    Gel mani

I decided to try a new nail studio and it did not disappoint! It was very clean, professional and quality especially for the cost. I got a basic gel mani and it was $45 and it included a mini neck massage, trimmed and pushed back cuticles (which I always feel like never gets done anymore) and great detail when painting my nails as well. It was one of the best manicures I've had for the price and time (and I've been getting my nails done for 7 years straight). I will be going back!

Absolutely destroyed one of my fingers by cutting the cuticle too to far. It bled for an hour, avoid at all costs. Best part- no discount after this injury, full price for the this. Was my first time and will certainly be my last.

Nancy was great! Super fast, clean, well done techniques plus a quick shoulder massage. I got a Gel Manicure, it was $48 before tip.

Nancy was great! Clean, fast, well done technique. $48 for gel mani. They have a great aesthetic to the place, I liked that they have a more quiet relaxing atmosphere which they enforce with signs to keep your voice down and phone calls brief. Definitely adds to the relaxation.

Popped in here randomly as it was near my event - and wow - they did a superb meticulous job for my holiday nails ! Got a gel manicure with some holiday sparkles. They even have a 7 day guarantee. Would recommend.

Love love love this place. I see Emma for my pedicures. I always treat myself for the Summer Oasis or Summer Heaven pedicure which includes massage and callus removal. Totally worth it!! Super clean and many different color options which is great - regular polish, gel or dip.

What I got : Gel Manicure Price : $47 (without tip) Quality : they did a great job! Probably the most meticulous gel manicure I've ever had. I got a single color, and it took a total of ~45 - 60 minutes. I was impressed by the quality and definitely worth the price! Appointment : Yes, they let me make a same day appointment for 7:45pm which was convenient (there are 2 Summer nails in NYC so make sure you are making an appointment at the right one Atmosphere: Very relaxing. They have signs up about not being on your cell phone and everyone was socially distant so it never felt to crowded.

So happy this is in my neighborhood! I only get my nails done for big events (which as you can imagine during these past few years of COVID have been pretty scarce). So suffice to say I came in with no idea of what I wanted or where to get started. My person did a great job of navigating this. She listened to what the occasion was (a wedding), what color outfit I'd be wearing, showed me several colors and even test trialed them on my nail to ultimately help me choose. From there, it was a very smooth and relaxing process. The result was excellent and have actually lasted me almost 2 weeks with very minimal changes. I got the regular gel mani and it was $45 pre tip and tax. They also gave me a guarantee card saying I could come back within a week if there are any chips whatsoever and they'd fix it. What an efficient and professional place! I would definitely return for my next occasion. :)

I never regretted going to Summer Nail Studio for my nail design this winter. It stayed so long and I had a good time with my nail tech.

Hospitality is great, front office manager gentleman is sweet and welcoming. My nail technician was Jee Young. She was professional, meticulous and very thoughtful. It truly creates a relaxing atmosphere. However, I've noticed that the quality of the mani & pedi has declined over the years, which has made me hesitant to return, even though it's in the most convenient location for me. These days when I returned, it's just for last minute color change to avoid more damage. I referred a friend to join me for a mani/pedi once, and she also mentioned that while the ambiance is great, but the owners should get their own mani & pedi done by their technicians, which I completely agree with. While I usually don't like getting my cuticles pushed or cut, I really appreciate that they respected that preference. However, when it comes to removing polish, it's done very recklessly with a lack of attention to detail. On several occasions, they've scraped the skin around the nails--sometimes cutting it to the point where it bled and required a bandage. When I mentioned this to the hostess after she asked for feedback, she dismissed it by saying I have sensitive skin. Since when is it normal for skin to be scraped during a mani/pedi? Additionally, I've had gel mani here twice in a row, and the technician over-shaved to the point where my nails ended up paper-thin that I have to ask the technician to apply extra coats to make up for it. One time, the technician even touched my skin with the machine that is used to shave the gel polish off. I've also had my skin scraped during pedicures, which is concerning. Every time I get a gel mani, within two weeks, the polish would start to lift on the cuticle side, which shows a lack of precision during the application. My friend got a regular mani & pedi here, and one of her nails chipped within a day. While I still love the atmosphere and the owners, the decline in the quality of the services, especially regarding polish removal, nail care, and attention to detail, has made me hesitant on coming back.

The interior design of the space is what pulled my attention when walking up 9th Ave. It is chic yet accessible and never approaches being or feeling gaudy. Very clean look (and space). Great color palate used. Very comfortable chairs. Good use of white space accentuated with green angular paint and golden decals and other ornamentations, all done minimally and with purposeful placement. Carmen (my nail tech) made good efforts and took obvious care to give me a nice buff manicure, all for only $27 (+ a small amount of tax). No nips or cuts. No pain. Textbook technique. Picked up well on when I wanted to zen out to the aura of the space and the well-curated spa playlist vs when I was open to a little nail tech kiki. Loved the sugar scrub they use for the hand massage. I take ownership for not getting the pre-cuticle work nail soak as part of the provided service. IMO, if a nail salon doesn't automatically incorporate the soak into your mani, you as the customer should speak up when the softening gel is pulled out and before it is applied. If they don't offer it? That's another thing. But I didn't test those waters and cannot speak to Nail Me Right (goodness gravy I love the business name!). So, keep in mind if the soak is your thing. They were very accommodating from the moment I arrived until I left. So I have a hunch this request wouldn't be a problem. Same with the end result. You as the customer are responsible for checking your nails / hands / feet / whatever before ending the appointment. I was late for my next appointment and did not, later seeing I would've like a little extra work done where the far end of nail edges meets the finger and a shinier buff applied. Again, I am quite sure Carmen would have accommodated had I done my part and spoken up before leaving. Still, I woke up the next morning to those slight extra bits naturally working themselves out (which points to the moisturizing measures NMR applies being of good quality), and my hand looking nice. I plan to pop in next time I'm in the area and in the market for some nail / hand / foot love, and hope you'll consider doing the same to support this family and what they're working to bring to the neighborhood.
