Today was a bit better as the guy making the sandwiches seemed to be either the manager or at least taking a significant lead. He was trying hard but some struggle with getting staff organized. Food: I told the preparer twice what kind of bread for our two sandwiches. He got it wrong. Service: as soon as got the sandwich to the table and took it out of the brown bag I seen it was not cut in half. I went to counter and was about four feet away from an employee. He refused to give me eye contact (he was making sandwiches). However he had to see me holding the sandwich and something was wrong. Nobody would help. The bread was crispy did not taste fresh. I told the workers I had i had a gluten allergy when ordering the sandwich. Every other location has done a great job washing down the counters and machines and using separate toppings to avoid cross contamination. This location did none of that. They didn't clean machines or use separate dressings. When I asked if they had a separate mayo instead of the one they dip in, they said no. One word describes this place: Disgusting. Went in to pick up a sub I ordered. There isn't one clean thing in this Jersey Mikes location. - The bathroom was filthy and clearly zero effort to clean it is being put in. - There wasn't one clean table (you could see all the filth on the 6 empty tables), the food prep area is dirty. - The food prep area was messy with TONS of left over, old meat pieces scattered all over the slicer area. - The soda fountain is broken - One female employee was just walking around smoking a vape pen inside. The only glimmer of hope was the older gentleman employee asking her not to do it, to which she walked away and pulled it out to take another puff from it. I've ordered sandwiches from this Jersey Mike's location multiple times and never had a problem; until today. I ordered their #9 Club Supreme on Rosemary Parmesan Bread with Extra Cheese, Extra Meat, Bacon, Lettuce, Mayo, Olive Oil Blend, Red Wine Vinegar, and Tomatoes. On the positive side the bread was delicious, the cold cuts were tasty and of high quality, and the veggies were nice and fresh. On the negative side, and I've included a couple of pictures, there's highly doubtful there was extra meat or cheese on this sandwich. A single layer of cheese and the same amount of meat I've had when ordering sandwiches there before without specifying extra meat. There weren't enough tomatoes or bacon as you can see. They also forgot the olive oil and red wine vinegar. Jersey Mike's used to be able to satisfy my taste for a pretty authentic New Jersey sub where I was born and raised but after this experience I'll have to think twice before ordering again. read more

Well I had great interest in this place, as I am a native Pennsylvanian from the Philly local, I wanted to see what there take on a Philly Cheese steak was. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Usually my problem is with the meat here in western MI. This place had it right, rolls were spot on too. I will say no philly shop would put green bell peppers in there steak though, this seems like a common misconception around the country other than in Philadelphia. I got a mini Italian sub too, they cut the meat right in front of your face, I LOVE that!!! The other thing that I was extremely happy about was cherry pepper relish, almost any sandwich shop in eastern PA has this delicacy but not around these parts. If I'm being honest Jersey Mike's is really no different from Potbelly, Subway, or Jimmy John's. It's a typical sub shop, that's not to say that Jersey Mike's is bad, it's just nothing special. The shop seemed clean and the people behind the counter were friendly enough, however the making of the sub was slow. I ate the sub and it really wasn't half bad, but again it was nothing special. I ordered a standard 7-in Italian sub, the 15-in version of the sub, was almost $15 and I felt that was very expensive. Especially because boardwalk subs down the street, will do a 15-in Italian for under $10. That was my experience, I would not recommend going out of your way to get Jersey Mike's, but if you're on the way home, it's a decent enoy pickup. read more

