Rein's New York Style Deli Restaurant - One or our two popular vegetarian sandwiches. Lettuce, tomato onion, cucumber, cole slaw and sweet red peppers. That's a cool sandwich.

Quality is still good, price and portion are askew…read more We came here as a quick sandwich bite on our way around the state. Service was good, and the ambiance is still lively. The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy

Food- 4/5 Overall experience- 5/5…read more It was a fun spot to stop at to break up our drive back to Boston. The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.

There was one unsuccessful trip for nail polish remover but I won't hold it against them. It seems like a great local grocery store. Our last trip here we grabbed a few deli sandwiches and drinks and took to the tables outside for a grab and go quick lunch. Zero complaints! Sandwiches were delicious. My O'Hara hit the spot and the bag of chips that came with it made for a perfect pair. The space is clean, service was quick and friendly and sandwiches were filling. I do see some other reviews mention price, but I am from Jersey where everything is expensive so nothing shocks me anymore. For around $25 we had a lovely lunch.

It was sad how different the salad, which has been a favorite for decades, was. They shouldn't call it tuna pasta because there was barely any tuna. It was not even close to the way it was for many years. I actually added my own tuna to the salad I bought. I've heard the buzz about how downhill Cooper's has gone, and how overpriced it is, and unfortunately, it's all true. Nothing at the deli is consistent. I ordered two sandwiches- one had plenty of meat, the other hardly any. A small, local, beloved deli has now priced most people out of affording to shop there. I used to be able to get pounds of delicious salads for parties; now a half pound of mediocre deli food is out of the question. This is Florence, Mass. Remember who you used to be, Cooper's.
