We probably order sandwiches once a week. They are a football game day staple. We have been watching for a few weeks now, the shrinkage of the meat and cheese. Originally, the meat overlapped the bread, I could only eat half and save the other half for the next days lunch. Now, we are still hungry. I might as well just get a bag of rolls and eat 1. My husband commented on how Cindy it looked while being assembled and of course only got a mumbled reply. I don't know what your response could be. Just greed? Not making enough $ for a $9.00 dollar sandwich. That's pretty ridiculous to start with, merely a convenience. Should you rename them Trump Special #1, #2, #3 etc? Do you need to blame someone? May as well be the liar in chief. This is so annoying. From now on I will definitely be making my own sandwiches. I am sure this will have no impact on you, but I may not be the only one. I Ordered classic Italian, Mike's way, was worst sub sandwich I ever had, way too much vinegar and herbs and spices were bitter. Husband ordered Chicken Bacon Ranch which was also terrible, way too salty. read more

We order from jersey mikes frequently, but will not be back to this location. At any other location, they will make more than one hot sandwich on the grill at a time to keep up pace with orders. Not this location! I order on the app so that I can simply pick up and go. It takes me about 15 minutes to get there, and I'll even wait 5 minutes before leaving. Ive ordered the mikes hot Italian twice, we get there and both times they have my husband's sandwich done, but my hot sandwich isn't even started! The first time, while they did one hot sandwich at a time, I was patient because they were busy. It took an extra 20 minutes. Whatever. The 2nd time, my husband goes to pick up, and my sandwich is not even the next sandwich to go on the grill. And if you ask questions about how long or why they haven't started it, you'll get snarky responses. They were slicing meat for multiple sandwiches and lining them up, but not even starting one on the grill... it was mind boggling to watch. And frustrating when you're hungry. My husband was visibly frustrated about it, so they all went and hid in the back room to avoid eye contact with him. I'm sure he upset them with his questions and requesting a refund instead of getting the sandwich. But they said they didn't even know how to give refunds. So he was stuck there waiting for the sandwich that was ordered at 5:30pm, and not ready until 6:10pm. Over 30 minutes to make a sandwich.... And they weren't that busy. One sandwich on the grill at a time is just insane to me.... Sorry to the employees who had to deal with my hangry husband. But maybe let's pick up the pace yea? read more

The service at this store was well below any jersey mikes iv ever been at before. They two girls were very rude , and when they messed up my sandwich by putting yellow mustard instead of honey and I nicely mentioned it they proceeded to tell me how they had three different types of mustard and I NEEDED to know for next time, they then proceed to give me a nasty look and slam the new top half of my sandwich on the counter before cutting it out of frustration . My son went all Al Pe for the first time. He had never eaten from Jersey mikes. He told me the staff was fantastic. They helped him work through the ordering and what he wanted. He normally get subs from a different business. He explained what he likes from that company and the staff worked with him to make sure he had a sandwich that was what he wanted. My kid even said he would try something different next time he enjoyed the sandwich he got. I am so thankful for this wonderful experience my kid had. Try this location out. read more

The Mikes Philly "Giant" is 90% bread and 10% meat, $14.25 of disappointment. Their photos show you a generous portion of steak but in no way is this the way you get it. How stupid can a place be to show one thing and sell you another. They are what you call "Quick Change Artists". I left one star which shows just how many times I went there and plan to revisit this gip join. Jersey Mikes needs to go to Philadelphia and learn how to make a real Philly. Food is pretty basic, but it is consistent. Orders are made very quickly and they have always been accurate.

This was always my favorite location but yesterday the girl working the topping station (probably around 330 or so) decided to wipe down dirty counters with a rag, cough, and then not change her gloves while she was putting toppings on my sub. Best part, when I asked if that rag was clean, she was kind of disrespectful to me. "Why would I be using it if it wasn't clean" and rolled her eyes. My teen worked at Crystal Lake Jersey Mike's. She was informed by a friend that they tested positive for Covid and she was in close contact. She started developing symptoms that evening and was extremely ill by the next morning. Crystal Lake Jersey Mike's still wanted her to come in, and or get her own shifts covered if she couldn't come in. She was so ill I could barely get her out of bed to get a Covid test, she barely left her room for days and had us very worried. The fact that they would force her to come in or trade shifts to get time off while that ill and put others at risk, is unacceptable and scary since they are in the public and handling food. I worry about the standards and if they have other sick employees coming in like that. My last straw was them telling her she needed to come in and work a double for the person that covered some of her shifts while she was still running a fever and completely congested. We won't be eating at a Jersey Mike's ever again. read more

