We had a reservation and were seated quickly upstairs, which set a nice tone for the evening. Service was warm and attentive throughout, which added to the experience. We started with the Maine mussels, and the sauce they came in was delicious, rich, and flavorful. The bread that accompanied it looked a little burnt at first, but once dipped into the sauce, that didn't matter at all. Mussels themselves were fresh and tasty. The cocktail shrimp were also a hit, plump and perfectly chilled. For mains, the salmon was just okay (first time I got asked how I like my salmon), but the short rib was fall-apart tender and flavorful, definitely the standout of the entrées. The ribeye was huge, great for anyone looking for a hearty portion. To finish, the blackout chocolate cake was rich, indulgent, and a must for any chocolate lover. Between the service, the atmosphere, and a few standout dishes, Tuscan Table is worth a visit, especially if you're in the mood for a hearty Italian-inspired meal in a beautiful setting. read more

The vibes/ambiance is what brings people here, along with very accessible parking. The combination of these two is hard to find in south Portland. But the food does not meet the moment, and service knows this. I came with my family in early December, there were several holiday parties, evidenced by people's attire. We ordered the seasonal bruschetta, which we probably should have known it would be unconventional, but there were no tomatoes on it. A creamy sauce and roasted squash. Def not worth the price. I think traditional red sauce dishes may be alright, but anything outside of that is not good. I got the white fish dish and it was incredibly bland. I won't be going back. We braved the Maine Mall recently and decided to use up a gift card we got from the folks who manage Tuscan Table and Tuscan Bistro, after a bad experience at Tuscan Bistro. Let's start off with the really cool decor inside, including some really intricate floor tiles near the bar, interesting light fixtures, and a couple cool murals, especially going upstairs. The booth seats were really comfortable, too. Our server was really helpful and kind. Attentive, but not pushy. The food was quite good, ranging from a foccacia that was crispy on top, yet soft inside, with three great options to spread on it. My partner's bolognese was well executed, with a surprise ingredient of meatball chunks. My carbonara was pretty good, although a bit saucier than I prefer. Excellent from start to finish! We were greeted with a smile and immediate table, our server was friendly and knowledgeable. She made several recommendations that were spot on to our taste. The olive oil was procured from my favorite local shop in Freeport so that was a definite bonus. We decided to have a tasting night so, salad, charcuterie and a pizza. Pizza was "bee sting" and the charcuterie was a general mix, salad was house semi. All were so, so good. I was smiling the entire night I could eat this every night and never get bored. The mix of house jams and spreads, soft and toasted breads, berries and nuts. Just soooo good. I cant say enough about our server or the food. Definitely a bright spot in the area!! read more

Holy shitscolie, 1st time here. We arrived around 12:10 PM. The place is huge, a very large horseshoe bar & 2 levels. It's a good thing I was seated on the 1st level. I would have had trouble walking up & down the stairs with my bum leg & cane. We are seated in large living room chairs with huge cushions. We ordered oysters with minionette dressing. I forgot to take a picture before I inhaled the oysters. The "famous "Chicken parm sandwich didn't live up to the hype. The focaccia bread was cold, The chicken was overcooked & dry. Kris loved her caesar salad with salmon & of course anchovies. Personally I find It interesting that the salad came with no bread. Visited TT for the first time in years for lunch recently. I love all of the restaurants within the local "franchise". Always a good value, atmosphere and food. I don't go out on Saturdays often but I was shocked at how busy it was. Not to mention groups of people around the hostess station. I questioned when my friend said she'd make a reservation, but clearly she knew the drill. Because of said reservation, we were seated quickly on the 2nd floor right next to an awesome 2 story wine rack storage situation. The decor feels high end and so does their menu, and sometimes prices. I researched the menu at home the night prior so I had everything narrowed down. I opted for the chicken parm sandwich with side salad and a tequila sage cocktail. The waiter was attentive but also gave my friend and I time to catch up. He brought me a to go container, without me asking, when he noticed I cut my sandwich in half and was eating very slow. The bathroom was super crowded, definitely wish it was bigger. I think it had 3 stalls but it's also a huge restaurant. I love smelling like a wood oven after I leave. read more

Really nice space with plenty of parking. The only issue for me is the food is very standard. It almost seems like a chain restaurant. Nothing amazing but also not horrible. The portions are large and their cocktails aren't bad. The servers are always friendly and efficient! I'd recommend this place if you're looking for something convenient. I sat at the bar, as I always do because I'm single. The bartenders here are awesome. Tonight served by Reny who was talkative without being intrusive. Glass of red Zinfandel, one of my favorites. Sm. Caesar and the Focaccia w/ 3 dips - marinara, house made pesto and seasoned ricotta. The Caesar was so-so; the kitchen used all of the white, inner leaves of the head to make the salad. Not ok with me; my opinion is a Caesar is made with the darker green leaves for the flavor. The dressing was just ok; I left 1/2 the salad on the plate The focaccia was awesome! Right amount of seasoning, warm, crunch on the outside, air pockets on the inside. The ricotta was my favorite but didn't eat much, the focaccia was great on its own. Ordered the bolognase with pasta. Was also just ok. The sauce had a sweetness to it, like someone added several tablespoons of sugar instead of teaspoons. And I prefer sausages to be browned, then added to the sauce, that's me. I didn't eat all of this either I've had the bolognase before and it was fantastic; that was almost 2 years ago. Perhaps there's been changes in staff. I finished off the focaccia with my wine and ordered mocha chocolate chip Gelato, a glass of Sambuca and espresso for dessert. Great finish, but I should have ordered just one scoop of gelato - ate too much. read more

