    Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Corby O.

Great lunch yesterday on our way to do some escape rooms. We've eaten at a Lazy Dog in Fresno before and everyone in the group really enjoyed it so we stopped by this one for a meal. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Chicken was nice and moist, Havarti cheese and IPA mustard made for the perfect combination. The fries were hot and crispy and were the perfect addition to the sandwich. My wife had the veggie enchilada casserole and really liked it. It was a little too spicy for her but she said the flavor was great, everything seemed very fresh as well. It was a great meal and just another reason to stop at any Lazy Dog you come across, great food, great service and very good prices.

Great experience at Lazy Dog! The customer service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The staff made our visit really enjoyable. Definitely recommend! The kid's teriyaki chicken was a good portion ! The huckleberry IPA was so delicious aswell. Cajun fries were a must at every visit .

Such a fun spot! Very lively, full of couples and families, and great menu. I have a very restrictive diet, and there were many delicious options for me. Servers were kind and helpful.

FOOD: Nothing too grand or special but they did taste great. Portions were perfect and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. I had the korean ribeye bibimbap bowl. The meat was nice and tender and full of flavor. The marinate had a great sweet and spicy taste to it. The veggies were great I just wish there was more seasoning and a splash of sesame oil on it but otherwise still really good and a great crunch to the veggies. Would get it again! SERVICE: The staff were great from the host, server and manager(s). They helped us with bringing down the shade when the sun was out, gave us plenty of time with the menu and refilled our drinks promptly. They kept checking on us as well. I would say the service was quick even when it was getting busy. All our orders were correct and quality was not sacrificed. Had the cocktail sampler as well. Although tasty, I did not taste the alcohol. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing lol but to each their own but delicious nonetheless. AMBIANCE: Plenty of seatings indoors and outdoors. Dog friendly! They have a dog menu available as well. High ceilings and cool inside. Kitchen smell is nonexistent. Clean tables and floor. Great ambiance for date nights, solos or groups. They have a bar area as well. Overall, enjoyed our visit with great service and decent food and drinks! Will come back again.

I saw the positive Yelp reviews including one from a Yelper that I know...so I decided to try this place. I was surprised to see that it looks like many a chain restaurant in terms of layout. Very large restaurant. When I entered no one was there to greet me. The host desk had nobody there. I grabbed a menu to look over. Finally someone came to seat me. Luckily, the waitstaff and food were better than the host! I ordered the Korean Ribeye Bibimbap because another Yelper liked it. Glad I did. It was really yummy and there was plenty of food. My food came out promptly and piping hot. I was very happy with my meal and O definitely recommend Lazy Dog Restaurant!

BBQ Ranch Bacon Burger with French Fries (Normal)

This place has the best customer experience I have received since 2 months of trying out new restaurants in Ventura. Victor was my server and he was absolutely amazing! Very welcoming and attentive, always checking in on me with pleasant energy and demeanor. With that said, the pictures of BBQ Ranch Bacon burger called to me and that's exactly what I got when I visited this time. It comes with fries and the amount of food you get for the price is well worth it. The burger that I ordered medium rare was juicy and the bacon had sweet taste to it that really makes the overall taste unique. I do wish I had asked for no pickle and for grilled onions if possible. The one thing that might have really pushed this burger to an even greater level would be if they had grilled the buns to make them crispy. The normal French Fries were also an absolute delight! Perfectly crispy and cut. I would say the expectation of it being a BBQ burger was not as expected though. I had to ask for BBQ sauce to add on even more so I wonder if I should have just gotten the Bison Burger instead and layer on the BBQ sauce on the side.

The outdoor patio was very nice and we enjoyed the sparkly lights and music. Our server was pleasant. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was delivered but we had no forks or napkins so we sat several minutes waiting for our server to return. The bibimbap was deliciously spicy and had tender rib eye steak. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and had tasty no-carb cauliflower purée and veggies. The lemony sauce was a nice accompaniment.

Really yummy spot in the collection! My friend and I both ordered chicken Parmesan pasta and deviled eggs as an appetizer. The pasta was ok I think both me and my friend both wanted a bit more sauce but other than that it was delicious. More than enough chicken. Flavors were good. And we absolutely adored the deviled eggs we wish there was an option for 6 eggs haha. 4 felt not enough and 8 felt like it too much so we simply wished for more but not a second order. Over all a really Nice lunch in a quiet setting, I really enjoyed it.

Adam was our fabulous server! He was super friendly, knowledgeable & funny. Adam 5/5! Keep up the fabulousness... I so appreciate you asking me if I had any allergies. Very few servers ask that. We had a large party of 13 & Adam was definitely on top of things. I noticed some new menu items & will definitely give those a try. There is literally so many items to choose from, that it's always hard to decide what to order. I was surprised I enjoyed my salad. I would get it again, if I'm craving a salad. Actually, I have ordered this a couple times lols!.. Everyone's order looked so good! We inhaled our food & had a good time. So Glad the celebrant enjoyed his birthday dinner with the Fam :D

I'm going to give these guys 5 stars not only for the food, ambience but for the excellent customer service and food guarantee they offer. They didn't have a dish the wife was wanting but the waiter offered to him a close comparison and she went with it and loved it. Bison bacon wrapped meat loaf. It was really good. I enjoyed the bacon blue burger while the kids had the basic chicken strips n fries. Really great location and very clean.

