Half of our team walked in to get subs- 12 people on a Sunday late morning on our way to play at the Uni. Of Maryland. There was 1 person working. It took OVER AN HOUR for our players to get our sandwiches. The worker took other orders over our players. Our players also were not able to communicate with the worker even though we had bilingual athletes trying to order food. This worker, bc she made subs then waited to ring up the bill, our athletes couldn't even leave to go somewhere else because they felt bad leaving after their food was already made. This particular Jersey Mike's is absolutely AWFUL!...The "help" DOES NOT speak any english whatsoever and have NO IDEA how to fix a simple sub sandwhich! To begin with, the bread was hard and stale. Then to have a sub made with very little meat (#9, Turkey/Roast Beef)...Slathering the hard bread in mayonaise and drowned the sandwich in oil/vinegar so much it was dripping out all over (I guess they did that to soften the stale bread). Staff are untrained and use derogatory language in front of customers. No greetings or understanding of "MIKES WAY" Sunday 1pm Laurel - this is not the same staff that they had previously. Associates have decreased the experience therefore decreasing the amount of time that I'm coming to this establishment this was an emergency stop, but it won't happen again. The Associates need basic training and should be held accountable for their lack of customer service. This is what they do in your face. It makes me nervous about what they are untrained about on food storage. Stop patronizing the Jersey Mike's in Laurel because they do not want or need your business!!! I just experienced the most rude and disrespectful customer service at the Jersey Mike's located at 13600 Baltimore Avenue, Laurel MD 20707, managed by Zoyla. I walked in and was stared down ... no greeting, just energy so negative that you could feel it. The person that took my order was hoping that I would take the bad vibes as an indication to leave, but I was asked to grab a sandwich for someone that was bedridden and unable to provide for themselves, so I did my best to ignore it. On ticket #03588, I ordered a regular size #16 (chicken cheesesteak) and asked for it to be topped with lettuce, mustard and pickles, in addition to a regular size #17 (cheesesteak). At no time was I asked about bread or toppings, so I asked, "are you going to ask what type of bread that I wanted or were you just going to decide for me?" The order taker responded by saying, "I asked and you said white" but that was a lie because I don't even eat white bread. I also noticed that as we were discussing bread, another worker was quickly trying to walk away with a container of bread. I am glad that I saw that, because it allowed me to see that they serve bread that is not fresh. I realize that I walked in at 8:50 and the location closes at 9:00, so maybe it's me, but shouldn't you be able to order during business hours? As a matter-of-fact, the person prearing the sandwiches told me that I was only going to be able to get white bread because they close at 9. Prior to preparing the sandwich, the cook let out a loud sigh, because she was mad that I was placing an order, which really baffles me. If I was the manager, I would fire all three of the ladies that were working, because they are a terrible reflection of the brand and clearly do not care about generating money for the company. But anyway, back to the garbage that I picked up. The chicken cheesesteak looked like some mashed up meat, swimming in mustard, with 3 pickles and no lettuce, on bread that was not toasted or cut. And the other sandwich was no better. While waiting for the sandwiches, I asked for the managers name because I let them know that I had every intention of posting a review, so to think that they purposely put together some garbage, let's me know that they want the location to lose enough business that it will eventually close. Why should anyone continue to support a franchise with that type of staff? I work in sales so I understand the need for customer excellence, along with meeting daily financial goals and quotas, so I feel bad for whomever owns that location, because those three ladies are a bad investment. Prior to walking out of the store, I said to the three ladies, "I don't understand your attitude because if people didn't shop here, you wouldn't have a job." By no means was it a statement to make myself seem superior. It was more of a reality check. A thriving business needs the manpower to operate it, but an empty one doesn't. I will not ever patronize that location or recommend it to anyone. Sadly, this is not my first bad experience at that location but it is definitely the last. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. By the way, my order was paid for with loyalty points, so I have spent plenty of money with this company and have enough points left to continue to eat without money for a very long time. I created this account because I was unable to reach anyone via calling the store. Called 3-4 times in a row. The line rang until I heard an automated voice asking for an access code. I almost always order delivery or pickup because I have two small children who are high energy. I love my sandwich, "Mike's Way." I always write, "May I please have the oil and vinegar on the side? Thank you" I've kept count on my last 10 orders, and you guys are 9/10 for ignoring my request for the liquids on the side and receive a soggy sandwich, which ruins the sandwich. Not sure what's going on with this particular location. While the sandwiches are okay, I've noticed that the employees are slicing the meats/cheeses for sandwiches very thin to the point of being shaved. I've mentioned this on two other occasions and the employees act like they're not aware of what I'm conveying to them. I remember when this location had opened and was pleasantly surprised you could purchased a freshly made sandwich, not one that has pre-sliced meat between waxed paper. Beaverton Cedar Hills BLVD store. 