I normally don't do reviews of chain restaurants, let alone fast food, but I had to call this one out! I was on a road trip down south to the Nashville area from Louisville, and soon after getting on the highway leaving Louisville, I quickly got back off the highway when I saw a sign for BOJANGLES! As a midwesterner, I discovered Bojangles very late in life and now I take every opportunity I find to eat there and this was a perfect one. This Bojangles is located right off the highway, so it was a very easy and simple "detour" to make! I went through the drive-thru so can't attest to the ambiance inside the establishment, but I can tell you that the service through the drive-thru was awesome. They were super patient as my friend and I figured out what we wanted as my friend had never been there before and then we got our food PIPING HOT in no time! We just pulled into one of the parking spaces to eat in the car and everything was SO delicious! I had asked for a side of ranch to dip my chicken tenders in and my friend asked for honey mustard. We got two honey mustards, but the honey mustard pairs so well with the chicken too that I truly did not mind at all. This is some of the best fast food, let alone CHICKEN that I have ever had in my life. The fries are mid and the biscuits are likewise phenomenal! My favorite is ultimately the chicken tenders, but also the Bo'Berry Biscuits - these live rent free in my brain and I can't wait until the next time I'm able to go to a Bojangles and enjoy all the magnificent food again! read more

While we were waiting for our food We looked through the bread window while someone (his name tag said Alex) was making more bread and they were eating something and it had got stuck in there teeth I'm assuming and he put basically his whole hand in his mouth to get it out and went right back to making the bread. Did not wash his hands nor did he have gloves on. I understand that the bread goes into an oven and gets cooked but that's not something I should see in a restaurant. I proceeded to tell an employee what I saw, and I don't know the employee told anyone about it, she could have told someone but I'm not sure so I busted to make sure someone knew through this review. Bojangles located in Shepherdsville Kentucky just off the expressway exit in a large area of other fast food and dining establishments. Bojangles had a pretty strong foothold in the Lousiville and surrounding cities about 20 years ago. Then one day they disappeared. A few years ago bojangles made there triumphant return with this location right here. For those who aren't familiar bojangles is a fast food chicken chain. They serve pretty much the same menu items as competitors like chicken fil a, Popeyes or zaxbys. Personally I enjoy there chicken San which and always choose the wild rice as a side. Pricing here can be high at times and the Service is generally slow (maybe they don't claim to fast food). Overall bojangles is a solid chicken spot. While I'm more a chick Fil a guy I do like bojangles overall menu more then I do Popeyes or zaxbys. read more

Traveling from GA back to KY I stopped and indulged, I had so missed it. I came from Louisville to get the dirty rice. I went through the drive through. Placed a Bo's combo order and I was asked if I wanted to try the new peach cobbler for 1.99, I said sure. I added a breast and leg dinner, mashed potatoes and gravy and pinto beans for the sides. The lady said they were out of legs. I said ok I'll just have a breast and thigh then. She said it would be 20mins for the chicken. I said that was fine. I also added a family size dirty rice to my order. I pull to the window to pay. The lady hands me my receipt I told her that I also had a chicken dinner meal and a side of dirty rice with the peach cobbler. She said well it didn't ring up. I said ok can you ring it up. She said no you'll have to drive back around! The only thing she handed me was my tea and my combo meal. Never got the peach cobbler, dirty rice or the chicken dinner meal. We are traveling & stopped to get Bojangles because it is not available where we live. The restaurant is DIRTY!! The management saw the unkept drink area, filled her drink and disappeared into an office never addressing the mess. The trash was overflowing and unwiped tables throughout the restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for them to fry chicken. Much of our order wasn't fresh. If we're already waiting why not make the entire order fresh? The fries were cold & seemed like they were fried yesterday. After a $70 order one would think to show care & concern for the product going out of the door!! Traveling from Michigan to Kentucky we were all looking forward to having dinner at Bojangles since there are none in Michigan. We place our order 2 plus hours prior to closing were told we're out of the white sausage gravy..... Our grill is off so we can't make the sausage and egg biscuits you want so their recommendation is the plain sausage and cheese biscuit which is beyond dry and hard. Ordered green beans as one of our side dishes and to be quite honest they were horrible with no taste swimming in water. Staff was very pleasant and polite. The food was delicious, service was quick, and they checked how we were doing as well. Apparently, Bojangles is wearing off for me. Chicken biscuit is just a little dry and falls apart. Cole slaw had a funny taste like maybe it was old. We will see. I know a good hospital, if necessary. I used to wish Bojangles came to Louisville, now not so much. I am as passionate about Bojangles as some people are about Jesus. But I am convinced there is a very correct way to do this restaurant. Bojangles does a few things incredibly well. Their bone in fried chicken is by far my favorite fried chicken. The spices are perfect. Bojangles also features some really excellent sides. They have a very flavorful mac & cheese and some delicious seasoned fries. But the main attraction here is the dirty rice. Get the dirty rice and thank me later. It's the best. In the spirit of fairness, I should point out some things that Bojangles is just OK at. Their chicken biscuits and sausage biscuits are just OK. There are much better places to get either of those things. In addition, their chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches are just not that impressive. You can also get those things much better at different restaurants. I bet you can guess where. Just go back to the first paragraph of this review. Order what I said and you are in for a great meal One note of caution: While Bojangles is ostensibly fast food, in my experience, it is rarely fast. In fact, I have been to multiple Bojangles locations and nearly always find their service to be problematic. In addition to the service being surprisingly slow for a fast food restaurant, I find that my order is wrong a surprisingly high percentage of the time. So don't go to Bojangles if you are in a hurry. I have made that mistake and regret it. I do not want to hear anything about Popeye's from you. Popeye's is trying to do the same thing as Bojangles but is in every conceivable way inferior. In particular, their dirty rice should be considered a hate crime. I love Bojangles chicken. I used to eat this all the time back in the day when I was growing up my buddy Chris Aunt work there and she would always bring us home some. Fast forward about 20 years after they got rid of Bojangles and here I am a 35 year old man and I'm very excited that Shepherdsville right down the street from me they finally built the Bojangles. It's very busy people of it people in Shepherdsville love fried food they love chicken and there it is so it's always crowded but that shows you that it's good I've been there 3 times so far and I'm going to go 30 more times hopefully because it's a very good place and I really enjoy it and I definitely recommend it because I can't wait to go back try the chicken of course dirty rice is great and their breakfast is phenomenal can't wait to go back read more

