My boyfriend and I stopped at Jersey Mikes last night after all my friends have raved about how they have the best subs. Best subs? Eh. I quickly found out that I like DiBella's subs much more than Jersey Mikes. The menu is rather simple. Typical subs no matter where you go. I got the number 13, a cold sub. While I liked that the sandwich maker cut my lunch meat fresh in front of me, I didn't care for the hard bread she pulled off a rack. That's when it hit me how much I don't like cold subs. The toppings were limited to 'Mikes Way', which was onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices. No tomato and onion for me. Sub kind of lacked flavor so I had to ask for a side of mayo. Wish there was more bread options it flavors. Bread was pretty hard, close to breaking a tooth with each bite. Lunch meat was top notch though. My boyfriend got a chipotle cheese steak, which is a hot sub. He said it lacked Chipotle mayo but the cheese steak was really tasty. We weren't asked if we wanted a drink or anything, which I thought was weird, but since it just opened I'll let it slide. Service was fast and employees were really friendly. I wish there was more options for hot subs, I'll likely get a wrap (you can make any sub a wrap) or even sub in a tub (salad). Few TV's and plenty of booths and tables to choose from. Very clean. Alright so here's my final take on Jersey Mikes, decent subs that are decently priced and that's really about it. It's just decent, average, "eh". There isn't really any wow factor with some of their subs. They're just ok. I have tried a few of their different subs and the ones I have ordered again, were the Meatball, Philly Cheesesteak, and the Original Italian. The meatball wasn't that good, it was super sloppy, and the sauce wasn't that flavorful compared to other places. The Philly just doesn't stack up with some of their competitors, but it's still pretty good and hardy. The Italian is my favorite of the three for this chain, but again just "eh". read more

Jersey Mike's is my favorite local place to quickly grab a hot sub! I've eaten there over a dozen times, but I've only ever gotten the #42 Chipotle Chicken Cheese Steak. (One time they accidentally substituted my chicken for steak and that was good, too.) The service is relatively quick and the employees are always friendly. They don't mind special requests to modify your order. The sandwiches are flavorful and delicious. Price is reasonable. Pro: - Sign up for their email club and you'll receive coupons and notifications as to when they're having special sales! Con: - Location: 23 Mile Rd/Gratiot intersection. From where I live, I have to go through that terribly busy intersection on my way TO and FROM Jersey Mike's, therefore making the trip take longer than desirable, but not terrible. i was really happy when Jersey Miike's opened near my home. I stopped in yesterday to give them a try. I walked in and one person was at the counter waiting for his sub to be made. Three employees were behind the conter talking to eachother and joking My first impression was ....this was a friendly place. I was not in a hurry so... I checked out the menu for a long long time while I waited for them to finish talking. I then went to the end of the counter and waited and waited and waited. I seriously looked around to see if I was on candid camera. The three people would look at me and look away and never acknowledge I was there. It was like I was invisible. I finally just left and went to Meijers and bought lunch meat and made my own sub. They did even say good by when I left. This was one of the worst customer service I have experienced. Obviously the help is very imature and unorganized. If they would have been busy I may understand but only one customer was in the place. Sorry Mikie you probably should stay in Jersey. The girl asks what I want and when I tell my number, but no mayo she says "tell the next girl toppings, I only need to know which sub". Fine. Then she asks my brother who's next in line if he wants mayo. WTF?!? They just opened Wednesday. Went Saturday was crowded but service was great. These subs are very large for the regular size. They blew a couple other popular sub places out of the water. The prices are fair for the portions you get. Many to choose from. The meat and cheeses are really good quality. I highly recommend this place. read more

I like to modify "Mikes Way" because I am picky and the staff is really good at understand. However, price is too high in my opinion.
