I'd like to give a 4.5 only because the eating area was kind of dirty. The tables needed to be wiped off. Can't really blame the staff as there was only one person there and she was busy with customer after customer. So onto the important part, the food. We both got the number 18. Ham, roast beef, turkey, and cheese. The meats and cheeses are not pre prepared. They are cut at the time the sub is made and our sub maker was really quick at cutting. I then added lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, black olives, mayo, salt, and pepper. I got wheat and my wife got white. Bread soft and meat was good. Decent price considering the subs are 15 inches. Server was very friendly and very helpful. We ate in. She served each sub on a tray and told us to bring up what we didn't eat and she would wrap it to go. If I'm hungry for a sub and on that side of town again, that's were we will go. Went there for lunch today and the subs were still as good as the last time we were here. Eating area was clean this time as they had 2 people behind the counter today.

My number 8 combo!

I went here on the suggestion of a co-worker of mine after work. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They asked me questions about what I like on a sandwich and explained their choices and toppings clearly and concisely. All the meats and chesses are sliced after you order. I went with the number 8 which has ham, capicola, salami, prostini, pepperoni, & cheese. The bread was very soft and had excellent flavor. The meats, cheeses and toppings blending nicely together. All in all a very wonderful sandwich with great employees. My only knock is the combo price seemed a bit high to me. I will be back, but I'll probably get take out....

The best sub I have ever had in my life. People who served the food were also cool. As the kids would say this place is a W in the chat.

I sampled a few sauces and I think I got a sweet onion and honey mustard bbq sauce on the side.

It's a cozy little space on Michigan Street with takeout, pick-up and dine-in options. The food is great and the service has always been very friendly. I've sampled multiple menu items and have not had a bad one yet. While the French Dip and Italian Bomber are good, I have been gravitating towards their burgers, which are exceptional. My boys and I have tried over 40 places for burgers in the GR area, and this is one of our very favorites. The Pickle Poppers and Truffle Fries are tasty sides and the 'Pickle Dippin' Sauce' is quite addictive.

And by god, was I impressed. It's a small little sandwich shop off of Michigan Ave that has seating for maaaybe 20 people. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich to go, and when I got home to open my box, my jaw dropped. These guys put not one, but TWO mf chicken breast cutlets on this poor, poor bun. Topped with delicious house made pickles (their namesake), a fresh and tangly slaw, and a spicy oily sauce, this thing was a behemoth. And for, like, $15?? This is two meals for the average person. My only complaint was that the bun simply could not shoulder the monstrous burden of what it contained. Additionally, dude the fries are phenomenal. And they absolutely LOAD you up. Get the truffle upcharge, it's worth it I promise. I have been a Two Beards fan for the better part of the past 15 years, but man, in terms of value, The Toasted Pickle takes the cake. I can't wait to experience whatever else these guys are whipping up behind the counter.

Besides coffee, they have wine, beer, pop, and kambucha. I got the masala chai, which was nice and not overly sweet. For meal I got the hippie ki yay, and I enjoyed that flatbread, it is vegan. The spinach dip is also good but different than what you'd expect. It is not too creamy and has a little tangy taste. But I liked that a lot, so I enjoyed it. The ambiance is lively and energetic. There's a lot of seating available, and different types including a massive couch. It is noisy in there with everyone talking, but I dont think its too bad if you want to study there. They do have a stage where they have bands perform, they also have trivia nights. I hope to check out one of the trivia nights. There is a decent size parking lot in the back. This parking lot was filled on a Tuesday night, so its definitely a spot to go and check out. This is one of the best places I have been to in GR! Highly recommend it!!

At first I was hesitant because of the price, and it being biscuits, but they made me eat those words and more. It was like a large biscuit muffin top with jalapeño, cheese and honey glaze (I think) and it came with a white cheddar cheese sauce to dip it in that was outrageously delicious. For a guy who hates cheddar biscuits, I've got to say I'm blown away. My wife ordered the steak with fingerling potatoes and carrots. It was on the pricier side, but yet again well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were pretty good too. They had live music playing as well tonight. It was a jazzy kind of vibe and it didn't over power anyone talking or anything. The guy had some serious skill too. To top it off, we had some pretty killer service from everyone there. From the hostess taking our names, random servers walking around, and our fantastic server (I forget her name but she was blonde and worked upstairs and had a a really great attitude. The expo or food runner dropping our food off anticipated us possibly needing an extra plate and brought one without asking which was super awesome and ended up coming in handy ( I knew my wife wouldn't finish that steak alone) and she brought it without asking and was ready with a smile to get more. I used to be a GM (I hate when people use this saying but...) truly I know how hard it is to find good workers and the folks running it here seem to have it down. I come from a place where you have to drive 100 mi or more for average service. So seeing exceptional service is really almost too good to be true. I'd definitely stop in for a bite. It's worth every penny. We'll be back for dessert, they have seasonal crème brûlées!

I dined at TOG today for a business lunch and, unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing…read more At the end of our meal, I asked for a to-go box because I had barely touched my food. My guest and I spent most of our lunch talking, and I left with nearly an entire meal. About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.

When I walked in, the place was packed. It's a small space, and it was bustling around 1 pm. I was noticed by a kind employee who let me sit at a cozy booth. The menu is huge and includes tons of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and salads. It was tough to choose but I went with the Irish reuben (grilled pastrami, corned beef, bacon, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, thousand island on marble rye). Sandwiches come with chips, or you can upgrade to fries (regular, sweet potato, or Southwestern dipping fries) - I went with the Southwestern dipping fries, which are seasoned potato wedges. My food came out quickly and I was amazed at the large portions. It was a full basket of fries and a sandwich that would equal two full sandwiches elsewhere. The sandwich was super hot and delicious and packed with meat. I think it's one of the tastiest reubens I've had in awhile. The fries were good, but I think I prefer regular fries. Glad I got to try them, though. They have a daily special where a specific item is discounted, which makes it an affordable option for lunch. I was there on a Tuesday so the special was a spicy fried chicken sandwich or wrap for $12 served with chips or fries. That's a great deal! I will definitely be back for one of their specials. The employees I interacted with were all very friendly and kind and working really hard. I always appreciate good customer service and I found that here. Finally, they serve beer and wine, so if you want a drink with lunch, that is an option as well. The only downside is the small dining area, so I wouldn't say it's great for large groups, and they are only open Monday through Friday for lunch. Luckily I have a flexible schedule, so I'll be back for lunch again soon!
