The worst ran jersey mikes, expect 5-6 workers and only 1 actually working. The manager is a joke, and the owner doesn't care

Either myself and my family have the worst luck every time we come to this location, or they consistently have poor service. There is an issue nearly every visit, which never seems to occur at other JM locations. Today it was completely losing one of our sandwich orders while we stood waiting with our other sandwiches. Previous times, it has been forgetting main components (such as the meat or cheese) when we order to-go. Other times we have ordered to-go, the orders take 20-30 mins to process beyond the quoted pick-up time. I can't understand it when they are fully staffed with 6 employees present and a near-empty store. I love their food and we live close-by which is why we keep trying, but unfortunately it's become a habitual disappointment. read more

I will start by saying as I walked into this location the trash can right in front of the door was full and overflowing. Not sure why I guess they were busy all day and didn't want to or have time to change it out. Also it smelled.like some of the local homeless people had used the sidewalk as a urinal the night before. Over all this shopping plaza has had that smell before so I'm not going to blame the shop staff for that odor. Ordered online before arriving. Once again it wasn't ready when we arrived. This had happened before at this store. They actually did start making the order when we asked about our pickup order after we got to the store. There were probably 10 people in line: two or three couples and a few singles when we walked in. But there were at least 4 staff members working and no other pickup orders other than ours at the time. So we waited. When I went to sit down two of the four tops were dirty with sandwich leftovers on the floor. I gave them a two because the sandwiches were correct. But I would say if you are ordering for pickup and want the sandwiches ready when you arrive try another location. The one on the PCH always gets it done. This is my second time trying Jersey Mike's, who were voted "Best subs in San Diego" at one time. First time trying JM's was last year in Point Loma and I wasn't impressed. This time around I was even less impressed. Their sandwiches are nothing special. Certainly nothing to called "best in town". This time around the BLT's bacon looked, smelled and tasted overcooked, was dark brown and hard. The pickles were fresh & crispy. They use white onions-- which imo are meant to be grilled, not raw. Red onions would've been preferred. They also DO NOT have sliced chicken on the menu which is a bit of a dissapointment Not my type of sandwich. I'll eat there if it's a group thing, otherwise I doubt I'll be back. I'll stick with Submarina and Port-a-Sub (heck even Subway). The employees are always friendly and just really down to earth which is always a nice touch. I usually get the number 7 which is a turkey sub with provolone cheese and I like to get it Mike's way which means oil and vinegar to the tenth power. Okay so the prices are a little high but the subs are so much bigger and taste better. I used to be a fan of Subway but I really can't see myself going there unless I really have to. I'm sorry Subway but you just lost a customer. The only thing is that I wish there were more Jersey Mike's around like Subway. It's cool that most of them have TV's too which is a nice touch because Subway doesn't. read more

Omg. I have never left a review before. I worked at Jersey Mike's for a couple years back in high school and I loved it. So I know how to make a bomb ass sandwich. I've come to this location several times since it's so close to me. Always hoping it'll be better. They have been out of rosemary bread THREE times. I know all about doing bread count and someone needs to fix that. I'm pregnant and really emotional right now at how lame my sandwich is. I will say I'm very picky since I made my own sandwiches and so I know how much I just got shorted and how much better it could be. Not to mention the customer service guys!!! Sandwiches are really good but the service is really poor. I'm a repeat customer since it opened, years ago. However, the last two times I've been here I've experienced a long wait for my subs after going through the line, paying, getting my number 8's and having to wait for my number 17's. Why, because they don't start the hot sandwiches right away after placing the initial order. It's getting to the point where I have to ask the manager to start the 17, after I've paid, should not be this way. I'm an older person and have no tolerance for her rudeness. I got a california club sub and I thought it was great! It had been my first time going there and I had a good experience. The turkey was good, the avocado was great, but the bacon was kind of soft and chewy (I like it crispy) so it was okay. The bread is key! I ordered a #13 and the bread tasted a day old at least. I got extra vinegar and oil and it did nothing to the bread. Usually my extra oil and vinegar soaks into the bread, not in this case. Bake bread FRESH DAILY AT YOUR LOCATION. I witnessed someone BRINGING IN BREAD from another location. Seriously!! Picked up my Italian hoagie which I wanted with no pepperoni on 7/10/2020 and was very disappointed because it had just ham and pepperoni , no salami!!i specifically said no pepperoni so the guy making my sub was clueless!! He didn't know how to make an Italian sub with no pepperoni!! Please train your employees to know what the cold-cuts are!! I would have returned with it but was already home!! Ordered 3 sandwiches from this location, online. One sandwich had specific customizations which they actually did correctly, but then they failed to correctly make one of the other sandwiches (they customized it like the other one). I called to let them know and the guy told me "I'm pretty sure you customized both sandwiches the same". Ummmm no i didn't! So he goes to check the order and gets back on the phone and says "just bring back the sandwich and we'll remake it". Wtf. I thought you were "pretty sure". This is ridiculous! Not even a sorry. I've been to this location a few times and I love it! Service is always friendly and sandwiches are delicious! I normally get the turkey sub. The bread itself is soft with a generous amount of meat and ingredients always taste fresh. My sandwiches are always neat and never messy. My family loves Jersey Mike's. However this location has been a consistent disappointment. Ordering online is simple and made pick up quick, but when I got home I realized the #55 my husband ordered was made with beef not chicken. Since he doesn't eat red meat I had to head back to have the staff remake it. Second visit my husband orders a sandwich with bacon. Had to wait for my order a bit; no big deal. Get home and notice there is no bacon. Hard to not wonder if it's intentional of if this crew just doesn't care! From now on I will make the drive to Vista or Carlsbad! read more

