This is a great little location. The staff here is always nice and helpful. The sandwiches are always good and fresh. There is always a good amount of heat and cheese on the sandwiches and I like that they cut the best as you order. The location itself isn't very big, but I've always found a seat. I've been to this location several times and the last two times, my order was not prepared to the specs on their menu. On my most recent visit, I ordered the hot Italian sub, which comes with lettuce, but lettuce was not on the sandwich. If the staff working there would focus on preparing a sandwich based on their menu instead of chatting with each other and acting as if they don't want to be there, maybe I would visit this location again. This was my first visit because a friend recommended me to try Jersey Mikes number 16. The Philly tasted timeless so I definitely will be considering this place as an option for fast food now. Having spent my childhood summers and college years in the tri-state area, I was so excited for this place to open, I actually walked into their training meeting before their Grand Opening. But today, for their official opening, I emailed the girls in my department the menu link because I wouldn't miss it for the world. The owner, Robert, took my order on the phone and his wife was doing the "Vanna", greeting people and sharing the choices that were available when ordering. Sizes, combos, choice of gourmet breads, hot subs, cold subs, wraps, salads and any sub can be turned into a salad. Sounds good already, doesn't it? The customer service reps were all smiling and cheerful and because I ordered by phone ahead of time (online ordering also available), my subs were waiting for me. Easy in and out! I have been salivating over the thought of a true Jersey Italian sub - and it didn't disappoint!! The smell of the spices and oil/vinegar (Mike's Way) was crazy delicious on the drive back to the office. And from the first bite, it was spot on. Will definitely order this again. My co-workers got the Philly cheesesteak (regular size) and the turkey provolone (mini). They both said they would go again and we are all excitedly planning the next subs to try. All in all, I don't feel like this is the typical sandwich shop, being that it's locally owned adds that special touch of really caring that the place is top-notch for the Slidell community. OH MY GOODNESS! There is not a Jersey Mike's anywhere near where I live in the boonies of WV, but I travel to Louisiana once a year. My first experience with Jersey Mike's was last fall, and I made the mistake of getting the Italian on gluten-free bread. I am not Celiac, but was trying to limit my gluten. If you don't have to eat it, I would suggest not getting their gluten-free. I ended up eating the meat, cheese and veggies sans the bread. I do not blame this on JM, however. They do not make the GF bread, and I do applaud them for offering that option for those who need it. So, this year, I decided I was going to jump in with both feet. I just got my free birthday points, and I chose the #4 on white. All I can say is that I am IN LOVE! The bread was soft, fresh, and heavenly! The meats and cheese were fresh, and the lettuce, tomato, and onions were crisp. I got mine without the juice because I had a lot to do and wasn't sure when I would be able to eat, so I opted to just use my own red wine vinegar before munching. And, I will add, for a 7.5 inch sub, it was a MONSTER. I could only eat half, the other half is waiting for me in the fridge. I can tell that I will be visiting JM a LOT over the next couple of weeks while I am here!! read more

Great sandwiches! I love this place. Just stopped in for lunch with two coworkers. We had two #13s & a #17. Meat is cut fresh at the time sandwiches are made. Had ours prepared Mike's Way. Service was friendly and fast. Just what I look for in a sandwich joint. Got the regular size and it was plenty of food. This place has some of the most amazing customer service of any fast food type restaurant in town. So much so, I've started going here at least once a week. The subs are great. Everything is made to order, unlike at Subway where it's all pre-sliced. They literally cut the meat or every sandwich in front of you using a deli slicer. The best sandwich around. I drive out of my way for Jersey Mike's subs. I ordered the catered box (which was 24 servings - each wrapped on one end). Wasn't sure it would be enough food, until I picked up the box and felt the weight. Everyone LOVED them. Nice thing about Jersey Mike's is meats and cheese are sliced right in front of you, all the fixings are fresh sliced and are FRESH. Now, the customer service is outstanding. Cooper and his crew are super friendly, always welcome with a smile and make you feel like your order is the most important, regardless of how busy they are. Firehouse and Jimmy Johns got this place beat. They prepare sandwiches on a naked counter ,no paper underneath, the "manager" said, "We sanitize the counters everynight". The bread is cut all the way through, everything slides off. Full of meat, but dry, not much with tomatoes, onions etc. Manager says no one above me, my father owns this place. Went in expecting just another sub sandwich place. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised! First, the staff was extremely friendly & helpful - maybe because they've just opened, but hopefully that won't change. They offered suggestions, a few even recommended their favorites. My husband tried the Philly cheese steak, and I got the chipotle cheese steak sandwich. SO GOOD!!!! The bread is made there, fresh daily - I know, so do the rest of the sub places; but THIS bread, is so much better! Trust me, just try it for yourself. The sandwich meat seems to be a higher quality than the other places, as does the cheese. We joined their frequent customer club, on the spot! Not sure if you can lose weight eating off their menu, but they are super fast, and the food is fresh.
