Soooo, it's been on my bucket list to try a lobster roll. During my trip to Kiawah Island beach I decided to indulge. I ordered both the Maine and Connecticut rolls at $25 bucks each, one with chips and one with onion rings for an extra five bucks. Hungry from four hours at the beach, I eagerly awaited the food for my daughter and I. After about seven minutes I retrieved my order...I was not impressed. We are both petite ladies, and it took us about five bites to finish the rolls. A grown man could literally eat it in two bites. Look at the size of the roll next to the onion rings! I'm new to Lobster rolls so maybe this is the usual? The best part of our lunch was the bread. Lobster was not old, but definitely not ocean fresh, and left a lot to be desired. I also thought I would have gotten fresh fried chips, but I was surprised with a dainty bag of Lays. The service was friendly and fast, and we enjoyed sitting on the park benches in the shade with our pups. Since it was cooked properly, I can't bring myself to give Lobster under three stars. read more

Right outside Kiawah/Seabrook Is entrance, Maine Line is quickly assessable for the vacationers at the beach. Located at an outdoor market, there are shaded spots to sit and eat or shop for produce and flowers while you wait for the freshest, and tastiest seafood you could want. Owned by the son of a Maine lobsterman, the lobster is sourced from the Maine coast and tastes as if it were just pulled up from the ocean. The roll is a must have and is worth the price tag. I can honestly say that it is better than Cherrystones of Bar Harbour ME. The roll is all lobster and no fill. The split top bun is buttered and perfectly toasted, and served with a sincere smile. The owner wanted feedback right away knowing his roll will be as good if not better than what is found in Bar Harbour. We also tasted the other fare as well. The fish sandwich was a fresh hunk of fried white fish seasoned well served on a freshly made bun. I am not a fan of onions so I got my without but it comes with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, with tartar on the side. It was a solid sandwich. The shrimp was super tasty and well seasoned. Deep fried in breading, the shrimp was really fresh and delicious. If you are in the Kiawah/Seabrook area, this is a must try place. I would drive from Folly to get lunch here honestly. Make a couple of hours of it by going to Angel Oak and stopping by Maine Line. It won't disappoint. read more

This is a true gem! Located near the entrance to Kiawah/Seabrook and goodness it's so delicious. Enjoyed a lobster roll and fish sandwich and I honestly wish we ordered maybe five more. Staff is friendly, helpful and quick in the service. Credit cards accepted easily! It's located in the parking lot of a wonderful local farm market so stop there while your seafood is prepared! If you like lobster rolls this is the place to go, and we'll worth a stop on your way to kiawah/sea room. Worth the price though I wish they included a side of fries instead of chips. We vacationed on Seabrook Island a few weeks back. Maine Line Seafood was absolutely the BEST food we had the entire 4 days we were there. The lobster rolls were delicious. They can prepare it with the traditional mayo base or without the mayo but with a drawn butter. Either way you can't go wrong! The fried shrimp were amazing- not too heavily battered... and the fries and onion rings were delicious!!!! I mean, hands down 5 stars! If I could rate more, the sky is the limit! Best of all, it came with smiles and laughs from two guys that are salt of the earth & as real as it gets! Love you guys!!! Wish you were closer to GA! read more

The cart today was on Betsy Kerrison, right next to a vegetable stand and a taco truck. It was fantastic. We had two lobster rolls and the fried shrimp plate. The lobster rolls were filled with FRESH and tender lobster, and the buns were soft and buttery. The lobster wasn't overdressed or overpowered by seasonings or mayo.
