I went there expecting a deli. It was more like a cafeteria. The food was okay but I wanted a good deli sandwich.

Can I just say that I do not at all understand these critical reviews of Bravo…read more My family and I have been to this location MANY times and all of these critiques seem completely unwarranted and inaccurate. For one, the food is very very good. Bravo has 4 dishes that I would say are exceptional: Chicken Marsala, the Chicken Scalopini, the Pasta Bravo and the Salmon Sandwich. The Chicken Marsala is one of the best iterations in the area. What I like about it personally is that it isn't overly sweet and fruity like many other Marsallas. The garlic and mushrooms are well represented in the sauce and the chicken is always moist and never dry. The Chicken Scalopini is the "freshest" version of Scalopini amongst Italian restaurants in the area. What I mean by that is that this isn't some processed white sauce thrown over chicken. This dish has one of the best lemon butter cream sauces in the area and the feta, mushrooms and capers make it the most sophisticated iterations of the dish in the area. It's far above Olive Garden's version and slightly above Carraba's. The Pasta Bravo is like a Penne Alla Vodka with chicken. The sauce is, again, very unique and the best of its type in the area. Bravo has great sauces! It's very very fresh tasting with no artificial sweetness or textures that plague other pasta dishes like this in the area. Finally, their Salmon Sandwich is possibly the best lunch option in the Livonia area. I don't know who their salmon supplier is, but for some reason the salmon they use is incredibly moist and buttery compared to others in the area. It completely makes the sandwich. Also, the aioli on the sandwich is very very good (again, Bravo has great sauces) This is a great restaurant to go to as a family. The booths are huge and they're not stacking you on top of each other like they do at other spots. It's always extremely clean and the layout is great as the full bar is available but secluded from the rest of the sit down area. Every server I have had at Bravo's has been wonderful. I've been many times and have never had a single poor experience. If anything, I find their waitstaff to be exceptionally courteous and prompt. Even though this isn't a diner, I get loads of refills on the coffee I always order and every accommodation I have from my diet has always been dealt with smoothly. I love the staff here. I will be back!

Upon entry, hostess station vacant; 3-5 mins I was finally acknowledged and seated. Now is where it bears mentioning my theory on restaurant dichotomy; you either get great service -OR- great food...RARELY both, and this visit certainly wasn't one of those rare times; not even close! Server was slow to greet, and subsequent interactions were slow, as well and borderline dismissive. Ordered Ravioli, of course it was delicious; it always is. Bread sticks finally arrived after the salad's late arrival, which was a mere 2-3 minutes before the entree. Again, the food was outstanding (though the six ravioli were drowning in excessive sauce; they could have used about 3 more ravioli to make the combination more adequately balanced. Nevertheless, the food was good. The service, as contrasted above, lacked much to be desired. I'm hoping the server (Emily) is still green, otherwise she surely represents the weakest link in the chain at this location. Everything I politely requested; butter for the bread, parmesian for the ravioli, beverage refills... all had to be asked for TWICE, including the to-go box! The only thing that showed up promptly was the check. Final thoughts: - Great food - Mediocre, borderline Poor service. ~Tip: 15%, and that was a much contemplated thought on my part. **Will I be back? Probably. But hopefully, Emily will not be my server. Cheers (8 yrs since my last review of this establishment, & nothing has changed)

I took a star off this time for a couple of missteps that are easily resolved but impacted my evening as the host. When you detail the specials for the evening it should include the price. If you are charging $85 for lamb chops and $65 for scallops all parties should be aware. The host won't ask and the guest doesn't typically want to order the most exp thing on menu. Would I have still had scallops instead of the awesome $39 clams and linguine? Who knows. I inquired whether I should bring in a cake and was told they would do a sparkler and dessert. They did and charged me $18. I presented my Amex as I visited the powder room and planned to handle away from table. They put it on the table. This removed any opportunity to question anything. We eat out a lot and are fine dining foodies. The staff was friendly, food was hot and good but I'm not sure it takes a lot of skill to shake some Grey Goose with ice and pour into a martini glass vs $21 for a curated cocktail that takes skill and chemistry. Will I go back? Yes, but I'll walk not run. And please bring the grilled octopus back. I did run back for that and it wasn't on menu.

Had reservations but you can still walk in most evenings. Nice size table with plenty of room for food but small enough for everyone to talk to others. Quiet enough to hear even with an filled dining room. More fancy than other national Italian restaurants. I ordered my normal which is a pizza, pineapple and ham with extra sauce. I talked the pizza up and the person next to me decided to try one and was very happy she did. The rest ordered a mix of pasta dishes, salmon and a pasta salad. Of course we enjoyed their famous bread that had to be refilled. The major problem was the service. What started as a little slow went to not checking after the meals was brought out by 2 other servers. One person didn't get his pasta salad until I flagged down another server and explained what happened. The missing salad was quickly brought out and our drinks refilled by that kind server. Our normal server quickly showed up when she saw what was happening. Even with the problem with our service most of us look forward to coming back.