As far as a chain sandwich place, Jersey Mike's is my new favorite out of all of them. Every time I come to this location, the staff is friendly and service is fast. I've also never had a problem with any of the food I got there. The menu selection is good as they offer both cold and hot subs. They really don't seem to be as stingy with the amount of meat or ingredients they put on your sandwich such as other sandwich places like Jimmy John's and Subway. If there's one thing that generally bores me it's usually a sub place. However Jersey mikes is breath of fresh air. They have deli counter where they cut the meat fresh for your sandwich. There's not a million options which is nice. If I go out to eat I like having some preferences its great. Once in while though its nice to have a sandwich made consistently with out being completely custom. I've been here about 3 times and its pretty consistent unless I switch around between peppers or pickles. The foods always fresh and the sandwiches are well put together. The employees also really appear to know what their doing. What tastes good with what etc... Not every places has that luxury where you say "well i have absolutely no clue what I want what do you suggest?" They helped me make my decision based on the type of sandwich I picked. It was great they knew exactly what to put as far as other preferences. Like peppers pickles or other. Even though they have a basic sandwich model that comes with lettuce, tomato, spice oil and vinegar. Another thing that is fabulous here is that my fiance just found out he's gluten intolerant. Its so hard to find places he can eat. They have gluten free bread and they ask allergy or preference. Because they have a specially way of preparing it if its an allergy or intolerance. So that there is no cross contamination. which is wonderful. I've never seen a place that was so awesome about gluten intolerances. (Most places are like why are you here if you have gluten intolerances or why are you asking about gluten? ) I suggest if you like subs and are bored of the sub shop same ole options. I also HIGHLY suggest if you have gluten intolerances. They won't make you feel awkward about your issue. They will also be very warm and caring about the gluten intolerance. read more

I visited your store at 8:30pm. Your open sign was off and we verified if you were still open. They said yes welcome in. Before we ordered we were notified that we could not order any hot sandwiches because the grill was off. He said that it was turned off because it takes 10-15 mins to cool off. I asked what time do they turn it off since the store closes at 9pm and he told me that I would have to arrive before 8:20pm. I am a little stunned that you would cut off half of your menu 40 mins before you close especially during a pandemic when restaurants are closing everyday. We walked out without ordering and went next door. I saw another family leave without ordering also. As a business owner, I would be sad to know that my employees are allowing my business to lose customers. Next door I saw them receive 10 people who all ordered hot sandwiches and it made me wonder how many customers could have been lost based on this policy or employee discretion. By far the worst CONSISTENT experience. Have always enjoyed Jersey Mike's sandwiches and they are pretty good on the quality front. Other than that, they have the worst costumer service of any restaurant (fast food or sit down) I've been too. I'd love to say it was a one time experience, but they consistently are rude, talk down to customers, and just seem like you are an inconvenience just ordering a sandwich. Try to give them the benefit of doubt and to no shock it's the same no matter who is working/in charge. Haven't had one good experience, you are better off driving 5 extra minutes to the one in lake in the hills to a very nice and friendly Jersey Mike's. Literally refer to customers faces calling them Karen's when they have to repeat themselves. And the lady was being nice asking them what they said! Grow up. read more

Sub sandwiches are pretty good here. Lots of meat on them. Nice patio too. Place is still pretty new, so it's been fairly crowded each time I went. So...a little better than Jimmy John's I think, definitely more crowded. About the same as Subway in terms of quality, maybe even a tad better. Way better than Quiznos. read more

I see this place is almost four years old - I would not have guessed that - the place seemed very well kept. The day I was there, everything moved fairly quickly and I was out in about 5 minutes. Great sandwich as I've come to expect from Jersey Mike's. Staff was pretty nice as well. I noticed a few disparaging comments in other reviews - maybe I was lucky or they weren't - or maybe the crew there now has stepped up. So I'm a newbie here. I was a bit apprehensive when I first looked at the menu but the behind the counter staff made me feel at home. They took the time to explain everything and said they can customize my choices. Anyhow, I ended up with a mini...nice size.. and because I was a first time visitor they handed me a free cookie. Foodwise, compared to other sub shops in the Crystal lake area, it's subpar. The location is not great for parking due to neighboring restaurants. Granted, I went on a day where there was a charity event and the older lady in front of us ordered 6 sandwiches and kept getting confused as to which sandwich was which. The tuna sandwich was average. I liked the addition of oil and vinegar getting it "mikes way" though. The only thing saving this from a lower review was the people. Every employee was in the weeds but tried chatting with waiting customers and always smiled. They were accommodating fo the older woman who didn't understand the sandwich numbering system by using the sandwich names. We waited in line for a while but the friendliness of the staff made up for it. read more

I've been going to jersey mikes for a long time now but went to the crystal lake location in front of the movies for the first time on Monday and I have to say, it was the best customer service experience I've had at any jersey mikes. There were 3 guys & a girl, I came in around 1145am. Every single one engaged in some kind of conversation with customers, made me laugh and overall I had a great experience. The gentleman behind the counter (wish I got his name) was outstanding as to accommodate to ours and others needs/wants. Love that the meats and cheeses are sliced fresh, other than that, eh. Seems to be a case of too many people making your sandwich, especially if you are getting more than one sandwich. You tell the first person what you want, they get the bread, slice meat and tell the next person, who puts the meat and cheese on and passes it to the next person, etc. Twice I have had 3 people asking me different questions about the different sandwiches I was ordering all at the same time. I expect my kids to try to talk over each other, I don't need or want that when I buy a sandwich. Not worth the headache to deal with them for a sandwich that didn't really WOW me.
