedicure service and gave me the most painful ingrown toenail I've ever had in my life. I came here less than 2 weeks ago for a spa gel pedicure. The technician had absolutely 0 attention to detail. The spa pedicure came with a 10 minute foot massage and the technician was just aggressively rubbing my feet like she was trying to light them on fire for 5 minutes until I just told her to stop and cut the massage short. The gel job was very sloppy so much so that after a week they looked like a 3 week old grown out gel pedicure so I had to go spend $100 less than 2 weeks later for another gel pedicure (at Rescue Spa because I will never be coming back here). Worst of all, the technician gave me what has been the most unbearably painful ingrown toenail I've ever had from her sloppy toe cutting work. I literally had tears running down my face trying to cut the ingrown nail and even days later it is still in pain and I can't wear heels. Do yourself a favor and AVOID AT ALL COSTS for a pedicure. read more

My boyfriend and I chose the summer oasis pedicure. My nail technician got started and my boyfriend was just sitting there for at least 20 minutes before the other lady showed up to start doing his feet. Ok, no problem, maybe she was using the bathroom or on break, but at least give us a heads up. When she came, she rushed EVERYTHING; the "mud masque" was probably on his feet for about 30 seconds before she rushed and rinsed it off...With a mud masque, we were expecting some type of mud or clay; nope, it just looked like dirty grey water. The magic exfoliator, also, was on his feet for about 30 seconds.  When she started to clip his nails, and actually cleaning up the nails, she just clipped away, rinsed his feet, and said he was done. His feet looked like they did when we first got there-- DISAPPOINTING! This place is only getting two starts because my nail technician did an awesome job. I spent a really relaxing one hour at this studio getting a pedicure with a friend. The interior is bright and easy on the eyes, with gentle piano playing in the background. The massage chair was soft and kneaded my back while I was getting the pedicure. We made a reservation for 3pm on a Sunday. When we got there the salon was empty, but around 3:30 another 7 people slowly trickled in so highly recommend a reservation! I had the gel pedicure with massage. It started off feeling a bit rushed / aggressive, though I may just not be used to having my nails filed down. My technician tested the color on one nail and asked me if it was okay -- thank goodness because the color came out more nude than I had hoped -- so I chose another color. The end result was clean and beautiful. The massage was too gentle for my taste but I failed to communicate that, next time I'll ask them to go a little harder. I can't speak to the cost as I'm not quite sure what the "market rate" is, but the pedicure job was done nicely! read more
