Honorable people. First time in in the store. I left without buying a sandwich and didnt remember buying anything else but a charge showed up on my credit card. So I called Stacks and asked them if they could look up the transaction charged on my credit card. They were so kind and they did it quickly! I've been going to Stack's for 11 years, and the consistency in both service and food quality is unmatched. This is easily the most complete liquor/deli combo I've ever seen. The owner is a true people person and foodie -- and it shows in the menu. From the pizzas to the broasted wings with potato wedges, and the oven-baked subs -- everything hits the mark every time. I've had just about everything on the menu, more than once, and it never disappoints. I am the person who will eat chicken from a gas station. Before I found the gas station selling fried chicken, I found Stacks. And, yes, it is a party store that has a small kitchen to the side. And, they have so many fantastic offerings! Are you a pizza lover? They have the best pizza. They have out of this world salads and sandwiches/subs. All fantastic!! Fresh and hot (well.... Salads are cold). Prices are great. For today's economy. The staff are hard working and they are generous with the portions. My only negative is when they package your carry out container, they'll put cole slaw/potato salad with the hot chicken and potato wedges (which are out of this world!). Today we went to get stacks for lunch - I normally like Stacks but after today it's a big no. I'm not sure if has been taken over but here is my experience ; - 3 employees standing around for a while - service by another employee - I stated I wanted the 12 wings - Rudely yelled at when I said what I wanted with something that sounded like a pound or half pound - do I look like a butcher , no. , I pointed to the menu and said I want this 12 wings . Then I was yelled at again saying 20minutes . I paid and after 5 minutes I was so furious with how I had been spoken to I left. I'm not one of those entitled people but Jesus Christ on a bike when I am being nice Don't treat me as if I am interrupting your break time with your sighs and carrying on. Don't yell at me in a booming voice , try speaking nicely . And give whatever you cooked for us to someone in need as we won't be collecting and won't be back. First, prior to Covid this please had slow service for food. It's worse now. But what keeps me coming back is the food Just know that a 25min order pickup could take be 1hr. My first review was long long ago and really only covered the excellent sandwiches. I have been here countless times since and can assure you the other items here are stellar too. Trust. Go ahead and order what you like, it's bound to be delicious. We often get the chicken meals to share with family. The broasted chicken is always fresh, crispy and satisfying. I love the excellent potato wedges it comes with and the coleslaw is good. Better though is the potato salad (my personal fave here) or the macaroni salad. The individual chicken meals are good too. I usually get the whole wings option myself but wing dings are nice as well, just not as big so.... If you are going for a fish meal I think the catfish is the better option than tilapia but thats always true for me. My husband likes their pizza here. The firecracker chicken is amazing and I'll share if he gets that. One of the best pizzas around here period. If he gets his usual pepperoni bs I'm getting something else. The salads are all pretty tasty. I like antipasto or chef the best but they have good qu7ality meats. The veggies are nice but the meat is what makes a salad appeal to my carnivore heart. True confession. The shocker here are the desserts. Fantastic cannoli and must try cheesecake cones. The cookies are tasty too. We ordered lunch and my husband picked it up. Start with the good.They had sandwiches and they enjoyed them. I ordered fish and chicken combo, not so good.The fish and the chicken were bland. The chicken was not freshly fried. The fish was freshly fried. The wedge potatoes were like warm at best and not crispy or fresh. The coleslaw was not cold enough, but was decent tasting. Small packages of tartar sauce, which was like mayo, not tartar. So, my best advice would be to stick to the sandwiches. The service per my husband was friendly and quick. Not really an ambiance place. Unless, picking up a bottle of liquor in a paper bag and sitting on the curb outside to drink it. Lol. Online ordering works well, but you may want to check your food and receipt before picking it up. The wings here are delicious! i'm always searching for a good place to get wings in belleville and this is the place. My only issue is they are a little too oily because of the breading but hey it's fried chicken so what do you expect? Just make sure you're in the mood for that! The potato wedges are too die for. The wedges are seasoned so perfectly I don't even need any ketchup. While we were waiting the man asked if we had tried the new fiesta bites, which we hadn't, so he gave us a sample. SO good. I have lived in the Sumpter/Belleville/Van Buren area for... well a long time. I have known about Stack's for nearly as long, but I have just been "turned on to" their carry-out. I enjoy broasted chicken (maybe once every 2-3 weeks), I am happy that, if I wanted, I could order a single wing (or leg, thigh... you get the picture) or a bucket of their broasted chicken . I usually order the dinner and get the broasted potatoes that are dusted with Parmesan cheese - really yummy!! PLUS... they offer pizza, sandwiches and I am sure they're yummy in their own right. The staff are good people. Never rude. The guys that cook and work the counter have been super personable and kind. And are always busy! IF Stack's was a bar, it would be referred to a "dive bar." In the best possible way. They are worth a look. Try them for a quick meal. You'll want to use them again. And again. OH... they seem to have a great selection of adult beverages. read more

So someone told me that this would be amazing place to eat and I have good chicken but my first time calling wish they said they close at 9:00 PM. I called at 8:30 and they told me they was closed. They told me that the store the liquor store closed at nine but they close at 8:30 now I've been to the liquor store before they've been open past 9 o'clock so I'm a little confused. I don't know if the manager agrees and conned the behavior of closing an hour a half an hour before closing time, but it doesn't says 8:30 it say 9 o'clock for the food place. read more
