Today at 3:30PM had a mixed experience at this Jersey Mike's. The young woman who helped my wife and me was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. She truly went above and beyond while taking our order and did absolutely nothing wrong. Unfortunately, another employee--a much larger male--spoke to her in a disrespectful and intimidating way in front of staff and customers. My wife and I chose not to intervene directly because all three of us women are small in stature, and the situation felt uncomfortable. If he felt comfortable addressing her that way publicly, it makes you wonder how he may speak to her when no one else is around. Before leaving for his break, he stated that the order was complete, when in reality only one out of three sandwiches had been made. This caused it to appear as though the young woman had made a mistake, when in fact she was correct the entire time. He apologized to the customer once he realized the issue, but never apologized to his coworker--even after it was clear she was right. Watching a colleague stand over and disrespect another employee like that creates an unnecessary and hostile work environment. The young woman handled herself with grace and professionalism and did not deserve to be treated that way. I hope management recognizes the excellent employee they have in her--and also addresses how staff members speak to one another, because no one should be treated like that at work. read more

I used to like this location until I had a really bad experience with the manager. It was very rude to me because I just wanted to purchase bread instead of ordering a sandwich because it was something that I saw online so that I could make my own sandwich at home he made me feel like I was weird for ordering this and when I asked him, do people usually do this out of curiosity he was making me feel like I was dumb and left a really bad taste in my mouth would not be returning and considering calling corporate. I ordered #55 known as the Big Kahuna, cooked chicken meat with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and jalapeño peppers with cheese on a white bun. It took longer than I expected to make which lowered the rating. Tables were dirty, but employees were in a good mood, and were friendly. Okay, I have spoken openly and extensively of my love for sandwiches. As a self appointed sandwich connoisseur, I can attest that all sandwiches are not created equal. Though the customer service here is without exception, the quality of meat on the day that I went was rather poor. I ordered a turkey and provolone sandwich, and while the bread, lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and the cheese was fine, the actual turkey tasted rather metallic and almost "gamey." That was unsettling to me. Hey, it was a good thing that I had a cold, righteous Arnold Palmer to wash the sandwich down. Also it's worth noting that the place was spotless! And even though the lady in front of me had a massive order, I didn't have to wait long to be served. There is no drive-through, but the ordering process is super straight forward and transparent to ascertain that your sandwich is made properly, and you know exactly what you're being charged for. I appreciate that. The prices are rather high. I paid more than $12 bucks for 6" combo, which included a tip, but the staff does work hard to earn your business. Unfortunately, for me... I can't say enough good things about this location! They are all very kind while working at a fast pace. I have a severe gluten allergy and every time I have been there, they are incredibly understanding and careful. They are very thorough with cleaning the meat slicer and counters, placing parchment paper down, changing gloves, and getting a new knife. I couldn't ask for anything else! This location is definitely celiac safe, and i'm happy to have a restaurant I can trust! read more

We visited this location at the beginning of December. I reached out to the company, but because I haven't heard back, I am sharing my experience. My family ordered on the app. Our pickup time was 1:12pm. I arrived to the store early and decided to walk into the store 5 minutes prior to my pickup time (1:07pm). My order was not ready at that time so I stood and waited with the other waiting customers. At 10 minutes past my pickup time (1:22pm), I inquired on my order with one of the associates. The associate asked my name and told me it wasn't ready yet. I asked how much longer it would be, as I had already waited 10 minutes past the promised time and my family was hungry. I was met with an attitude from the associate at the meat/cheese slicer. She said she didn't know how long it would be. She also pointed to the customers at the front of the line and said "I'm not even making their subs right now" and then said "they (the walk-in customers) get upset if I ignore them". I understand I ordered at a busy time on a weekend, however if I had stood in line and gone through, my order would have been ready sooner. In my mind, it's not okay to immediately go on the defensive when a customer inquires on how long their wait time is expected to be, past their promised time. The way I was treated by the associate(s) at this store was unacceptable. I could also overhear that associate speaking with other customers about our interaction. I didn't demand the associate stop and make my subs instead, I just inquired on the extended length of my wait. Another customer mentioned to me that he had been at the store waiting for his online order for 45 minutes. He was still waiting by the time I left the store. I did finally receive my order at 1:30, 18 minutes past our promised time. Again, if I had just gone through the line as a walk-in customer, I would've been out in half of that time. I work in customer service and would never treat customers this way. We will think twice before visiting this location again. read more