The Prosciutto Wrapped Deviled Eggs, while not an Italian dish, is an untraditional take on an American dish commonly associated with picnic fare and family buffet tables. Just the right amount of sweet and acid with the balsamic glaze and pickled fennel. It was a revelation that upscales the dish out of its humble beginnings. Truly delicious and perfect for sharing. The Farro Spinach salad with Beef Tips was also great next course. It comes with spicy cashews, strawberries, crumbled feta, thinly sliced fennel topped with balsamic dressing. Hubby and I were pleasantly surprised with our dinner here one night as we were passing thru Portland. True transparency, we spent the chilly afternoon day drinking at breweries downtown and needed a hearty meal before bedtime near our hotel. We walked in, no res, on a weekday night and although no tables were avail we were able to sit at the bar. Honestly the decor of the bar is beautiful, the staff is very attentive, and the local patrons were friendly & chatty and we all had a great time. I'd pick sitting at the bar every time. Since we had ubered to the restaurant and could then walk back to our hotel, we order more drinks. Wine for hubby, and titos & sodas for me. Nice palate cleanser. Everything we saw being server around us looked and smelled AMAZING. We kept it simple and ordered a caesar salad (lame didnt even have croutons) , and a cheese margarita pizaa- thats was a delicious cheese blend on top of a delicious dough with lovely italian oils and seasonings. It was Soooooo gooooood. I'm writing this review as I sit back home in florida wishing I could order some drinks and pizza from Tuscan Table. We just don't have italian restaurants like that in FL. Pizza & italian is terrible here. First, the design of the restaurant is lovely. The upholstered chairs are super comfortable, the wall paper is beautiful and the light fixtures on the 2nd floor are works of art. We went on a busy Friday night. There was a wait for a table but we sat on the sofa and were comfortable while we waited. If we had planned ahead, I would have made a reservation. The service is excellent. Attentive, pleasant and helpful. I had the chicken marsala and my boyfriend had the shrimp dish with gluten free pasta. We both enjoyed our food very much. My boyfriend finished his dinner. I left most of my pasta. The chicken was served over the pasta and the noodles stuck together. The chicken and the sauce were really good. I finally went for the first time today after driving by and wondering about the place for years. The Caesar salad was OK but not great. The carpaccio was very disappointing: the meat tasted like sandwich cold cuts (although I would have preferred Whole Foods roast beef), the Parmesan whip lacked flavor, and the arugula salad was soggy and flavorless. My friend had the butternut squash soup and said it "tastes like desert" because it was so sweet. No complaints about the service or atmosphere. And parking is easy! read more

My husband and I decided to eat brunch at Tuscan Table. We haven't been here in a while and we have, in the past, always loved this place. It was around 12pm and we ate upstairs. It took about ten minutes to even be acknowledged by our waitress. It took about another ten/fifteen minutes to receive our drinks. We ordered cappuccino's. Waitress did not bring spoons or offer sugar. Our pizza arrived incorrectly without the proper toppings (no eggs on the breakfast pizza). Waitress refused to take it back and have it prepared correctly. Kitchen staff brought two eggs on a side plate. My entry came missing with the blackened chicken breast ordered. Waitress also picked up my fork, removed it from my plate, and set it down in-front of me as she cleared my small plate, rather than just take the fork and offer a new one. Why on earth would I eat from a fork she just touched? I also noticed the waitress did not serve the man sitting to the right of my husband a spoon or sugar with his cappuccino or coffee he ordered. Seems like service has declined here. The blackened chicken did not have the proper seasoning and was overcooked (hard to chew). Our waitress (Abrey) needs more training. A waste of money was spent today. Disappointed. The cost of the food does not justify the taste, quality, or experience as of late. read more

We enjoyed our appetizers and split the chicken parmigiana that came with spaghetti. Huge portion even to share. The bartender was friendly and knew what he was doing. Went for lunch today and had high hopes with such a lovely atmosphere walking in. However, the food was very disappointing. My soda was flat, I let the waitress know and she seemed like she was going to fix it, but came back with another beverage that didn't have fizz - might have been the same one. My Mediterranean Vegetable sandwich was mostly bread, very few veggies, and the bread was so soggy I ended up eating the vegetables out of it with a fork. I won't be back. read more

We arrived before 5 and there were already a lot of people here, I took that as a positive sign. We had the Bee sting pizza, the carbonara, the cannoli duo and a Blackout Chocolate cake and each item was delicious. The food was great, our Server, Christopher, was attentive, recommended great options and was very friendly. The restaurant is trendy looking with a nice atmosphere.
