The food well it speaks for itself being tasty, savory and leaving you satiated. However you must try the ube cheesecake it just melts in your mouth and is so Delectable. My husband, my friend and I ate here last Thursday night for the first time for dinner service. Everything was delicious and perfect. This was a last-minute brunch find and so glad we came here! Did not disappoint. Simple, clean ambiance. Everyone was friendly and accomodating. Initial impression was that it was a bit pricey, but as we're newly back in CA, we think it's actually close to average prices nowadays. Every we order we chose were delicious. The chicken and waffles - chicken was cooked perfectly and CRUNCHY as I was hoping for. The gravy stole the spotlight. It was very warm and homemade feeling. Perfect in creaminess and sweetness. Chicken K Katsu sandwich on a ciabatta roll with fries my 7 yr old really liked and crunchy. Chicken schnitzel burger with fries was good & flavorful. It was filling and also liked the crunchyness of the chicken. Good portion. For drinks, we got fresh OJ and vanilla latte. 5 Stars - Filipino Flavor Magic at Yuno Café! This was my second time visiting Yuno Café, and both times have been incredible! The first visit was with my brother, and the second was with my best friend and her mom -- I just had to share the experience! We ordered the Ube Pancakes, Fresas con Crema (Strawberry Pancakes), and Loaded Tater Tots -- and let me just say: SO FREAKING GOOD. I was beyond happy to finally find Ube pancakes locally -- no need to drive to LA when Port Hueneme has this gem right here! For that second visit, I even stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the Chicken and Waffles -- Yuno's version is absolutely delicious. Crispy, flavorful, and totally satisfying. Wish List: My only (tiny) critique is I haven't been able to try the dinner menu, since I can't make it during weekday evenings. I really wish they were open for dinner hours on the weekend or that they offered the dinner menu before 2 PM on Fridays. I've got my eye (and appetite!) on that lasagna, seafood pasta, and all the other drool-worthy dishes on their evening menu. I liked the hot honey (could be spicier), and the biscuit was nice and flakey with a crispy, good size chicken breast cutlet. The accompanied crispy tater tots were really crispy - like the McDs hash brown vibes and they were very good. We also ordered the strawberry matcha latte which I would personally skip next time. The service and food was great! Our server Crus was amazing. He was so helpful, patient, and accommodating to my dietary restrictions. He went above and beyond to provide great service to my friends and me. The food was delicious and flavorful. I got the loaded tater tots. They were crispy and soft inside. The tater tots tasted like they had their own seasoning which went well with the Chipotle sauce, bacon bits, and fried egg. It also comes with gravy and cheese. I couldn't have any due to dietary restrictions but I bet it taste even better with all the works! I still enjoyed my plate. My friends also enjoyed their food. Yuno is unknown to a lot of the locals that need to be discovered! I saw this place after my beach walk and wanted a good coffee. So I went in and ordered a Flat white. It wasn't in the menu but the lady was so gracious to tell their barista to make it and it was pretty good I have to say. I do get nervous trying flat white anywhere else. Good thing yelp exists or else I woulda never known to venture into these parts! I peeped out chicken & waffles (WHAAATTT?!?) in the posted pics and me & The Fams just HAD to visit! Yelp directions are on point but note there is no U-Turns allowed going South on Ventura Road, so plan accordingly. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. Alrighty... let's EAT! YUNO'S CHICKEN AND WAFFLES: Yuno's has created a delicious untraditional chicken & waffle dish that you'd never expect to find 'round here!!! Visually appealing when it lands on our table but note there are things that make the traditionalist in me stop & pause as I grab the utensils. First, there is this hot honey & gravy concoction that coats the bottom of the plate. Don't be alarmed there is no syrup dropping in, this concoction WORKS! The chicken is moist and flavorful tenderloins that have a nice crunchy coating, rather than bony options. Waffles are homemade but DO NOT have any hints of the essence of Bisquick on it! Instead, light in texture with a slight crispness to the exterior shell. Then topped with an over medium egg (by my request) to add a lil chaos to the artistry! Together, every bite is a delight to the taste buds! Definitely, worth coming back to! UBE PANCAKES: This screams HELLA PINOY! Ube infused pancakes with Ube drizzle and a scoop of chopped Ube to cap the pancakes off! This will make ANY Ube snob nod with satisfaction! Pancakes are soft, fluffy and oh so flavorful. Combined with that drizzle and chopped ube, though... it takes this to a whole other level of yumminess. If you are cool with carbs or looking for a good cheat meal, this would be worth it! LOADED TATER TOTS: I love taters! Finally a place in Oxnard that serves them and serves them WELL! Fried just right so outside is crisp yet inside is still soft. You can really taste the quality in each dish. I've had the ube pancakes (so fresh, and perfectly sweet and no artificial taste), amazing chicken and waffles, avocado toast, chicken katsu sandwich, chicken piccata. This place has been in Hueneme for a year and I just heard of it. Seriously....don't miss out for a year like I did. Go there ASAP! We had chicken and waffles! Chicken was moist and crispy, sauce was a sweet homemade! Amazing! Wife had chilaquiles. Interesting part was that the sauce was beet root. So unique! Lately, Ube pancakes were so good! We had some in Hawaii and have never had these here in CA until now. Owner and Chef- Yuno was incredibly nice! He is a very creative chef and loves to explore new recipes. I keep coming back to Yuno's for their amazing pancakes and chilaquiles. I've had both the ube and the strawberry con crema. Both are really good. The crema is not too sweet, just the perfect amount of sweetness but the ube are my overall favorite. The ube are wheat pancakes which is the perfect combo with the ube. The chilaquiles are not your typical chilaquiles, the sauce is a type of beet sauce but soooo tasty! They do have a slight spiciness to them that I think chilaquiles should have. Wow what a wonderful breakfast and brunch spot in Port Hueneme! I'd been eyeing this spot since they opened and my friend Eri G. Had some great reviews of this place so I knew I wanted to come. Thankfully my Yelp buddies Jess and Jonathan were open to trying a new spot with me today, we had a great experience overall. The restaurant is super cute tucked away in a small shopping center. Parking is limited so definitely try to carpool. We did find parking behind so we were able to get in and out with ease. Love the bush outside this restaurant and the welcoming signage and vibes as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere was definitely casual and I liked the Hawaiian music that was playing when we walked in. We were seated at a table in the middle. This spot isn't too big, it's just right. Some cute booths and tables. Also you can easily grab a latte or meal for takeout. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. We had good service. They didn't hover and allowed us to talk but service was efficient. The girls who helped us were very nice and appropriately attentive. We were lucky to meet the owner Yuno and he was super nice! Love that he walked around to hear feedback from the customers and to see how everyone enjoyed their meal. That's a great owner and leader right there. We learned he also does meal prep meals to go so worth taking note and checking that out. Service and friendliness here are a 5/5. The menu here was fun with some creative dishes like Ube pancakes and a Katsu sandwich.
