The Sandwich maker came over and I repeated it to him. 31 bucks for 2 meals and we sit down and wait. We wait for 30 minutes. Samdwiches are brought and as I look at my Italian, which is a glob mess, my Grandson says Papa, look at this. His sandwich is loaded with onion tomatoes and 1000 Island dressing billowing out the sides. I bring it up and say, look guys, this is for a child. Its basically a plain Turkey and cheese on white with lettuce. So the guy asked me what do you want!!!! Something happened at this firehouse. IDK what but it does NOT offer the same service or quality it has in the past. My Grandson didnt like it once we got it so I wrapprd the other half and brought home. THERE IS NO CHEESE ON IT AND ALOT OF REDDISH MAYO SAUCE. They must have all been on drugs or ignorant. No other way could an entire crew mess everything up after repeating the order 5 times. There is a long counter to sit, but I did not find it appealing and sat at the two top. The chairs look dirty, as the back supports had a dirty appearance from all the hands. My chair was also wobbly. Then I noticed the napkin dispenser on the table was dirty with dust. All this validated my initial opinion when entering. My order arrived, but in a to go bag. No problem, I stayed and ate it. Overall the sandwich was ok, with a soft warm bun. The melted cheese covered the turkey and ham below. I can't say the sandwich was very flavorful, so the Formula 45 sauce added flavor. Before leaving, I used the restroom and was not surprised by how dirty it was. Lots of dust on the top of toilet tank and the handicap bars. Then residual dried water spots under the paper dispenser and wall where the trash can was sitting. No effort here. I really don't like giving a review like this, but it was disappointing. I have visited Groucho's in the Columbia area and they were much better. While food taste and value usually come first, the appearance (cleanliness) also contributes to the experience. I've read other reviews that share similar experiences, so this is not a solitary moment. Hopefully feedback helps, maybe owners/managers will see the need to react to concerns. Unfortunately, I will not likely return.
