While in town, I've stopped into Cooper's for everything from a (fantastic) sandwich to liquor to groceries. There was one unsuccessful trip for nail polish remover but I won't hold it against them. It seems like a great local grocery store. Our last trip here we grabbed a few deli sandwiches and drinks and took to the tables outside for a grab and go quick lunch. Zero complaints! Sandwiches were delicious. My O'Hara hit the spot and the bag of chips that came with it made for a perfect pair. The space is clean, service was quick and friendly and sandwiches were filling. I do see some other reviews mention price, but I am from Jersey where everything is expensive so nothing shocks me anymore. For around $25 we had a lovely lunch. read more

I visit Cooper's corner at least once a week. It's on my way home from work so it is convenient. The deli selections are great, I recommend the cucumber salad for a great summer side dish. Unsanitary deli. Spoons used for scooping salads are often moldy. Staff throughout the store tends to be either rude and careless or phony with an uppity attitude. Saw staff letting a bunch of underage college girls buy alcohol using some strange method once. Everything overpriced. Don't go here, nothing is worth it. Doyle's package store is right up the street and nicely renovated, give them your business if you're buying alcohol. If it's food, plenty of better places in the area. read more

I have always had great service at Coopers until last night, when I was turned away from the package store side. I had at least $65 worth of groceries, including Brats. I asked the clerk on the liquor store side to help me find white beer for a Brat recipe. Earlier , My friend jumped out of the house to go with me. She didn't bring her handbag or phone or wallet with her as she was just keeping me company. When we went to pay for all the goods the clerk asked my friend for her ID, she said she didn't bring her wallet. And was just along for the ride. I said "this is my purchase in any case she's just hanging out with me. " I produced my ID. He refused the sale. He claimed that both people in the party needed to show ID. I have NEVER experienced this at Cooper's or anywhere else, ever. Now, i understand there are regulations, and the licensing board wants to make sure kids don't get booze from adults buying for them. The problem is, I'm 57 and my friend is 46. Neither one of us could possibly be too young to buy beer. This treatment was disrespectful, bordering on harassment. I tried to convince him that I'm sure what ever regulator might know or see the transaction would have better things to worry about than one 46 YO and another middle aged, grey haired woman getting a six pack of beer. His demeanor was rude, and thoughtless, and I mean he looked like he was incapable of thought. He may well have been a droid hardwired with a rude blank look on his face. I thought he was enjoying his adherence to absurd rules. I left the food I had selected there and left angry and insulted. He was playing games with two people who were perfectly polite, and reasonable, we didn't deserve this treatment of being the receivers of his blank eyed power trip. I'm sorry to review the convenience store I have been using for years. But this was just too much and I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Absolutely horrid. Saw a manager yell at an employee for no reason and then the manager was rude to me right after. No way to run a business. Sandwich was completely wrong and disgusting and the olives in the grab n go were wrinkly and sitting out for DAYS. read more

Cooper's Corner deli and kitchen department did an outstanding job of catering my event ( a memorial at the Bombyx Center). All twelve platters of various foods and homemade desserts were artistically arranged, appetizing, and delicious. i got rave reviews from my guests! The finger sandwiches on mini brioches, Caprese tomato bites, and chocolate-covered strawberries were particularly big hits! Cranky old lady store manager tried to force me to buy a 1 dollar mask that's made in a sweatshop from China to enter the store. How pathetic of some middle aged and old people to latch to control because they don't feel good about themselves. It's a dam shame. Masks should have no charge and should be free to the public from businesses, some people don't have a dollar to throw down the drain. Excellent deli and even better beer selection! This is a great stop if you forgot something on your grocery trip or just need a few snacks for lunch. They always have fresh to-go sandwiches and potato/pasta salad selections right when you walk in as well. I was in here for lunch the other day and noticed how efficient the staff was working to get folks in and out. The deli was crushing their orders and the two cashiers were very accommodating. That could make or break a short lunch break. Added bonus if tables are open outside to enjoy the patio area! read more

