They might greet the person before or after me, but I consistently receive no eye contact while cashiers hold their own conversation while checking me out. At the end of my transaction today, a cashier with the first initial B looked down at her phone and said something about "I have to take care of this", and only realized she was still dealing with a customer when I looked directly at her, smiled, and said thank you, which she did return. I said no, and was told I could not place an order as they received a very large order and would accept no more orders for the time being. The woman who entered after me was told the same thing.
