My boyfriend and I went for lunch last weekend. When he ordered a gluten-free roll, the woman could not have been more careful. An individually wrapped roll, a clean knife and a clean tray were used. This was my 4th and final time for the Scarborough, Me. location, the first 3 times they consistently left off the same meats: prosciutto, salami & cappicola, the first 2 times this happened I let it go, the third time I called the store and they said they would credit my order and that never happened, it's funny how they leave off the expensive meats and still charge you, it's almost like someone is deliberately doing this, I can't be the only one? We have gotten sandwiches from Jersey Mike's several times - just recently twice in one week. I've tried the turkey and provolone and the super club, and I forget what else. Everything I've gotten has been delicious. I did try the sandwiches "Mike's Way," but prefer adding mayo and spicy brown mustard. The cherry pepper relish is to die for. Sandwiches are usually wonderfully overstuffed, though this can be a blessing or a curse depending on where you're trying to eat it. Mostly I have ordered regular size sandwiches, but the giant ones are GIANT, enough for at least two meals, or two people, and well worth the cost. The downside is I feel like there isn't a huge range on the menu, most of the items are slight variations on a theme. There is also a relatively long wait for your food if ordering online at least, 45 minutes for recent orders. A testament to their popularity, but inconvenient for my appetite. read more

Let me start by saying this was my first time trying Jersey Mike's. I had heard so many great reviews, that while in Scarborough, I'd stop in. I ordered thru the mobile app, which was such a breeze to operate. I ordered a #5 and customized it to my likings. When I arrived, there was only 1 other person in waiting for their food. I was greeted by a lovely young lady, and told her I had placed a mobile order. It was already there waiting for me, 10 minutes ahead of the estimated time. I could smell my sub as I took it out to my car. Mouth watering! I had to dig in and try it. My tastebuds were super thankful! Hands down, no lie, no exaggeration, this is the BEST sub that I have ever had! A great amount of meat and cheese. Toppings galore. The spices, oils and etc just took it to a whole new level! I am now wishing I had bought the larger size haha! I give this a full recommendation if you want a delicious sub that your tastebuds and tummy will LOVE! This place was extremely busy! But, they were moving and getting it done. We ordered 5 sandwiches and had to wait due to it just being crazy busy, and we had no problem waiting. The crew was friendly and worked well together. Once we got our sandwiches, yeah, it was worth the wait. They were very good and larger than what I was expecting. Honestly, this place was so fun. I've never been to a "real Jersey sub shop" but I felt like I was in one, or at least what I expect one to be like! Everyone was SO friendly, there were like 10 young kids working behind the counter and they all got along and worked together so well. I swear they were putting on a show and were talking with Jersey accents. They were pumped that football was on, they called everyone "boss" and it was just hilariously good fun. I kept saying "where did they find all these kids?!" But besides the atmosphere- The sub was fantastic! We got a #13 "Mike's Way" and added banana peppers. We got whatever the middle sized sub was on white and it was the perfect size for one very hungry person or two average eaters. It was piled high with freshly sliced meat, cheese and plenty of veggies. I didn't see any side offerings besides chips but the chocolate chip cookies looked amazing. I definitely think temptation will get me next time and I'll be grabbing one of those! Strangely enough ingredients can't be found online except saying piled high with meat and cheese. I can assure you they were piled high with shredded lettuce, but not meat and cheese. For roughly $14.50 for a sandwich, we expected more than lettuce piled high. This invoked my old saying, that when chains come to Maine, they leave something behind at the border. Guessed the second time would be better. Earlier this year I reviewed this same restaurant with a 2 star review. I never got my money refunded from that visit but wanted to try the location again. There is a new location in Westbrook and it runs okay. I called my order in ahead hoping I might avoid the point of sale bullshit I dealt with last time. I was quoted 10 minutes and arrived 12 minutes after hangup. I left an excruciating 10-15 minutes after entering the store. There was a cluster#*& at the register and people lined throughout the store waiting for in person and phone orders. The woman bagging sandwiches was twisting in the wind with no help as she tried to complete multi sandwich orders adding to half-filled to go bags as well as getting in person orders out to waiting customers. She also appeared to be running the point of sale and taking payments. Complete inefficiency was apparent to all the customers while Jersey Mikes employees (same as my last review) had their head down not communicating across the kitchen or helping this poor woman at the register. I overheard "never again" and "this is ridiculous"being muttered by nearby customers. The soda machine was spitting carbonated water for several soda choices. We got a few takeout subs from Jersey Mike's the other day. We had been a bunch of times to this franchise in actual NJ, but anything new to Southern Maine, is very exciting! With that said, I think Jersey Mike's makes a great sub! Their meats and cheeses taste fresher than the other sandwich chain, and who doesn't love shredded iceburg on their sandwich?? We used their ordering app, and I was not able to figure out if I could order a salami and cheese sub, which was not on their regular menu. I tried and tried to figure that out and eventually settled on their Italian sub, which had some extra meats on it that I did not want. Figuring, I would just pull out what I didn't want, it turned out to be an excellent sub just the way it came! I would definitely order it again! I also like the way Jersey Mike's has more size options. I ended up getting the biggest size sub and ended up having enough for 2 lunches the next day. read more

This place is amazing! Fresh meat and cheese. Amazing bread. "Mikes way" is tasty, and what ever the oil and vinegar mix is, is yum. Sandwiches somehow don't get soggy either. The place seems a little disorganized, balancing take out orders on the same very small food line as walk in customers. But it's well worth the wait, there is a ton of very friendly staff. Second time at Jersey Mike's. Got a giant #9 and what a sandwich it is. It's definitely no Subway. This sandwich was awesome and for chain sandwich nothing comes close and compared to some of the best local sandwich shops it's right up there and maybe better. worst experience so far.. didnt listen or couldnt understand and put too much ham on my sandwich, they did take a piece off though.. after i asked three times lol. they went to put seasonings on my moms when she asked for just salt and the way they wrapped the sandwiches just didnt work.. counters were disgusting, along with the bathroom. had to switch the tp and wipe the entire toilet because there was pi$$ all over the cover and under the cover too. the lobby was also not cleaned so my dad had to go ask for spray and a wipe. nice people but not the greatest of service read more