Jersey Mike's has a nice menu, and good breads. However, there are not many options for condiments. Having a sub "Mike's Way" definitely makes up for that! Turned out to be pretty expensive. absolutely atrocious service at this location. I have been nonstop having problems and today i finally realized how disrespectful and terrible this location is. Over the course of time, i have always had problem with my food never being ready and most of the time not having been started by the time it says it should be ready online. another problem is that the workers never look at the tickets. every time i ask for it without something through the app, it inevitably comes with it. That takes us to today. I ordered a sub to be ready at 5:30 and when i got there 5 minutes early it was ready and completely cold. with this being a hot sub, it should never be cold and with me ordering it for a specific time, it should be ready then. when he handed it to me and i said he was cold. a younger african american man with a beard immediately told me to calm down and showed zero respect. following that, i could hear him talking to the other workers about me and complaining. when a customer is in the store, you should never do that. the lady who works her i believe is the manager and she's very nice but didn't say anything to him or to me apologizing for what had happened. i was given zero respect and treating terribly. I hope the owner of this location turns it around because i will NEVER be back to this location. I also hope you look into who you hire and find people who show respect. That gentleman shouldn't work in the service industry and the people you hire should know how to a.) read a ticket for the time and items not wanted and b.) show respect. Franchise owner would be embarrassed if they saw the way this place looked today. The restaurant as a whole, the tables not clean, floors a mess and bathrooms plain out NASTY. Slicer looks like it hasn't been wiped down or cleaned all day. Employees just annoyed as more people enter the store. I had to clean my own table so my daughter and I could eat and once the line was gone they just stood around making jokes. No regard for the current state of the place. I know finding employees is hard but ruining your reputation isn't worth it. Make the place pickup only if you can't keep the place clean and sanitary! It's hard to compete with other chain sandwich places like Penn Station (my all-time favorite chain of this type), but Jersey Mike's is decent. They cut all the meat in front of you, so it seems like it's fresher. I made the mistake of ordering the chicken parmesan, which just wasn't very good. The chicken was rubbery and soggy, and the sauce tasted really bad like low-quality canned pasta sauce. The bread was good, though. I should have ordered my regular choice, the Italian, which my boyfriend got. I had a bit and it was pretty good. The bread does get soggy if you order it "Mike's way" which includes oil and vinegar. The prices here are average. The medium size is enough for two meals for me, so that's nice. The girl at the counter was really friendly and nice, and the restaurant itself was clean. It's pretty small inside, so I would recommend calling ahead during busy times. read more

This is a very poorly managed location. I've eaten here many times, and the kitchen area is always a mess. The staff are not especially friendly, and the service is not very efficient. Today, the staff were dealing with a system outage and a large order, and they were frazzled, stressed, and rude. My hot sandwich took a long time to get ready, and was cold and incompletely cooked (basically raw). I would not blame the staff, but more probably an absentee franchise owner who does not take pride in his business. Best to choose another place to eat. read more

Not a gift card to be had. Today I went to Jersey Mikes on Beltline to purchase 20 $20.00 gift cards to use as rewards for my staff. The young lady that waited on me was pleasant enough and attempted to assist me with my purchase. Only problem, they only had 12 gift cards...however, this young lady was quick with a service recovery suggestion that their 28th street store would have plenty of gift cards to satisfy my needs. So off to 28th street store I went. Upon arrival at Jersey Mike's on 28th street the cashier there told me the other store had called and told them I was on my way, but they had NO gift cards...are you kidding me? It needs to be said, this store is DISGUSTING!! I was a frequent (3 times a week) customer when I lived in Austin, Texas. The store employees literally knew me by name I went so much. One time my wife went and ordered for me and they asked her if she was my wife because they recognized my order. This is how often I went to eat at the location on W. William Cannon rd. Fast forward to me moving back to Michigan. The store on 28th st is absolutley horrible. Every time I go there they mess up my order. Once the guy blamed me that I didnt order it right. Another time I witnessed the cook cooking my sub with her hand down the back of her pants (see attached picture for proof)!!!!!!!! Today was the last straw. The name of the sub literally says bacon. I've avoided making a review for 3 years, but I cant hold back any longer. The cherry on top is seeing how NASTY this store is, food crumbs everywhere, nothing has been cleaned. The soda machine literally hasnt been cleaned in at least a week by the looks of it. Hardly any drink lids, and everywhere on the soda machine and around it were filthy. Even the tray the cookies sit on had food crumbs all over it. This place is just gross. Wish I could give it negative stars, 1 is too many. I've been to this store at least 10 times, only once was it somewhat acceptable. Completely appalled, will not be back. Really tasty subs. Staff is still learning so the service is a tad slow, but not too bad considering the place just opened a few weeks ago. Wife and I came one night and shared a Jersey Mike's sub with mayo added. Very good Jersey style sub with fresh cut meats, fresh lettuce and tomato, and tasty provolone. It also comes with a nice amount of Italian seasoning and oil and vinegar mixture. Very good serving size for a reasonable price. We also had a Philly Cheese Steak on another occasion. We both agreed it was good, but very rich, and they seem to use some sort of an imitation cheese on it that is ultra creamy but has a touch of artificial after taste. I also longed for more peppers and onions and (gasp!) lettuce and tomato to freshen it up. I realize however, that is not an authentic cheese steak, and the sandwich I had really was tasty, just a bit rich for my taste. Would definitely recommend checking this place out- it will probably be a regular place for us when we feel like picking up a quick sandwich. read more

This place has only two downfalls, the parking lot is tough to get in and out and if you get there at the wrong time the wait can be really long. If you have never been here, skip the menu and order the Big Kahuna. This is a philly cheese steak with jalapeños. Unbeatable.