1pm on June 3. Tables and chairs are sticky bathroom around sink and stool are dirty. This was my first time eating at any Jersey Mike's. My wife frequents the store downtown Eugene. She said, "You gotta experience it. It's better than Subway." The cleanliness of the restroom always gives me insight to the kitchen when dining out. One more suggestion is to carry a sweet sauce, like sweet onion dressing like subway. The taste of the sub (roast beef and salami) needed something sweet. Tasty food done right and fast! This Jersey Mike's was the first to open in Maryland, and I've been going there since they opened ten years ago. The staff has changed, but the attitude remains the same. Their subs are simply the best. They roast their beef in the store. They cut the deli meats right in front of you. Subway's meats are sliced in a factory in Indiana. "Eat fresh" indeed! Eating here is like going to the shore and having a sub after a day in the sun. It's good for the whole family. My 14-yr-old son loves the #43 (Chipotle Cheese Steak). And I recently introduced my 87-yr-old mother to the #8 (Classic Club), which is her new favorite sub. Part of that, no doubt, is because even the Regular is so large that she can easily get 2-4 meals out of it! I have a gluten allergy, and especially appreciate the ability to get a "sub-in-a-tub" or a gluten-free bun. Came here today due to a recommendation from a friend. I got the Turkey and Provolone, Mikes way with chipotle mayo and sweet peppers. Very good BUT towards the end my bread got soggy and I didn't like that. The girl making my sandwich was going to work on when putting on the vinegar and oil but I didn't think it was that serious lol. Same order as the first time. I asked for all toppings to be placed in separate containers as I did not want soggy sandwiches. I have always had a love for a good sub. When Jersey Mike's came to town I was excited. But that was long ago. I have been to a few locations to get a sub and it's been ok. Today, I went to get a sub for lunch and it was one of the worst subs I've had in years. The bread was so hard and flaky. But the worst part of the sub was the meat. The roast beef was so undercooked that it almost made me vomit. It smelled like raw beef that was held over a flame for every bit of 5 minutes. It was completely disgusting. We ordered sandwiches for our office and unfortunately I made a mistake on 2 of the sandwiches. We called the store and spoke to an associate in regards to our sandwiches and how they were incorrect. The associate stated that he was going to remake our sandwiches. As I'm on my way to restaurant the "manager" calls me and tells me that they are not going to remake our sandwiches and that we need to learn how to read the menu and hangs up on me. This location was staffed by a group of young men who were extremely nice and very patient as I have a very picky 10-year old! She is very particular about her food and they were very nice about helping her chose her sandwich! I was also there with others friends who had soo many directives to give about their food as well and they were equally as patient! Everyone loved their food! I've been eating Jersey Mike's subs for some years. Over the past year the last two subs the meat has been spoiled. The 1st was an Italian sub, I returned the sub and I got a different type of sub. With some months in between buying a sub I got a Cheese Stake. Started eating it and got sick, the meat again was spoiled. I took the Cheese Stake back to Jersey Mike's and was told that I had to get the same type of sub! I said to the food service worker, Ma'am why give me the same type of sub if what I had made me sick. The food service worker replied that is what you have to do ma'am! My reply was y'all need to take a food safety class. I came back home and tried reaching out to Jersey Mike's customer service phone number, with no answer, however, I did leave an email, with no response from them. Simply stated: this is the best sandwich chain near my office. The ingredients are always fresh, the service is SUPER-friendly, and the prices are reasonable considering the overall value for what you get. I'd had JM down in Atlanta years ago, and I was hoping they would make their way up to Maryland some day. Little did I know this chain actually was started in New Jersey (okay, I guess I kind of figured that out), or that it would grow rapidly to now be found in airports and all over the East Coast. The closest one to my office is about a 15 minute drive each way (less if traffic is decent), and it's rapidly becoming a weekly favorite among our lunch crew here. Why? Simple: because the food is so gosh-darn good. Their roast beef (cooked in house, I hear) is nothing short of delectable. It's made to a perfect medium-rare to medium (nicely red/pink throughout), and it has a pleasant seasoning to it. The other meats are pre-packaged standard deli selections (i.e. squared ham, giant ball o' turkey), but they are sliced fresh right in front of you and per order. Otherwise, they are kept in the chill chest. I really appreciate that. I know it's just about as fresh as deli meats can get. The bread has to be made in house, or if not, then somewhere local. It's always very fresh. I haven't had one of their hot subs yet, but they seem to always have one on the grill, so I'm guessing they are pretty popular, too. A few months back, I would have definitely complained about the joint, as it was far from clean, not very fast, and only marginally friendly. They really seemed to have righted the ship of late, though, and my past few visits (maybe 5?) have been exemplary. Keep it up, Jersey Mike's! I really want to keep coming back! read more