Their sandwiches can be quite good but the service at the deli counter is HORRIBLE. Always has been, for years, and hard to believe but it's getting worse. They are extremely slow. They are inconsistent - ordered the exact same thing two days in the same week and the sandwiches had totally different amounts of meat, etc. They ignore you for a long time even when it's to point out that the order I called in - so as not to have to stand around in their store for 15 minutes - was not in the pick up basket. There were several sandwiches in the basket, two with no names, neither were mine - which was behind the counter. Just terrible service. read more

This review is solely for the wine store--not the rest of the market. I first visited there about five years ago. I purchased a bottle of wine and the price rang up incorrectly. I pointed this out to the cashier and she actually seemed annoyed by my pointing this out to her. She changed the price, but did not apologize. I thought this was rather rude, so I stayed away from the store for five years and just went back last month to give them another chance. And what do you know--the price rang up incorrectly again. (I am not making this up.) This time the cashier was apologetic and nice about it. But I can't help but wonder how much of their profit comes from regularly overcharging customers. I love Coopers. They have almost everything you need and they are friendly and convenient. Good deli with a decent salad bar. Also, a few specialty foods which are nice. Great beer and liquor store attached. A bit more pricey than Big Y but if you are in a pinch, Coopers will get it done. read more

Coopers is a great place to grocery shop or just simply pop in for a snack. Its is very easy to park either the on the street or in their small lot. Has a very good salad bar and deli. (The meatballs are superb). Very neat and the staff are very polite and professional. read more

I love this place! The deli staff was great, a young blondish redheaded boy made me the best sandwich the past 3 times ive been there. Everyone else at the deli staff are friendly and the ingredients are top notch! Good prices, 60 cent cans of good soda, good beer and liquor prices. Usually a smaller place like this would gouge prices considering there is not a large liquor store nearby but they are no more expensive and friendlier. I intentionally drove to Coopers Liquors as they carried a specialty dessert wine I was looking for to bring to a friend's dinner party. When I pulled into a parking space I also noticed a new Pie Bar across the street which I thought would be a nice addition to the wine. Well apparently Mike the Manager of Coopers Liquors followed/watched me as I went over to the pie place (for no more than 5 mins). When I then entered his store he immediately confronted me about how I should have only come into the liquor store while parking there. That it was 'now ok' if I wanted to shop but that I'd have to immediately remove my car once done shopping. Suffice it to say.....Mike didn't get my business. Every time I order a sandwich with a couple of the employees at the counter, I am treated in a condescending and rude manner. I'm usually interrupted and reprimanded for doing it wrong. I make a conscious effort to approach the counter and order in a friendly and unobtrusive way as I understand what it's like to be a food service worker, and have done so for over 10 years. I know what it's like to be burnt out, and I gave the benefit of the doubt the first few times, but this has happened a lot. It's a bummer because 90% of the employees are exceptional and incredibly nice, and I dig the sandwiches. The last interaction I had, whowever, just made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed and I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I love Coops. I end up doing far more grocery shopping here than what I should because I drive right by it on my way home, but it makes me happy to spend my money locally anyway. They always have naan in stock which I love, and the produce is pretty good typically. I like the grinders from the deli, but that can be hit or miss depending on who's working the deli counter. Cooper's is like the Guggenheim of package stores, but in the most unassuming of places. They have the classics, but also a perfectly curated, continuously updated selection of new craft beer, both from established and up-and-coming breweries. I'm always impressed and never leave empty-handed. read more

i hate that this is the only place in town to grab those last items that you forgot to grab at the supermarket because this place is SO overpriced. Florence needs a competitor in town so that the prices are reasonable. The sandwiches here are pretty good and they do buy local produce, but the average thing on the shelf is almost double of what you'd pay for it at Big-Y. read more
