She promptly greeted us and told us about the establishment. I was looking around, taking pictures and she handed me a menu. I saw they had a location in Mt. Washington! She told me they were a larger location with tables indoors, and more of the experience we wanted for lunch. She did recommend the chili and pulled pork. I will say that this location has brisket (which I was strongly considering) and MW does not. But Vanessa was explaining that her brother and sister in law (Kim - she's awesome!) own them. Love supporting local, family owned so we headed to Mt. Washington. Also she explained that she makes the marinades and applies them to the marinated meats herself. Thanks Vanessa! My family and I came here the other day to check this place out and grab some lunch and price out some steaks for a Christmas party coming up. You walk in and they have a counter where you order. They prepare your order and give it to you and you go to a counter by the exit to pay. At the exit counter they also have some dessert options and candy. On this trip we grabbed lunch. I personally ordered a hand and cheese sandwich. It was good but kinda small and overpriced at $6. My wife did there lunch special of soup of the day and half a sandwich. Soup of the day was chili which she said was tasty. She got a club sandwich and said it was really good. Had great flavor. My oldest daughter got a corn beef sandwich and raved about it. The counter desserts got to us. I got me and my second oldest daughter this giant m&m's brownie which was cheaply priced (opposite of ham sandwich) and was really good. You know how the corner pieces or a brownie platter is the best? Well this whole thing tasted like a giant corner piece with m&m's. Legit one of the best brownies I've had before. My oldest got cake pops and she said they were really good. On this trip we didn't purchase any steaks. However, we may come back. There ribeyes pricing lined up with local retail stores so I think we would rather support local small businesses like this one this holiday season and give it a shot. So I think we will come back in a a few days and buy some of the ribeyes which run around $13 a pound. Overall very cool and nice addition to the small town of Mount Washington. Not to many lunch spots in This town. So the fact that it's a meat shop to I think it will do well. They do have a spacious inside and it would be nice to see them setup a few tables so people can eat there sandwiches and chili and soups while there.

I decided why not lets give this local establishment a shot. I went into the newly renovated building and I immediately liked the atmosphere. It was very clean and well lit. They had reruns of Andy Griffith show on the tv behind the counter. (Which I love that show) I was greeted by a woman that asked What I wanted and I asked for two of those NY strips. The price out the door was $23.24 for the two steaks. I went home seasoned the steaks and fired up the grill. My wife and I ate our steaks and we said they were good. They were not the best but they were really good. I will be back to try more items. Made a stop here on a Sunday while heading home from a weekend trip. We're usually fans of Panera…read more(for well over 20 years) and thought it'd be great place for lunch but Panera doesn't delight us the way it used to so it's fallen to a 2nd or 3rd option when choosing where to dine. Once inside we got in line to order with a person. (Panera's push to kiosk ordering? Not a fan. I'll never embrace it.) I think our order taker was new because someone had to show her where the food item I ordered was located on the register. I generally order the same thing every time and it's an "off menu" item, but still available. After ordering and going to get our drinks we saw a sign that the ice machine was down. Strange, but it happens. Iced tea isn't iced tea without ice, so that wasn't appealing to me. Likewise any of the fountain drinks, since it's the ice that cools the beverage and helps maintain carbonation. That leaves whatever-temperature-the-drink-comes-out-at. Bummer, because I LOVE Panera's iced tea. I don't know if there an event or a convention or just an unreasonable gathering of kids, but there were A LOT of kids on this visit. An annoyingly large number of kids. Food delivery was kind of lengthy, made even worse by all. the. kids. My sandwich was good, but not awesome, and my room temperature tea (-ice) wasn't winning any awards. It wasn't until I went up to get a drink refill that I saw the young lady behind the counter get someone some ice from a little refrigerator behind the counter. We weren't offered the ice when we ordered so I kinda stood there in amazement, but at least we were able to get some for our refills. Kind of a lackluster visit, to be honest. The staff was fine and kept the moving. The dining room was surprisingly clean, given how busy they were. This visit was an "as we were passing by" selection. Of course the deal was over. Im wondering how many thought they were getting the salmon for the sale price and was unknowingly charged the regular price. Pretty standard super grocery store in the same vein as a Winn Dixie or the grocery side of a wal mart. They do require a Kroger plus card to get discounted prices. So that's kinda annoying. Just charge everyone the same price and be on with it. Especially since if you don't have one a worker or nearby customer will just let you use there. Anyways Thai particular location is a nicer one. Very spacious and very large. They do a. Good job on the upkeep of the store. They have decent sales items as most Kroger do (as long as you have the Kroger plus card). Overall not a bad location. Service here is solid. Lines can get long as there aren't too many grocery options in Shepherdsville but they do a good job on keeping the lines moving on my few trips here when in the area.
