I usually love Jersey Mike's but the oceanside location just doesn't bother to read what you order on the app. I ordered a turkey and provolone bowl with no cheese, add tomatoes, onions, and pickles with extra meat. This meal is almost $15. Picked it up and took it to the beach only to find it with no pickles and no tomatoes. Bummer, but it still tasted pretty good. Two days later, ordered the same thing. Excellent customer service. Food is Jersey Mike standard, which is good, but this crew and Nathalie, the lead on the shift, were top notch. A mistake was made on our giant 42, and we got a refired one in no time done perfect. That is customer service in fast food you don't see often, no need to complain, raise voice or anything. I was eating my lunch and I saw this woman walk in and the manager looks up and just said hey hi whatever her name was and asked her you want the usual and she just kind of nodded her head and that was just one of like two or three that I saw just that day so I know that this store is great... I called in an order for 2 sandwiches earlier today, with the hope I could walk in and out with my food. The sign for online/ phone pick up is on the far right in the hallway to the restroom. I didn't feel like standing there and staring at the food handlers, so I stood in line(the Carlsbad location is 3 times this size and set up better). They were very busy to be fair so I knew it would be awhile. Several minutes went by before I was greeted. Once I explained that I was picking up an order I had called in, the tall blonde hair white kid told me the #7 was waiting for toppings and that the meat for the #17 was on the grill. I proceeded to pay and tip. Shortly after they bagged up the sandwiches and thanked me for coming. I arrived home and to my horror, my giant 17 that I asked for meat and cheese only was covered in peppers onions. My disappointment and anger can not be understated. I don't live close, so it was not worth my time to go to the store to complain and get a sandwich made the way I very clearly ordered. At $13-14 they charge for the sandwich I (and also Joseph W ) can't help expecting it to be prepared correctly. I attempted to remove the peppers and onions, however there were still some hidden onions crunching in my mouth. The disgusting flavor was cooked in, so I tossed it in the garbage because it was inedible. I don't know if the girl I spoke with on the phone did not communicate with the employee that prepared my sandwich, or just didn't care. Leadership starts at the top. It's a great thing in life when the Whale's Vagina gets a Dirty Mike's. Since Dirty is so often said or replaced with Jersey itself it's only fitting that I lovingly call it that. First things first. The east coast and parts of MW sandwich culture is probably equivalent to the West coast taco culture. Their sandwiches are pretty big, mostly bread which is fresh baked in house, plenty of lettuce, tomatoes and "mike's way" is optional with herbs and spices dusted after a healthy dose of oil and vinegar which to me is kind of just OK. Also don't pay mind to the whole "certified angus beef top rounds cooked in store" because top rounds are basically London broil. It's choice, but either way it's an inferior cut of beef best used for high heat grilling. I like how they slice everything to order, meats, cheese and cook their cheesesteak sandwiches to order. Granted the later aren't super authentic, but they are big, but also a bit pricey. Frankly the whole menu is only pricey because most people compare it to Subway. It sits somewhere between Gandolfo's and Subway. Service is pretty good, you can tell most of the staff is new, they aren't slicing by muscle memory just yet and don't quite work as a team. Of course they'll never see the massive rush's I see at the location by my work. Yuppieville. Unlike philly places who carry tasty cakes, a local staple, Dirty Mike's doesn't carry truly authentic snacks and sodas that are found in Jersey. It's franchised and that's why 600 locations is a lot so most if not all of it's authenticity is lost. Speaking of philly the big kahuna is very large, hefty and still kind of good, plenty of cheese, but I wanted a fattier cut of meat. Grilled pastrami reuben topped with bacon and avo to be gives a bit of everything in the rainbow for flavor profile. Super sub gives that extra kick over the shore favorite and the original Italian is a bit too much boldness. Tuna is not good, way too much mayo, I don't care how fresh it is, the recipe is not good. capicolla on everything son. Order online when you know what you like, it's not quite as good as Chipotle's system, but they do have an app, unfortunately the nearest place you can order using the app is Vegas and it's not all that user freidnly, really more of an online menu. Décor is a standard sandwich shop. Worth a try and if you like it this location is never busy. read more

Hands down the best sub sandwich I think I've ever had, the "juice" that they sprinkle on the sandwich is so yummy, and a touch of oregano OMG what a great touch. The bread was fresh and all of the veggies too! It was sparkling clean, the staff was friendly helpful and the manager was super awesome! We got a free cookie cuz it was our first time. When I was baking an order whoever answered the phone was obviously a new employee who didn't know what store he was at and there was a Joe energy no excitement nothing and his voice. So I asked him to do a do over let's start again and he handed me off to another employee and that employee explained to me that she was training the person that answered the phone. Overall this was very nice - the suns were good. They were a bit slow and we had to repeat our order to the cashier at least 5 times (we only had 3 subs..not sure why it was so confusing..) but it was a nice experience. Subs were big and tasted fresh. read more

I have never felt more inclined to leave a review for Jersey Mikes than I have today! The customer service at this location was purely amazing and something you unfortunately you don't see anymore, especially in fast food/quick service industry. There is quite honestly no service anywhere you go anymore. Everyone is just there to make a paycheck, expect people to tip to do the bare minimum, and aren't personable at all. However today not only did I receive amazing service from the employees at this location, but I sat and overheard many more people receiving the same service I did! I saw them get super busy giving the same personable service to everyone just like they did when it was slow. I honestly thought everyone ordering was a regular the way they talked to them like they knew them! It was just a great change from what we see now... thank you Val, Amber and Mason for a great experience! read more

I have been going to jersey mikes for many years and I ran into a problem at the one in Oceanside. I ordered a giant #7 like I have for years and told the young lady that I wanted it cut in half with provolone on one side and Swiss on the othe, she proceeded to tell me a giant has 5 slices of cheese and she would put 2 slices on one side and 3 on the other I almost laughed I thought she was kidding nope she wasn't, she proceeded to make the sandwich and I questioned her about the 2 slices of Swiss and asked for a 3rd slice and she wouldn't do it so I just said do as you please and remember one thing your losing a custOmer over a slice of cheese. mind you not when she sliced the cheese they were so thin I could see the bread looked like 1/1000th slice. I guess when your almost paying 20 bucks for the food you would think you would get what you paying for, but your not they are skimping on the meat and for sure the cheese all I wanted was a 3rd slice of Swiss but the young lady refused I even said I would pay but to no avail she didn't. just remember skimping on the meats and cheese has cost you a custome, I guess I will drive over to Carlsbad locations to get my sandwich from now on. this is such a waste of time to post this and now I'm having to drive to another location to get my food so I know I'm getting what I'm paying for. sorry for the inconvenience of a damn slice of Swiss what a joke. the 20 bucks an hour has destroyed the food industry here In California, so go home with a extra slice of Swiss in you pocket to save 5 cents and lose a loyal customer over a hard headed employe. After reading the reviews, I had high hopes of liking this location. However, my experience was dismal. I ordered a tuna wrap via the mobile app along with baked potato chips. When I arrived, the order was ready. So the pickup was ok, though the staff was not very friendly. When I got the wrap home I was truly shocked. It was wet and runny, like it had been drenched in water and oil. The taste was even worse....a very washed out bland flavor. My husband refused to even taste it. Good fresh sandwiches! They layer their sandwiches with olive oil and red vinegar, if you like that like me! Kinda expensive compared to chain sub stores but quality is much better! Quick service, and the employees were more than happy to split toppings like onions over the half the sub. Had an employee come out to check on us as we were sitting outside and she handed out coupons. There's a store opening up in where I live this year so I'll make sure to check it out when it opens! read more