I walked in to this establishment with low expectations due to the high number of Karen's who left reviews on here that were evidently expecting a life changing moment from a fast food restaurant. I got Bojangles for lunch today and haven't had this place in a couple years. I got the spicy chicken biscuit and sweet tea. The chicken was very dried out and lacked the spice I was hoping for. Ordered a family meal with an add-on of Bo-Berry biscuits. No one in line but me. They told me to pull up to the fence. I waited and waited and waited. Finally went inside and there was no one in line to order food. Only a couple people in the restaurant. More employees than customers. My food was sitting there ready and none of the six people working could bring it to me. On the good side, what I got was good and as ordered. I am a huge Bojangles fan and I was super excited to see one open up near louisville. like SUPER excited. I went here to get lunch and a couple sandwiches to take home for dinner and was really disappointed by my experience. I've always had great service and food at Bojangles restaurants but...this place was a disaster. It was dirty, spilled sweet tea all over the drink station, and general mess and Disorganization behind the counter. Employees that were restocking the sides were grumbling and complying and throwing the hot trays around. There clearly were not enough employees, the person taking orders was also making sandwiches, and clearly did known how to make them, as I saw the person throw away the first egg sandwich that was made because it was so sloppy. And a pretty substantial line stared forming in the front since no one was taking orders. To top it off, the sweet tea dispenser was dry, prolly since it was all over the counter, they were out of large cups and small lids (go figure), also Out of half their sauce selection. What. A. Mess. Oh, the food was ok. Not the best I've gotten, but perhaps not the worst. I hope they figure it out, I do really love Bojangles...usually. read more

I'm a big fan of most Bojangles, and was glad to see one move in closer to my home in Louisville....but this location is the worse one I've ever visited. The floors and tables were filthy and the trash bins overflowing. It was 8:30 PM and they were not overly busy (only a few people eating in the restaurant but lots of us waiting for our food...for a long long time. After paying, it took 30 minutes for me to receive my order! I could have gone down to the steak house and received a nice steak in less time than it took to get 4 chicken tenders! I thought that maybe they were short-handed...not so. I counted 12 people working at the same time. I thought maybe there's too many orders coming in.... but only 3 people were ahead of me only 1 behind me. But still it took 30 minutes after I paid. Maybe they cook the chicken at a really low temperature, like just above room temperature so the slow roasting process takes longer...no, wait...it's fried chicken. I guess my excitement for having a Bojangles closer to home was misplaced. This place is just not worth the wait. They should change the name to Boo-jangles! read more

Things aren't improving here. After I ordered, paid, and received my order I noticed they had a 62% Health Department rating. Drive-thru line is still EXTREMELY slow even if it's just 3-4 cars. I love some of their menu items, but I'm about to call it quits on this place. There's a lot of other options around here to choose from.
