My how the mighty have fallen. This place used to make the best burgers I've had anywhere hands…read moredown. In the past several years, ownership has changed hands 3-4 times and they've gotten further from what made them so good each time. I visited today and it will be my last attempt. There are several things you can do to ruin a great burger and they seem intent on checking all of the boxes. Weird, grainy and overly sweet "house made" ketchup: Check Oversized bun that is dense and almost stale? Check Horrible locally made pickles? Check Hopping on board with the weird trend of putting some of the condiments on the top bun and some on the bottom bun? Check I could go on, but nothing about the food at this place resembles anything they served during the glory days that allowed them to stay in business for multiple decades. Some people don't understand the concept of "If it ain't broke..". Too many Food Network style ideas with very poor execution. As soon as I saw the word "confit" in the description of today's special burger, I should have turned around and left.

Fries were good and I ate them with malt vinegar. It's an old diner style, very cute and historic. They have amazing bottled soda. We tried the black cherry, root beer and cream soda. I don't like cream soda but my friend who does said it was really good. Both root beer and black cherry were great. The lady working was sweet and told us about some of the history of the place. She was fun to talk to and nice. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is I left hungry and spent $16 on a burger, fries and a bottle of soda.

25 years of waiting and just disappointment…read more Nice warm day out, and me and my mom decided to go get something to eat for lunch. We hadn't been here before, but she has been waiting 25 years to come here. She has lived in Akron for all her life, and Kenmore for 10 of those. The bread was soggy, the ingredients were not quality whatsoever, it even looks like they cooked the sandwich with the lettuce on it. The pickles, the only thing free with this expensive meal, were soggy. We paid $41 for this meal for just utter disappointment. Not only that, but these are MAGA Trumpers, displayed everywhere, which is embarrassing in a town with such diversity as Kenmore has. Most of your customers are black, so this is just insulting.

Sooooo...lived up to the hype. Hard to get to, nothing is really near it. It was great. I got the…read moreNew York Pastrami or something like that. Price seemed in-line with other places, staff was particularly nice. People mentioned MAGA stuff (huge RED flag for me) and I DID see a Trump/Vance sticker (wtf?) but I also saw a Biden/Harris sticker. So if you are reading this Ms. Primo...how about: no stickers? I don't want to ruin my appetite thinking about Trump. That being said, the sandwich was the best sandwich I have eaten in Ohio. I will return and get some weird thing when I go back. Building was old a full of knick-knacks. They seemed to sell retail beer, but the selection wasn't amazing but they had some interesting stuff.

Might be tempted to give it a second chance but it'll be awhile. We both got a meal and a drink and it came to $35 so already not off to a great start. There were only 2 other people eating inside but it took 40 minutes to get our food. A lot, a lot of to go orders, but still, expected some kind of priority for dine in. The cashier and the woman who brought our food said a quick apology , but that was about it. My wife didn't finish her food, took it home just to toss it out. She got the Italian sub and pickle fries. The sub was incredible dry according to her. I took a bite and thought it was extremely lackluster for the price point. It definitely could have used mayo, oil, vinegar, etc though. The pickle fries were okay, very crunchy but decent flavor. I got a specialty menu item that was a 1/2 pound burger with various toppings and fries. There were so many fries I could barely see my sandwich. However, the fries were cold, despite the long wait... and unseasoned entirely. They reminded me of fair fries which isn't the end of the world but some salt would have been nice. The burger was very good and I enjoyed it, my wife also liked it but unfortunately that didn't make up for 3/4 of our order not being very good and taking a long time. Also a note that it is VERY loud inside. Phone ringing off the hook. Clanking of the spatulas on the grill. Some games next to the booths. Definitely not a quiet place. We were very disappointed with this visit and hope next time is better, if there is one.