Cold bacon. That is the only reason for a 4 opposed to a 5. I stood there while waiting in line, staring at a silver tub of steaming hot bacon on the bottom of that tub yet they gave me bacon from the top of the tub. If they always give people bacon from the top of the tub, then nobody will ever get hot bacon! If I'm going to eat bacon (not often), then I want that sh*t hot! Sorry, tiny vent. On the way in, five guys (not Five Guys looking to start beef with Jersey Mike's) dressed like they were going to play golf saw me approaching and still made sure they got ahead of me. Maybe it's just me, but if it's just one person approaching from the other side and you are a group of five, it would be courteous to let the solo person enter first. No big deal, though. The place was discussing yesterday when I went in to get a sandwich with my granddaughter. There was sliced meat pieces piled up all over the slicer from previous sliced meat the looked like it's been there awhile. Love Jersey Mikes but not this location! We came in around 8:00 and they closed at 9:00. We wanted hot subs and the employees were pissed that we asked them to use the grill. They questioned our order and asked we get a cold sub. There was no diversity in this store and every single employee had an attitude problem. Another employee ruined my sandwich by piling lettuce on my sandwich when I asked for a little bit, and then proceeded to tell me I didn't have any more room for additional toppings I requested. Y'all I was so disappointed with my Jersey Mike's experience last night! I ordered my usual #13 and it was awful. Just awful! The bread was over cooked, the tomatoes were mushy and there was not the normal about of cheese on my sandwich. It definitely was not up to the previous standards of JMike's. I should have asked for a refund, but I am so non confrontational that I didn't/couldn't. Service was a four, food was a two (generous) so overall it's a three for me now. My son and I had a very unpleasant experience at a Jersey Mike's in Concord last weekend. I wrote to JM's customer service, but have yet to hear back. Which irritates me a bit, needless to say. Finding foods my son will eat is a constant challenge, and people who screw with my ability to feed him go straight to my shit list. That said, let me say again that our local JM's is nothing short of awesome. Love them! Here is what I sent customer service, via email: I frequent the Jersey Mike's in my area several times a week, and I always order the same thing for my son. A mini turkey and swiss, on white, lightly grilled (just enough to melt the cheese). I have never had issue with this order, either at my home location or when travelling. Until today, that is. I visited the Jersey Mike's at Afton Ridge in Concord, NC today, and ordered the same thing. The employee behind the counter refused. I asked for the manager, and he refused. When I said "of course you can grill his sandwich, there is a grill right there", he became rude and dismissive. He said he would not/could not because he would lose his franchise. My general opinion is that he was lying, as why would the store be equipped with a grill if not to grill the food offered for sale? I am, however, not sharing my home location in case this absurd claim has any basis in fact. That said, I am appalled at the manager's rude and dismissive attitude. He was not apologetic or helpful in any way, and indeed seemed to go out of his way to frame my request as ridiculous. I will continue to patronize my home location, as they are the nicest and friendliest of people. I wish I felt comfortable enough to identify them for praise, but I do not. I will not step foot in the Jersey Mike's in Afton Ridge Shopping Center, in Concord, NC, ever again. Nor will I visit other locations, lest I be subjected to the same arbitrary absurdities. A bit of extra information: my son is 6, and is autistic. He wears red earmuffs to aid with sensory overload, and generally gives the clear impression of a child with special needs. If you are not a frequent customer you better find out how to order or you will be made to feel you are nothing but a big bother to some of the staff! My mom and I came in on Feb. 9 at lunch time. If you order a hot sub you are suppose to tell them everything you want on sandwich before you see your sandwich and move to cashier. I didn't know this and the cashier was so rude! She rolled her eyes shaking her head as she walked 5 steps to tell the grill person to put 2 items on my sandwich. I love jersey mikes subs! The bread is awesome and the ingredients are so fresh! Work til 8 a couple nights a week. The past three weeks I have stopped there and I couldn't get food. Three weeks ago they ran out of bread, week two sign in window was closed for technical problems and last week sign in window said closed due to power outage while the lights were on and staff was cleaning up.