Charlene was seriously such a delight. My boyfriend and I bring our dog here all the time in our part of the beer club and she really made our evening phenomenal.

I've always wanted to bring my dog here so that's exactly what I decided to do today! I decided to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu during my time here. Overall, I was very happy with my experience today. For my dog, we got him a $5 grilled hamburger patty bowl. I was very happy with the price of this. The meal is very simple - a grilled hamburger patty, white rice, and a few vegetables in a bowl. I love that the servers were very kind to my dog and offered him a bowl of water immediately when we were seated as well. My girlfriend and I ordered a few items from Happy Hour menu: $5 onion rings, $8 street corn tots, $8 burger, $9 buffalo wings. This was a pretty good and filling meal for the two of us. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I was only mildly disappointed with the wings. I had expected a full serving but I guess the happy hour option only comes with five. It's reasonable, but I just expected a lot more. The quality of the wings were also mediocre. Everything else - we loved. We also ordered two drinks: $8 lemon drop martini and $9 rose aperol spritz. Both were really good. Overall, this was a nice early evening meal for a pretty good deal. Thank you for treating us and our dog with great service.

BBQ Worth Fighting Over at Smokin Jay's BBQ & Coffee from Potheads Coffee…read more My wife and I recently stopped by Smokin Jay's BBQ and paired it with a visit to Potheads Coffee, and it turned into one of those meals you end up talking about long after you leave. From the first bite, it was clear this spot takes their BBQ seriously. Entrées: We started by ordering a brisket plate, which came with about 1/4 lb of brisket, roughly six solid pieces, along with macaroni salad and baked beans. Our original plan was to share, but that quickly changed after the first few bites. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right with that perfect balance of smoke and juiciness. It didn't take long before we realized sharing wasn't going to cut it. So my wife went back up and ordered a brisket sando with fries, and it absolutely delivered. The sandwich came loaded with brisket, pickles, slaw, and sauce, all working together perfectly. The fries were a great side, crispy and a solid pairing with the sandwich. Sides: The macaroni salad and baked beans that came with the plate were both on point. The mac salad was creamy and complemented the richness of the brisket, while the baked beans added that sweet and savory depth you want with BBQ. Sandwich Details: The sando really stood out, especially with the addition of the slaw. My wife usually isn't a fan of coleslaw, but this one changed things a bit. It wasn't overpowering and added a nice crunch and balance to the sandwich, tying everything together without taking away from the brisket. Drinks and Service: Grabbing coffee from Potheads Coffee alongside the meal was the perfect move. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jay, the owner, was walking around checking in on customers and genuinely engaging with everyone. He even helped my wife decide on a coffee based on what she usually orders at Starbucks, which was a great personal touch. He later stopped by our table, chatted with us for a bit, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. Ambience: The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid back and lively. It has that casual, welcoming BBQ spot feel where you can relax, enjoy your food, and not feel rushed. Pairing it with Potheads Coffee adds to the experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a spot you can hang out and enjoy. Overall: Smokin Jay's BBQ is hands down the best BBQ spot I've had in Ventura County so far. Between the quality brisket, well put together sides, standout sandwiches, and the personal touch from the owner, it's an easy recommendation. Pair it with Potheads Coffee, and you've got yourself a top tier Ventura food stop that's definitely worth coming back to.

Save yourself the headache and eat somewhere else. -- We were told our wait would be approximately 15 minutes. It ended up being closer to 30. Once seated, things got even worse. We sat for roughly 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging our table and had to flag down two separate employees before we were assigned a server. Despite arriving over an hour before I needed to leave for a scheduled appointment, our food didn't arrive until approximately 11:35 AM. Spending over an hour at breakfast for a simple meal is unreasonable, especially at a resort restaurant where guests often have reservations and activities planned. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. The chicken sausage arrived room temperature, and my pancakes were raw in the middle. Not undercooked--raw. After waiting over an hour for breakfast, receiving food that wasn't properly prepared was incredibly disappointing. As if that weren't enough, the restaurant somehow managed to charge our credit card twice while also posting the charge to our room. Resolving the error became an ordeal of phone calls, receipt photos, waiting for managers, and multiple follow-ups. What should have been a simple correction ended up taking a significant amount of our vacation time. The most frustrating part wasn't even the mistakes themselves--it was the lack of urgency in fixing them. Nobody seemed particularly concerned that guests were waiting excessive amounts of time, receiving improperly prepared food, or dealing with billing errors.

I rarely eat any "fast food" like McDonalds, Jack In the Box, etc. and consider Five Guys to be a step above those places based on the quality of the food and how everything is cooked to order. I also don't feel sick to my stomach after eating there. I love the topping options like grilled mushrooms that Five Guys offers and the ingredients always taste super fresh to me. The fries with the skin on and malt vinegar are addicting and IMO far superior to In N Out. The prices have definitely gone up a lot over the years...the little cheeseburger and little fries was around $17, which does feel a bit steep, but that's how things go right now. The regular cheeseburger was only $2 more but I didn't want the calories of that, which are over 1000 by the time you add toppings and the little cheeseburger is always perfectly filling for me. When crowded, parking can be a bit difficult but I have always managed to find a spot. This location itself was very clean and the staff were all friendly. It was pretty empty at that particular location, with everyone getting orders to go, so it felt a bit depressing in there, but hopefully I was just in there at a slow time.
