This one has essentially the same feel and the food is almost identical as well. I do believe there is an argument to be made that this is the best cheesesteak you can get in Michigan, as the meat is super tender, the bread is very soft and feels like you're biting into a pillow (in a good way) and they offer different toppings as well as their delicious pepper relish. The food and service are no doubt great, with the simple rustic decor giving the place added charm. There are two minor reasons they don't get a perfect score to me. For one the bread, while delicious, is way too delicate. If it absorbs too much moisture from the meat it will break in your hands while you are eating and then you are using a spoon at that point. Secondly I feel like the size of my sandwich was a bit underwhelming as far as length was concerned. They could have put more meat in it as I've seen them really stuff mine at the Ypsilanti location. Marvin, the owner, is one of the most genuine and hardworking people you'll meet. He clearly takes pride in his store and in serving the Canton community. You can tell he cares about the customers and the neighborhood, and that kind of leadership shows throughout the entire place. His sons and the rest of the staff are just as friendly and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place where you're treated like a neighbor rather than just another customer. We learned the owner Kevin passed away recently, they were closed for a bit but are now back open. We stopped by today to show our support for them during this trying time. Kevin had helped us many times in the past, always with a smile and a Thank You when we ordered. He will definitely be missed, but we know the staff will carry on and keep delivering fantastic food for the community moving forward.