This is my go to sub spot! My subs are always made as requested and they are very generous with the roast beef, turkey and vegetables. Okay after three separate instances, I'm compelled to write a review. The first bad experience was a few weeks ago, I got a tuna sub and the extremely disorganized staff at the time were rushing to put tomatoes on my sandwich but they kept falling off-so they just put them back in the tomato bin. I said something to the girl putting my sandwich together and she said "the manager just does that"...um hello...it's touched tuna with mayo. If someone has an allergy to mayo or tuna...isn't that going to get someone REALLY sick!? The second problem visit was when there was a rush, it was the slowest Ive ever seen a Jersey Mikes. Nobody greeted any guest, everyone was abrupt, and the manager just stood around "surveying" silently from a corner the entire 25 minutes it took to get though a line with only 4 people ahead of us. I felt bad for the people behind me. They ended up giving us the wrong sandwich on top of it. Tonight was the final straw: the younger guy working was really great, chatty, quick, got the sandwich absolutely perfect with no hassles. The second sandwich-a chipotle chicken cheesesteak was done by a young lady there at the time-the manager was in the back again. I got home and realized there was absolutely no sauce on the sandwich. You know-the chipotle part. Just dry chicken and unmelted cheese. I'm done with this place. The old manager (I think) Reino was as amazing as it gets. This new one? Sinking ship without the band even playing on the way down. The only good employees left are the younger white guy who's always smiling, the tall African american gent with the glasses and I guess I just get lucky that I'm usually there when Alexis is working. She is freaking amazing and quick. She should have been the manager, maybe these mistakes wouldn't keep happening. I'm done with this location unless it turns around. One more chance just because three employees are good-one of them exemplary...but I'm not putting myself through this locations BS even for them if it happens one more time. read more

I thought I would give this place a try after my very UNimpressive experience at another location. I've come to the conclusion that the reason why people like Jersey Mike's so much is because they are comparing it to Subway. Of course! I mean...if I thought Subway was the only place to get sub sandwiches, yeah...Jersey Mike's might seem like a breath of fresh air. Problem is...Subway sucks. Like really really bad sucks. So you need to come to terms with that before you start 5-starring a place like Jersey Mike's. The crew working at this location have that Starbucksy over confident we think we're funny and still GOOD at the same time attitude. Problem is, they aren't any of that. And you're still getting the generic low grade Jersey Mike's meat and bread like you are at other locations. I am posting this because my friend contracted food poisoning from this location. I myself eat here from time to time. The manager recently has tried to pass old meat to customers. After I brought it to her attention it was old, she put it back in the fridge to offer to a future customer. The meat had to have been spoiled for over a week which was my guess. My friend was not aware of this and got sick on her own after visiting here. If you cannot tell if meat is old or not from the sight STAY AWAY. I have been seeing these sub shops all over and we received some coupons at our office so we figured we would give it a try. BAD idea!! It took 20 minutes for them to make a Veggie wrap and a chicken Cesar salad. I watched 4 people order after me and get their food before me. Once back at the office and opened my food I was even less impressed. The salad was shredded lettuce with maybe 4 bite sized pcs of chicken drenched in dressing. The veggie wrap was just bad in all ways possible not to mention the fact that I did not find one single veggie. I asked for no ranch and it was dripping in ranch and WAY too much greasy cheese. I am a huge Jersey mike's fan, so i was happy that one was opening near me. However, when I ordered, I said "for here". They handed me the sub a few minutes later for to-go. No biggie. I just scarfed it down without a plastic basket. What was actually disappointing was the quality of my sandwich. Usually, a jersey mike's philly cheesesteak is so piping hot inside that you burn your mouth. The cheese is usually oozing all over the place. You burn your mouth so happy to the gooey, cheesy, meaty mixture inside. What I got was cold meat, unmelted cheese and not much filling compared to previous experiences at jersey mike's. Bummed. I have really liked Jersey Mikes from the first time I went. Great sandwiches at fair prices. My only complaint is that they seem to skimp a bit on the bacon. Well, not at this store! The staff are very friendly and the guy that usually makes my lunch likes to pile on the bacon (and who doesn't love more bacon?). So, it's fast becoming my new lunchtime spot.
